jacksonite:
Why can't buhari give CCB that consent to publish his assets publicly knowing fully well that he made a solemn vow with Nigerians on it of which Nigerians fulfilled their own part by voting him into power.
Exactly the point. History will judge Buhari, if at the end of his term failed to keep his promise.

profinaya:
Rather than blame the us, america should be praised for keeping and sustaining world peace. The world should be grateful to the us on their roles in the two world wars, defeating communism, non proliferation of nuclear weapon etc if u claim america created isis, who created taliban, boko haram, al quaeda, al shabaab, hezbolla? You want to create the impression that america is the cause of jihadist movements around the world. The muslim world should look deep into their koran and ask themselves questions. America is not and can never be the reason for muslim to kill themselves.
You talk about russia, is nigeria ready to shift policy direction now? What will be our benefit in aligning with russia? Are we ready to be an enemy of the west? These are questions to be answered
I understand your argument because I felt the same way back in the day. I used to get angry when ever people say America supports terrorist activities round the world, giving the fact that America committed huge resources material and human to maintain peace and stability around the world.
Things changed when I discovered and reviewed the world media as it relates to information dissemination and subliminal mind control through propaganda. The world is not what it seems to be bro. Am not against Americans as a people. They too are victims of their govt same as we are. Honest as it is right now, the US govt are the greatest hypocrites the world has ever seen. The idea that they are fighting for world peace is nothing but a media propaganda. American govt don't give a damn about world peace. All they care about is the Ideology of the Pheonix: One World Government.
Like the legend of the Pheonix that rises from the ashes, America believes that order can be created in the world through chaos. America govt through international bankers financed Hitler's military program. The same guy that caused the second world war.
One day you will understand.

Don't believe Western propaganda.
PoliticsRe: Imperialist America: Propagating The Global Jihad: Nigerian Campaign by major466(m): 12:41pm On Aug 15, 2015
The Op is right. Only the gullible still see America as a friend.
This is how United States maintain control of the world:
1. Support disidents and miscreants into violent confrontation against governments and countries they don't like.
2. Set up revolutionary groups disguise as Charity organisations to finance terrorism.
3. Place sanctions on countries via questionable human rights reports.
4. Promotion of international law, thereby eroding independence and soveriegnty of smaller countries.
The worst; playing the devil by Pretending to care for countries facing terrorism, offering to help even though they were the ones behind it.
PoliticsRe: Mugabe Still Angry At Nigeria Over Sahara TV Incident by major466(m):
Totally support Mugabe on the issue of ICC. African countries should as a matter of urgency withdraw their membership from ICC. That organisation is just another neo-colonial institution with the mandate to keep African leaders under Western control.
Robert Mugabe is the only African leader with guts to face Western leaders and say to them right infront of their faces; You guys are wicked, leave Africa alone.
Ride on Mr Mugabe. The treatment you suffered while in Nigeria and Ivory Coast was the handy work of the Wicked Ones.

The earlier buhari sacks Femi adeshina the better for him. That guy talks as if he doesn't think or do proper investigations on issues before commenting on them. I am expecting statement denial as usual since that has been what they have been doing or almost 100 days. Bunch of dullard expired brains.
The APC will soon refute what Adesina said later.
This administration is still buried in confusion three months after swearing in.

I wonder how people are taxed properly if assets aren't public?
The problem is more of a structural issue. The current structure ''Centralisation of economic activities'' at the center makes it difficult for individual states to formulate efficient tax systems.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Never Said He Would Declare His Assets Publicly, APC Did - Presidency by major466(m): 10:48am On Aug 15, 2015
Bollinger:
Therein lies the problem. you still don't understand. Why would anyone make such a pledge in the first place. Nigerians are naturally gullible and he gave you what you wanted to hear. I have never heard an american president make such a pledge. There is no need. If the law enforcement agencies are doing there jobs he won't have to. It's just like me saying "i pledge to pay my taxes". There is no need. If i don't, the IRS will definitely pursue me and hand me over to the appropriate authorities. Some things don't need to be said. The fact that he said it is a slap on law enforcement. If they are doing their jobs he won't have to. It should be a normal thing. But it's not in Nigeria.
According to the Nigerian law guiding Assets Declaration, the Code of Conduct Bureau has no obligation to make Public asset declaration by public officials, except with the Consent of the individuals in question. Except the law is amended to empower CCB to make assets declaration public, the agency can do nothing about it.
So as it stands, Buhari has no obligation to make his assets public even though he promised to do so and he failed. Thats the problem.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Never Said He Would Declare His Assets Publicly, APC Did - Presidency by major466(m): 10:12am On Aug 15, 2015
Bollinger:
what you all don't realize is that declaring assets would not matter if the law enforcement arm of the government was functioning properly. All assets should and always remain in the public domain for accessability. It's doesn't matter if you declare or not. You as an individual must explain where you got your wealth if called to do so at any time. Why Nigerians don't understand this beats me. There is a deeper problem which you all fail to admit. It is like people relying on jungle justice because the justice system has failed. A short cut to an existing problem.
This saga has nothing to do with law emforcement. Its a simple matter of fulfilling a pledge made to the people.
Buhari promised to make his asset declaration public, together with his appointees. So far he has not only failed to fulfill his pledge, he's now denying ever making such promise to Nigerians. That it was apc, not him in person. Is this not betrayal of trust to Nigerianshuh

Its a shame the way our generation is going. Educated illiterates plague our nation, pretending to be graduates. How can an executive hired in Osun state, who managed to climb the chain of command in the company to the post of Chief Information Officer be fired by the Osun branch he joined as a copyboy. The stupidity of this line of thinking is the reason for the recent poor waec results. Some diversionary schemes by the PDP based on the PDP staff brouhaha confused you people into lunacy. Revalidation of PDP staff does not translate to sack of a NWC executive.
You have been proved right. The news alleging sack of Olisa Metuh was false.

Maybe they took Kenya more seriously than Nigeria
Not necessarily. Western media backed by the West are generally hostile to countries that are potential world powers.
PoliticsRe: CNN Boss Flew To Kenya To Apologize Over Terrorism Slur by major466(m):
CNN are only trying to save their public image for commercial purposes. Deep in their hearts, they have no apology over what they said about Kenya. As a matter of fact, Kenya is not the first nor the last country insulted by CNN. The whole continent of Africa especially Nigeria have been insulted several times by the News Network. From misrepresenting the map of Niger as Nigeria during ebola crisis to outright lies and propaganda in the fight against terrorism. They do this deliberately to influence public opinion and negative perceptions among international viewers about Nigeria.
If CNN claimed to be truely sorry for the ''Hot bed of Terror' remark about Kenya, then they also need to apologise for the numerous insults and lies against Africa and Nigeria in particular.

Fighting corruption without tackling its root cause will be a waste of time.

This government is fraudulent...

Subsidy payment is now done in two ways in Nigeria under Buhari / APC government of fraud and propaganda.

Government subsidize fuel at N87/L

Nigerians pay the remaining subsidy between the official pump price of N87L and N107/L.

Buhari why ?

APC why ?
Exactly what I just found out. Looks like some states are enjoying more fuel subsidy at the expence of others.
PoliticsRe: NBS Reports N107 Per Litre Average Fuel Price Nationwide by major466(m):
The only solution to the persistent fuel crisis in this country is Deregulation. Unless the government totally hands up and open up the sector to allow Nigerians participate fully in oil activities, these problems will continue.
But why the sharp-price disparity between stateshuh How come Lagos and Kano have the lowest fuel price at N92 and Bayelsa is N155 per litrehuh
It will amount to wickedness and injustice if at the end of the day fuel subsidies has actually been implemented for select states instead of the entire federation.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Told Me & Obasanjo He Never Wanted To Be Vice-president - Donald Duke by major466(m): 2:00pm On Aug 11, 2015
I believe Donald Duke. The pair of Umaru and GEJ were not so popular nationaly during the 2007 elections compared to other notable presidential hopefuls. I remember vividly how all political pamutations collapsed when OBJ out of the blues presented the duo of Umaru/GEJ as presidential contenders, against widely popular candidates like Donald Duke, Odili and others in 2007.
Indeed OBJ is a very cunning man. In other to retain power indirectly, he choose two men that never interested in national leadership. The plan was to make them dependent on him for advice as they lead, thereby ruling Nigeria indirectly. No wonder Obasanjo was so pist off when GEJ decided that it was time for him to stand his ground as President and ignore him. Honestly OBJ has serious mental leadership problems.
Nevertheless, GEJ will remain my Hero because he came, serve and did his best against all odds.
