Lifestone:What reforms ? He has been there for 2 years telling me a metric showing that the lives of Nigerians are any better ? |
Idobalé o şe iwa. |
Golan007:I will tell you why.....This is because this administration is using the $1 = 1500naira to calculate the debt now. We are owing more in Naira than when Tinubu took office, but they are deceiving the public by calculating the Debt at the New Exchange rate. • As of December 31, 2023: Nigeria’s public debt stood at ₦97.34 trillion (approximately $108.23 billion). • As of December 31, 2024: The public debt rose to ₦144.67 trillion (approximately $94.23 billion). If you borrow $10 from me when it was 300naira to a dollar.......you have borrowed 3000naira When the exchange rate is now $1 to 1500naira You now tell Nigerians we only owe $2 which is 3000naira But in reality we still owe that $10 which is now 15000 naira Our debt went from 3000naira to 15000 naira. And Tinubu is still borrowing more. |
LibertyRep:They are doing the same thing to Nigeria today. Gaddafi stood in their way and they killed him. Tinubu is accepting all the loans, anything they tell him to do he does it quick. What if they are blackmailing him with the reports of his Chicago drug case ? Because the way he is kowtowing to IMF and world bank accepting all their loans and policies, is at record high. |
We keep propping up the Naira with Loans. Its just a matter of time , with falling oil prices and a regime that's not bringing in any other income but spending money on White elephant projects. The dollar will be 3000 Naira very soon. |
Libya's dinar has plunged to record lows, driven by a sharp decline in oil revenues and escalating political unrest. The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) devalued the currency by 13.3% on April 6, setting the official rate at 5.5677 dinars per U.S. dollar—the first such move since 2020. However, the black-market rate has soared to over 7.20 dinars per dollar, reflecting deepening economic instability.? In a modest sign of recovery, Harouge Oil resumed production at its Amal Fields B-102 well, pumping 1,500 barrels per day. While this development offers a glimmer of hope, analysts caution that isolated production gains cannot offset broader declines in national oil revenues driven by political strife and operational disruptions.? The devaluation has sparked criticism from key governmental bodies. The Presidential Council and the High Council of State argue that the move exacerbates Libya’s fiscal woes and erodes citizens’ purchasing power. They cite an absence of a unified national budget and the proliferation of parallel spending entities as core drivers of the crisis.? This criticism could spark further unrest as the two rival clans that control Libya’s, east and west, continue to jockey for leverage over institutions. Meanwhile, political factions in eastern Libya have shut down major oil fields in protest over disputes at the central bank, further curtailing oil exports—Libya’s primary source of foreign currency. The Central Bank reports that public debt now stands at 270 billion dinars, with forecasts indicating it could exceed 330 billion dinars by year’s end without urgent fiscal reforms.? As international observers call for political reconciliation and robust economic reform, Libyan officials face mounting pressure to restore market confidence and stabilize an economy teetering on the brink of deeper crisis.? Complicating matters, Russia has been increasing its influence in Libya, aligning with eastern factions and deploying military assets to strategic locations. This growing presence has raised concerns among Western nations, who fear that Libya could become a new front in broader geopolitical tensions in addition to the specter of another civil war. Despite these image laundering official statements highlighting economic recovery and prosperity under President Bola Tinubu, a closer examination reveals concerns regarding increased borrowing and depletion of foreign reserves. 1. Increased Borrowing: • In 2024, Nigeria raised $3.8 billion in debt through various instruments, including a $900 million domestic bond, a $2.2 billion Eurobond, and $750 million from a World Bank loan package. 2. Depletion of Foreign Reserves: • Nigeria’s foreign reserves experienced a significant drop of $1.19 billion in just three weeks in early 2025, decreasing from $40.877 billion at the end of December 2024 to $39.723 billion by January 31, 2025. 3. IMF Projections: • The International Monetary Fund (IMF) projected that Nigeria’s foreign reserves would decline to $24 billion in 2024, citing factors such as decreased hydrocarbon exports, profit repatriation, and lack of new Eurobond issuances. These points suggest that the narrative of economic recovery may overlook underlying challenges related to increased debt and reserve depletion. The government needs to come out and be honest to its citizens, lying every time is not the way forward. We are not illiterates. |

Sycophants everywhere since poverty has been weaponized. Not a single person pledging loyalty to Nigeria. They are all pledging loyalty to who can pay them. Our democracy has never been on sale like it is right now. In all 3 arms of government its a cash and carry loyalty. |
This N10 billion “solar mini-grid” project at the Presidential Villa is not innovation — it’s a gleaming white elephant designed to drain public coffers with a solar smile. How do you justify spending ₦10 billion on powering one building, when the national grid is in cardiac arrest and people can’t even afford recharge cards, let alone power bills? It’s like ordering rice and beans for ₦2,000… then paying ₦1 million for puff puff while you wait. What sort of budget logic is this? And what’s worse? This is just the pilot episode. Soon, all 36 state governors will hop on the “Solar Grid Madness Express”. Some will even take out new loans to “solarize” empty government houses, and we’ll be watching billions leak out like fuel from a broken tanker. All of this after over ₦1.99 billion was already budgeted for diesel, and ₦6 billion annually goes to electricity. We were told this was about cost savings — but it’s looking more like a money-laundering greenwashing scheme. Let’s call this what it is: a luxury scam disguised as sustainability. This administration, for all its talk of renewed hope, continues to show a level of tone-deafness, creative bankruptcy, and sheer financial recklessness that future regimes will be forced to service like a cursed inheritance. Why not pilot a national solar solution for public hospitals, schools, or local governments? Why always start with the Presidential Villa, where generators already hum louder than the Constitution? N10 billion for solar at Aso Rock is not about clean energy — it’s about cleaning out the treasury. |
Tinubu and Wike are playing good cop bad cop with Fubara. Advanced street...... ![]() Wike: I wanted to kill him Tinubu: I hit him on the head so that when he faints, Wike will think he is dead |
If the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria were a piece of machinery, it would be a generator that hums loudly, guzzles fuel, and powers absolutely nothing. What Pastor Tunde Bakare described is not hyperbole—it’s the painful truth many Nigerians murmur under their breath daily. The 10th Senate has perfected the art of legislative abdication, a rubber stamp body so devoid of spine it cannot even twitch without Aso Rock’s remote control. Where is the oversight? Where is the dissent? Where is the boldness that once made the legislature the heartbeat of democratic defense? Instead, we now have a theatre of elite clowning, with senators more concerned about parking allocations and social media clout than with bills that protect lives or empower constituents. Worse, the illegal suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, simply for questioning budgetary opacity, confirmed what many feared: This Senate isn’t only useless, it’s hostile to accountability, allergic to intellect, and weaponized against progress. Bakare is right. Nigeria doesn’t just have a dysfunctional Senate; we have a parasitic extension of executive arrogance, cloaked in agbada and sustained by taxpayer naira. |
Body do you like say na Anthony Joshua you fight, abi ? God saved you that he didnt kill you.......... He beat you, as if Burnaboy paid him to finish you....... Na to just dey run your mouth, You go dey fight like transgender....... |

nurex01:Whats a good whole sale price for 50 pieces iphone 13 256gb Is 15k dollars a good deal ? I noticed you sell computer stuff. |
numericalguy: I dont hate anyone, just commenting......LOL Lets try to stop taking things personal......If i want Tinubu out its because his policies arent working I dont hate him, i dont really care about him. If his policies were working, i would want him to stay. That also doesn't mean i like him. Can you grasp that concept ? |
numericalguy:I dont smoke anything. The times are different, Tinubu did it with the support of the whole North. If tinubu and GEJ stand in a free and fair election......today ! GEJ can beat Tinubu.... |
Cmanforall:True, but now he has name recognition all over Nigeria. He can be a sellable candidate. GEJ will still beat OBI anyday. He has more votes even when he lost to Buhari. |
ScamDemicEra:I never said it would be easy. I will bet 1 million dollars, no one will beat Tinubu as Incumbent. |
NigeriaIsGreat:Tinubu is in bed with all the northerners that would support Atiku. He is paying party loyals and also oppositions a massive amount of money. Appointments and all. |
olabrad:No scamming activities on Nairaland. |
surgical:We have to look for another Candidate Obi cannot be Tinubu as of today. He is too sectarian |
sleek214:We have to look for another Candidate Obi cannot be Tinubu as of today. He is too sectarian |
Hoelujohn:You cant blame them, poverty has been successfully weaponized by Tinubu's regime Especially with the removal of subsidy all the straight arrow full time politicians without side hustle are now at Tinubu's mercy. |
Cmanforall:The forces against him then were a lot.Hwas seen as taking the Norths slot since Yaradua died. |
newnigerdelta1:Questionnaire Say your own self !!! |
Who are the possible southerners that can pose a real threat to Tinubu ? Jonathan Goodluck, why ? Nigerians are tired of APC, Tinubu is here pretending to be solving problems caused by his own party. Nigerians are fed up of these scams. GEJ has name recognition. He can only serve one term at the most. This is an attractive option for a lot of interest group. Peter Obi. Obi doesn't have the GEJ effect, he is a little bit over zealous. He needs a formidable northern candidate, someone who is a strong candidate than can win at least 3 states with minimal effort even before party structure steps in to help him. Obi has to win the whole South East and repeat his Lagos effect. Peter Obi should have been in talks with someone who can deliver this in the North. Tinubu will be the hardest Incumbent to defeat. He is veteran politician. He has a lot of people in his pockets. Even some of the oppositions running around and making a lot of noise are in Tinubu's pockets. He is also using poverty as a weapon. Very few politicians can challenge him because they want to eat as well. Atiku is a formidable candidate but he will be difficult to sell. Why, IF he wins he will likely do 2 terms. which some northerners will frown upon. Because they are more comfortable with Tinubu who only has 4 more years if he wins. There are some strong Nigerian forces that don't want Atiku to ever be president. I don't know why. Some of them smile with him and he visits them in their houses regularly, taking pictures with them....lol |
How can Rivers people allow a Retired Military Calabar man to rule over them. When Rivers elected a governor democratically......lol When there is no coup in the whole country. What happened to all the men in Rivers ![]() ![]() Did they all turn to women ??This can never happen in any Northern State. You cannot bring a Sokoto man to be Special Administrator in Kaduna. LOL....He wont even accept it. |
