Crime / Re: South African Man Lied That This Man Caught With Drug Is A Nigerian (Photos) by Makaveli1166(m): 6:18pm On Sep 06, 2019
MelesZenawi:
Nigeria, Drug Cartels And Xenophobia In South Africa. THE FACTS.

I have a lot of problem with the authenticity and accuracy of these stories , I'm a graduate of the University of the Witwatersrand, now University of Johannesburg, I am married to a South African, I worked for the African union from inception until 2009, when I decided to relocate, so, from 1996-2009, that would be 13 years of living in South Africa, by virtue of having studied and worked in South Africa and speak Zulu fluently. Also, due to the nature of the work, it afforded me the opportunity to travel extensively within South Africa and Africa generally. So I can conveniently and confidently say that, I know South Africa and its people, very well.

Now, the issues raised in this write up concerning drugs is untrue, yes, some Nigerians are involved in drugs, but they didn't start it nor are they even in the majority, neither are they the kingpins of drugs, but the thing is Nigerians in South Africa are like the children of the Third Reich, damned for what they are and damned for what they're not.

Encapsulating the drug business in South Africa and prostitution, it would be wise to recognise that drug business was going on before the earliest Nigerians settled in SA, in Cape town, gang wars started in Cape flats amongst the colored people long before Nigerians got there, in Durban, there was drug trade by Indians from Pine town to the Promenade long before Nigerians saw the Indian Ocean in Kwazulu Natal,( note Durban is not a capital city like JHB. Pietermaritzburg is the capital city)

Now, in JHB, drug business by Nigerians are heavily situated in places like, Hillbrow, Berea, Yeovil, Orange grove, Ellis park, Rossettenville. These are areas heavily populated by foreigners of diverse origin.
Let me also shine some light on Prostitution before I conclude. Prostitution is a right of passage of 90% of South Africans, white, black, Indian, colored, the remaining 10% are Khoisan. An average South African girl of 15 years already has a child before the family will now aid her to move from the locations to JHB, Durban, Port Elisabeth, East London, Cape town or Tswane, which is by the way, the real name of Pretoria.

Native South Africans are extremely poor and as as a result crime and prostitution thrive in the Locations ( informal settlements) like Soweto, Alexandra, Tembisa, Lenasia and Eldorado park in Gauteng province, with JHB as capital city. Lamontville, port Shepstone, Umlazi, Umtata, Bluff, and other locations spread out in the Zululand, feed the crime and LovePeddler needs of Durban KZN. While in the Cape town is fed by, Gugulethu, Kylitsha, cape flats and neighbouring East London and Port Elizabeth.
The other provinces, like Bloemfontein, Limpopo and basically all of the former Northern Transvaal, Boputhatswana, flock to JHB, supported by migrating prostitutes from Namibian, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi and a smattering handful from Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho and Angola, not forgetting assassins from Mozambique and Zimbabwe. These completes the Violent crimes and Prostitution ring in South Africa.

Looking at drugs holistically, Nigerians, Tanzanians, Indians, Pakistanis' Italians and the Boer South Africans are indictable here, but in different categories.
The drug business are in three categories:-

1. Importers, ( drugs are not indigenous to South Africa) so they are imported from South America, Asia and Europe to SA. You might be wondering Europe? Yes, Europe, drugs is not restricted to Cocaine and Opium, inclusive also are, Fentanyl, Mandrax,Ecstasy, Acid paper e.t.c these come from Europe, they all find their way to South Africa and somebody brought them into the country and just about 10% of importers are Nigerians, are you now wondering who is then responsible for the remaining 90%? South African whites/Boers, yes most drug imports come from Holland which is the Boers original home. Have you ever wondered why there haven't been and major drug bust in the Airports or anywhere else in South Africa? Simple, its a Cartel, run by Indigenes, the Police, immigration and Customs.

2. These are the middle men, who now buy 50-60-70grammes, break it into 5gs and in turn sell to the third and final group in the drug dealing chain, called " Ndi-Atuke" .

3. Now, the third and final group who take the major risk in the business are the ones who may buy 5 or 10g and cook a part to sell as rocks and the other as powder, this group are the street urchins who market in small scale to whoever can afford it and this group are individuals that cannot afford to be cartels as they are constantly harassed by the Police and the Mafia, to pay protection money.

This third group, some of them team up with pristitutes to bring their customers ( mainly whites) to buy from them. So the prostitutes are already addicts, who are no longer accepted as residents in strip clubs like Summit club, Dorchester and other such clubs that dot the cities of South Africa like a reminder of its immediate gory past, they are the prostitutes and all Pinch sellers are guilty of such association and its not restricted to Nigerians.

Now to the reason why Nigerians are targets for this Xenophobic attacks are two tiered.
1. Once upon a time on Etv South Africa, there was a Talk show named "Third Degree" hosted by an Indian lady who was trying to divert attention of criminal acts from her stock to Nigerians, first of such shows was a Masacre that took place in a gay club called little Caesars, in the ensuing documentary, she blamed it on Nigerians and drugs, but when the case was finally busted, no Nigerian was involved. It was dobe by whites and Indians who hated Homosexuality.

The second documentary of note was the Moodly killing, Moodly, an Indian then a student in the University, reported his white girlfriend missing, and Mrs Pillay of Third degree concocted a story that Nigerians abducted her because of debt from drugs. At the conclusion of the investigation, when the body was found, autopsy indicated that the girl was not a drug user and that Moodley himself strangled and dumped her body before reporting her missing, again, no Nigerian involved.

2.. The second and most probable reason ( which even irritates me) Nigerian drug dealers in Hillbrow are lousy, Infact, if you see them misbehaving in South Africa, you'd think they're in the village and drug sale is a legal business. Others nationals more involved and richer are absolutely living non-descript lives, but their Nigerian counterparts in the lower rung are living flamboyantly with no obvious source of income.

So, in conclusion, Nigerians are not as was described in that write up, but they have simply constituted themselves into a "nuisance" in South Africa by their show-off. If they were the biggest drug dealers in South Africa, they would all be in prison by now. The biggest barons are big South Africans and are known to the government, that's why they are untouchables. Don't regard all their blame-shifting
There are lots of Nigerian professionals living and working in South Africa, even the face of Vodacom the largest telecom service provider is a Nigerian. Many small and medium scale businesses in South Africa are established and run by Nigerians. They create several jobs for South Africans.
There are so many Nigerian Doctors, lecturers, business men , Engineers holding places of pride in the economy and society. These are areas where the citizens don't even have the capacity to cover.
Finally, xenophobia has nothing to do with drugs, but lots to do with envy. They came to loot and kill. Do you fight crime with another crime?

It's normal. As people begin to grow and collide with reality as they leave the comfort provided by their parents, it's every man for himself. True friendship doesn't exist; every man is looking out for himself; and friends/relatives will easily throw you under the bus when it benefits them. You might be kind hearted and have helped people but they may betray and treat you like trash with ease when you are in need. It's common because human beings will be human beings. Take heart.

Take my advice, don't keep friends. Only have necessary and useful acquaintances and business partners. Stop having emotional connections with people. In a world filled with ravenous wolves, being too nice is a weakness. grin

Seyi is an egoistic, self-conceited schizophrenic while Mike is a domesticated, effeminated omega-male with a conflicting body build.
But both are letting their sexual frustration get the best of them hence these erratic behaviours...nothing more.

Why can't Mike jump down that high horse of marriage and give Jackye the sexual satisfaction they both desire from each other?
Has Seyi considered what good his full tank of semen can do if he offloads them on Tacha's stretchmarked brezz?

BBNaija is a sex-based behavioural reality show and sooner or later, these fools forming saint will realize that life is easy and they only shortchanged themselves when Queen Mercy bags the money only for shagging and for having a mega bubble butt.

So through! She was born in 1980= 38-39yrs ago, studied in Nigeria until age 16yrs then left for uk, in the mid 1990's. Now things are even worse, with Nigeria breaking her record of ASSUU Strike back to back in the 2000's and early 2010-2014. Power problems are becoming resistant to all solution (anyway we are hoping for the success of the new independent off grid power supply the the universities,as it will enhance research and learning).
Civil service is the latest and shortest route out of poverty and not technology and entrepreneurship, this slows creativity and innovative skills/critical thinking.
Security is almost at all time low since the civil war, with armed robbery and kidnapping/banditry the biggest cash cow for young boys and girls. Not forgetting the bokoharam menace which peaked in 2014-16 with bomb blasts in Jos,Kaduna, abuja, kano,Maiduguri, yobe...to name a few.
Preventable diseases are still killing people in numbers from plasmodiasis, salmonelliasis, hepatitis, malnutrition, cholera, lassa fever,.... to name a few.
Infrastructural decay associated with poor maintenance culture with "I don't care " attitude of the average Nigerian and Nigeria government is not helping matters.
Economy and commerce is now the laughing stock of the continent with successive government failing to invest enough on basic infrastructure to expand the economy, due to the kleptomaniac ability of those in power, then/now(leading to recession and stringent economic policies)
Preventive medicine/public health are at all time low except for the fight on HIV/AIDS but the steam is slowing down,as Nigeria government have taken 60-70% ownership of the program.
Education is now a luxury and prevailedge not a right. Infrastructure are poor for learning and research with 'certified non innovative" lecturers.
Unemployment...hmm,It's now a scourge!
Nigeria needs primary and simple solutions to solve her problems not the long apostle of "policy documents/roadmaps which lead to nowhere.
Education! free and accessible to all from primary and secondary schools but paid in tertiary institutions, create universities for specific fields (not universities of agriculture offering medicine and surgery) and allowed expert administrators man the institutions. Create infrastructure conducive for learning and research, allow technology and knowledge transfer by bringing in seasoned experts from abroad.
Promotion to lecturers must be best on breakthrough in their fields of specialty and research.
Healthcare. Headship of hospitals must go back to the hospital administrators (those who study hospital administration) not doctors. Doctors should head the clinical teams.

I'm thankful to the Almighty for Naira Marley.
Dude has subliminally made Naija folks feel less hypocritical about masturbation.

I'd say it and say it again,
Masturbation is a gift, if you aren't using it....you're worse than the biblical servant who buried his talents.

Have you ever sat back and imagined the number of unwanted pregnancies, STIs, rapes, forced marriages, heartbreaks, financial losses that could be prevented only if folks masturbated more?
There woulda been no prostittutes either.

I know this, I am always awed by its realization.
That's why I never fail to reach out my hands and grab my preek as a sign of appreciation to the most high.

Our God makes all things perfect, but his people perish for lack of knowledge.

Great points!
For me I have summarised the problem of Nigeria in one word..... Nigerians are too self-centred.
We take actions for our benefits alone not minding how it negatively affects the rest of the populace.

That's why a Nigerian will endanger the lives of others by bursting fuel pipeline just to get free petrol to sell for small change in his pocket. I don't think this happens elsewhere.
That's why a Nigerian is perfectly fine with tricking embassies or abusing visas to get his way at any cost even if other Nigerians will innocently suffer future visa denials because of his action.
That's why people steal money meant for public hospitals while others die of easily curable sicknesses.
That's why govt manages to build electricity infrastructure and another goes to steal or vandalise them putting others in avoidable darkness.
A bus driver knows his brake is faulty but will insist on managing it just to make money even if it causes passengers to die from brake failure.
The list goes on...

Being too religious - I give you a loan, time to pay up you start telling me "by God's grace"... Was God there when I gave you a loan? And I know that your salaries have been paid, you have withdrawn the money and you're telling me about God's grace. undecided undecided undecided

People would rather tarry in churches and other religious place of worship to fast and pray about Nigeria's problems, but simple things like paying their taxes, obeying traffic, returning lost items to the owners and all of what the OP listed above is a problem.

Nepotism and tribalism... Go to some offices, the whole place seems like a villiage market. You can tell who the DG or head of a unit of a particular MDA is by ethnicity of majority of the staff there. If a yoruba man is the DG... That ministry would be an extension of Ogbomosho LGA secretariat. If it's an IGBO, then expect an ARIA-RIA market setting, Hausa... You'll think the office is the National mosque liason office.
They don't advertise vacancies, they just slot in their relatives and kinsmen whether qualified or not. That's why our public service is the worst in the whole world!

Over dependency on luck and favour instead of skill and hardwork.
Majority of Nigerians believe you must be lucky or favoured to make it. They don't believe in hardwork and skill. That's why we're always relying on prayers for things God has already bestowed us with the ability to accomplish.

So, it was a party organized by a Black meetup Group I belong to, in Southern California. It was held at a local Hilton hotel. The pool parties are held twice a year, with the next one being in September. Yay cheesy

The tickets cost between $25 for regular admission, and $40 for VIP. Reasonable prices, if you ask me. I came with 3 friends - a Nigerian lady, an African-American dude and an African-American woman. The Naija lady is an Ijaw from Delta.

The cool thing about the party is that two of Davido’s tracks - “If” and “Banana fall on you” were played by the DJ. When those tracks came on, everyone went wild lol. I told my friend that this is Nigerian song, and he was like “this is better than some AA hip hop” grin Most if the songs played were American obviously.

Then, when it came time to order food - the menu prices ranged from $11 to $14 - I was disappointed by the service. I and some others had to stand in line for almost 30 mins before a server came to take my order. I guess the hotel was short-staffed for that day

Anyway, I ordered the humus - a popular Arab delicacy - with a Red Bull. I didn’t want to order an alcoholic drink because I had to drive over half an hour back to my place. I didn’t want the cops to have a reason to pull me over, in case I engaged in “buzzed” driving. Lol

Overall, I would say the party was so much fun, I enjoyed myself, especially when the ladies were twerking in front of me cheesy I would try to make it to the September event as well.
