That is not the point. The point of this conversation is that you lied that Olalere proposed a ban of social media and you have been corrected.
It is people like you Olayinka was referring to, people who twist the fact to suit their narrative against the government they are not satisfied with.
What he said is still a proposal, once it is adopted and included in the constitution, it becomes binding on all citizens of the country including those you mentioned.
More over, he who demands equity must come with clean hands, i am not against demanding accountability from our so called leaders but we the citizens, are we accountable? you in your little corner are you accountable? can those people around you testify to your accountability?
Because even you would do worse if you find yourself in the position of authority, most nigerians share the same DNA with these politicians, its just that they are crying because they are not beneficiary of the largese at the national level.
Olalere Olayinka risks being sacked if he continues to peddle anti-democratic ideas like banning or NIN-regulating social media.

Why?
1. He was never elected by any Nigerian.
2. Even his boss was never elected by Nigerians.

They are all mere appointees. Even Tinubu, who appointed them, is too politically wise to push such nonsense.

Nigeria of today is not the Nigeria of yesterday, the electorate is evolving fast. And if you think Nigerians won’t resist, think again. Pressure me, and I’ll take this fight directly to the people. I will launch a daily ₦100,000 giveaway on Nairaland just to spread awareness for Olalere Olayinka’s sack and removal by Wike.

Don’t make me do it.

Simple thing , you just deh blow grammar!

When has regulation become silencing ?

Na only criminals deh fear those rule and that's it .
Mr. Regulator, why is it always the citizens who must be regulated?

Who is regulating Yahaya Bello’s stolen funds?
Who is regulating the billions misappropriated by elected officials?

Why is it that the thief is the one now telling the farmer what kind of security he must put on his own farm?

Until those in power are held to the same standards they impose on the people, regulation is nothing more than hypocrisy in uniform.

Olayinka Olalere didnt recommend outright ban of social media, he only said people should be mandated to attach their NIN to their social media accounts. So that everyone can take responsibility for whatever they post on social media instead of hiding under the anonymousness of social media to spew hate, peddle fake news and stuffs like that. And I support him 1000%
Are the Senators attaching their NIN to the money they collect from the federation account?
Are the Governors attaching their NIN to the billions they spend every month?
Is Wike attaching his NIN to all the land allocations he signs off in Abuja?

So why must ordinary citizens suddenly be forced to attach their NIN to everything? Where in the Constitution is it written that every opinion, every speech, every word online must be tied to state identification?

If leaders are not held to that same standard of transparency, then demanding it from citizens is not governance—it is control.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu sacks Fegho Umunobo (SA, Digital & Creative Economy) by malali:
Remain that Wike's boy trying to instigate Nigerians by recommending social media censorship and bans. What’s your name again—Olayinka Olalere?

Can you not see what is happening in Nepal? Nineteen young people already dead in protests, all because the government thought banning social media and disconnecting apps would silence the people. Instead, it set the whole nation on fire. Citizens came out en masse to remove the government and reinstate their constitutional rights.

Yet here you are, unelected, going around the media to sell unconstitutional ideas. Nigeria doesn’t need mouthpieces for authoritarianism. If history teaches anything, it is that silencing voices only amplifies resistance. Don’t drag us down that path.

Foreign Affairs⭕️⭕️Nepal On Fire: When Corruption Meets A Generation Unwilling To Wait⭕️⭕️ by malali(op): 5:41pm On Sep 08, 2025
Nepal is burning, not with social media, not with petty rebellion, but with the pent-up fury of a generation that has watched decades of plunder and misrule.

The government’s recent ban of 26 popular apps was intended to silence youth voices. Instead, it lit the fuse of a righteous fury long in gestation. Nepali students are not protesting for trivialities, they are demanding what was stolen: a future, a nation, and the dignity of their parents’ sweat.

From the jet scandal that siphoned millions from public coffers, to opaque land grabs, to the egregious misuse of COVID relief while hospitals ran out of oxygen, the elite have transformed Nepal into a playground for kleptocracy. Each theft, each embezzlement, each abuse has been a brick in the wall that separates Gen-Z from opportunity.

Now, the youth have taken to the streets. And the government responds with bullets. Seventeen young lives have already been lost. Hundreds more injured. All for demanding accountability, transparency, and a chance to inherit a country that hasn’t already been sold off.

This is no ordinary protest. This is the clash between a generation and the corruption that stole their inheritance. It is Gen-Z vs. systemic impunity.

The world should watch closely. The lessons are universal: when a population is robbed of hope and the avenues of democracy appear blocked, youthful energy becomes an unstoppable force. Nepal is witnessing history being written in fire and courage, and the cost of silence from the global community could be measured in lives and lost opportunity.

Nepal’s youth are not merely protesting, they are reclaiming the soul of their nation. And the rest of the world must take heed, for the voice of the young is now a roar that cannot be ignored.

DeOTR:
Stop bringing statistics from thin air. You're not dealing with almajiris here.
Of course, you can't justify why almajiri states are being duplicated just for them to enjoy more national cakes unmerited and had to resort to Kwara State. Does Kwara State resemble your average northern state? Kwara is a progressive state with 65% Yoruba populations. We're not beggars.
I've added the screenshot for you to compare since you decided to manufacture your own data. Note that more than half of what you see coming from Oyo state is from the ibadan area. Please explain why we have a Niger or kebbi states, but we can't have ibadan state?
I will only engage in discussions where there is mutual respect and the maturity to agree to disagree without resorting to name-calling or personal attacks. You are welcome to present your evidence and statistics, but the moment this conversation devolves into insults, I will disengage and may block you.

Regarding the matter at hand, the fragmentation of states under military rule did not inherently lead to increased development, as you suggested with “Ibadan State.” On the contrary, evidence suggests that smaller, fragmented states often incur higher costs of governance without necessarily improving developmental outcomes. I still maintain that “Ibadan State” will not solve the issues at hand.

Your attempt to vilify the North is irrelevant to the discussion. The states were fragmented by military rulers for reasons that were their own; the populations did not request these divisions. We are now in a democracy, where changes are determined by votes, not by force or insults online.

I respectfully ask that you refrain from personal attacks. Disrespect will not be tolerated.

The proposed ibadan state as we know it is more economically viable than Niger would ever be. Ibadan metro alone is almost 4milli in population. What exactly are the remaining criteria after economic and demographic? Argue with statistics. I'm from Kwara State in case you're confused.
2023 Internally Generated Revenue (IGR)
• Oyo State: ₦52.74 billion (₦40.52B taxes + ₦12.12B MDAs)
• Kwara State: ₦59.64 billion (₦23.12B taxes + ₦36.51B MDAs)

Kwara generated more IGR than Oyo state in 2023. There are statistics to prove this and Kwara has more IGR growth than Oyo state. Voodoo politics must stop in Nigeria, we have numbers and statistics to prove it.

JustYourself:
States in Nigeria is equivalent of counties in USA and Nigeria a equivalent of sates in USA since some state in USA is as big as nigeria such as Alaska and california which almost equivalent, for me more states and LGAs should be created and LGAs made autonomous as this will help bring development much closer to the people and help reduce poverty as it is obtainable in UK.
The real problem in Nigeria isn’t that our states are too big , it’s that we have a managerial crisis. A competent governor, working hand-in-hand with diligent local government chairmen, can significantly reduce poverty. But when LGAs mismanage funds, equity disappears, and citizens suffer.

Some argue for the continuous splitting of states, but if we follow that logic to the end, we might as well split the entire country into fragments. Creating new states only piles up costs: a fresh government house, fleets of official cars, bloated payrolls with commissioners and aides , all of them focused more on self-enrichment than service. The money used to run a new state could have been better spent developing the existing region.

If any region aspires to statehood, let it first prove viability. For example, such a region should commit to remitting 100% of its targeted revenue to the Federal Government for at least four years. If they cannot demonstrate sustainable revenue generation, then it’s clear they are not ready. What most agitators want is not self-reliance but access to federal allocation.

Kebbi and Sokoto states have no business being two states. They should be one. Same as Kano and Jigawa. I don't even know why Yobe and Borno should be different states or Gombe and Bauchi.
Do you think Kebbi, Gombe, Jigawa or Yobe would have a state if they weren't before now?
Ibadan is more economically viable than all the aforementioned states combined. Ibadan satisfies every criteria for State creation, so I don't know your problem.

Tell us why Ibadan should be a state.
Have you been to Niger state ?
Have you been to kwara state ?

PoliticsRe: Eight Appointments Tinubu Reversed After announcements by malali: 10:42pm On Sep 04, 2025
Tinubu isn’t the one personally making these appointments.
• Most candidates are pushed by lobbyists, who present polished, “buffed-up” resumes to the president’s staff.
• Tinubu likely cannot even recognize many of these appointees if he walked past them in his own office.
• Often, once the appointments are announced and social media backlash hits, the administration quickly retracts or reshuffles them.

In short, the system is lobbyist-driven, and Tinubu acts more as a ceremonial rubber stamp than an active selector.

PoliticsRe: Ibadan Becoming A State Is Long Overdue - Olubadan-designate, Ladoja by malali:
What exactly is the criteria for demanding statehood?

If someone insists that Ibadan should be made a state, shouldn’t he face the public in a proper press conference to explain why?

Look at America:
• Texas is so massive you can drive 24 hours across it and still be in the same state.
• Some U.S. states even stretch across multiple time zones.E.g California.

Yet, they’re not breaking themselves up into little fragments every time someone feels entitled.

Meanwhile, here, every small local government with three roundabouts wants to crown itself a “state.” For what? Prestige? More political appointments? Access to federal allocation?

This constant agitation for micro-states is unserious. Real states are built around economic viability, infrastructure, and governance capacity, not just sentiment.

Until someone can define the hard criteria, population size, GDP output, landmass, resources, this noise about turning every LGA into a state is nothing but a distraction.

From today, let’s begin documenting this crisis. Every truck accident, every wreck, take pictures, share them, let the world see the scale of the problem. Silence is complicity.

I personally avoid road travel, even when it means not seeing my own parents, because of the terror these trucks create. That’s how deep this menace cuts into our lives.

This fight is only beginning, and it will not stop until accountability is enforced.

Truck owners must step up:
• Re-train your drivers.
• Build proper rest stops so they don’t collapse at the wheel.
• Stop using highways as parking lots.
• Display hotlines on every truck for reporting reckless driving.
• Launch a public platform where citizens can upload videos and photos of reckless trucks, directly alerting authorities.

These are simple, life-saving measures.

The era of slaughtering innocent people with trucks while raking in billions in profit is over. A society that values human life cannot allow this to continue.

We are just starting. And we will not relent.

All ASDA trucks in uk are under ASDA, If you get hit by an ASDA truck you sue ASDA for liability
