So in effect, you are afraid to respond.
I am questioning your motive of opening the thread, which is nothing other than to mislead. The first paragraph of any news captures the main points of whatever the person being interviewed surmised. Here's the whole news. Read with an open mind and tell me what Buhari is trying to say. And also, I challenge you to tell me what is Obasanjo's view on this issue.

Presidential candidate for the Congress for Progressive Change in the 2011 Presidential election, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has frowned on the emergency rule in parts of the North. He alleged that innocent civilians were being killed in the states.
Buhari speaking during a Liberty FM Hausa Service Programme, Guest of the Week, on Sunday in Kaduna said that Boko Haram members were being killed and their houses demolished unlike the “special treatment” given to the Niger Delta militants by the Federal Government
Buhari, who also blamed President Goodluck Jonathan for failing to tackle the security problems in the country, argued that the challenges started in the Niger Delta.
He said, “What is responsible for the security situation in the country is caused by the activities of Niger Delta militants.
“Every Nigerian that is familiar with happenings knows this. The Niger Delta militants started it all. What happened is that the governors of the Niger Delta at that time wanted to win their elections, so they recruited youths and gave guns and bullets to them to use against their opponents to win elections by force.
“After the elections, they asked the boys to return the guns, and the boys refused to do so. Because of that the allowance that was being given to them by the governors was stopped.”
Buhari said his joining the proposed All Progressives Congress was not all about securing the party presidential ticket for the 2015 elections.
According to him, the formation of the APC and his joining the group is to help effect the needed change in the polity and not just about his presidential ambition.
He declared, “If APC fails to give me the ticket, I will remain in partisan politics and in the party. Anyone the party picks as its candidate, I will support him because I will remain in the APC.”
Besides, Buhari noted that the problem of the country was that of bad leadership, which the APC was out to change.

NairalandOP:
Not true. Check the facts. Buhari made this comment around June 2013 meanwhile Boko Haram began killing civilians as early as 2011.

Just do a Google search for "Boko Haram Timeline Of Attacks"
Your motive for opening this thread is questionable. So, whatever is said will be twisted.
PoliticsRe: Why Did Buhari Criticise The Killing Of Boko Haram Members In The Past? by MalcoImX: 4:37pm On Jan 02, 2015
At a certain time, they too were not attacking civilians. And the general concern of Buhari then was the civilian casualties being recorded.
PoliticsWe've No Case With Buhari Over Certificates – INEC by MalcoImX(op): 11:33pm On Dec 31, 2014
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said yesterday that the failure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari to submit his academic qualifications to the commission will not cause any alarm to the candidate.
INEC had on Monday displayed the presidential and National Assembly aspirants as nominated by their parties, where Buhari’s academic qualifications could not be spotted alongside other flag-bearers.
The APC presidential candidate however stated in an affidavit that “I am the above-named person and deponent to this affidavit therein. All my academic qualifications documents as filled in my presidential form, President APC/001/2015, are currently with the Secretary, Military Board as of the time of presenting this affidavit...”
But in an interview with some journalists yesterday, spokesperson of the INEC chairman, Kayode Idowu said the electoral body had no power to screen candidate’s
qualifications, as it remains their parties’ duties.
“When parties file their nominees, the law requires that INEC should display those nominees for claims and objections. If objections are made to those claims, the
commission reverts back to the political parties because the statutory mandate is on the parties to nominate their candidates and not to allow INEC to choose their candidates for them,” he said. “It is their job, they sort it out before they bring their nominee to the commission. So, the commission has no role in disqualifying candidates,” Idowu said.
Asked on the specific case of Buhari’s certificates issues, the spokesperson insisted not to speak about individual candidate but on general requirement contained in the process.

My position remains that Goodluck Jonathan does not deserve a second term! However, the same constitution that we derive our power to vote out Jonathan is the same constitution that provide for freedom of movement and right to association. I am not saying that the north should accept Jonathan, all I am saying is that his rejection should come through a constitutional means without harrassment of his associates or employees. I feel their pains honestly!
Barcanista, it's not about freedom of movement or right to associate. Look at it this way: Whatever Sule Lamido is trying to do here is what the drivers are trying to do at their level.

I listened to Buhari`s interview with Channels TV and heard lots of `my party will decide`.

So far, Buhari has not shown any sign of opposing his party on any issue. He did not like the cost of purchase of nomination form yet could not take a stand against it as one of the pillars of the party. He even conceeded his right to choose a running mate to Tinubu, a party member of equal standing like him self. I am really at loss at what made you believe that Buhari will be different from who he is now.
You want him to impose himself so that you accuse him of dictatorial tendencies. You people accuse him of being undemocratic, and now that he's playing by the rules you're again accusing him of being a lackey.

I am a frontline critic of Buhari but I try to avoid calling him a bigot or Muslim Fanatic because for me I personally feel that topic alone clouds other very poor qualities of Buhari which is the fact that the man does not really offer much in terms of leadership, brilliance, grasp of the issues or solution on how to move the country forward.

But when Sule Lamido says this about Buhari then we have to listen. Hausa Fulani muslim Northerners are not known to criticise fellow Muslims on issues of Faith and ethnicity. Yet Lamido can not be described as one of Jonathan's staunchest ally.

But the allegations that Buhari campaigns in the North as the defender of the Islamic faith but comes to the South to preach about National Unity really needs to be explored. These are very serious allegations!

Now Lamido went on to criticise Jonathan Goodluck because of the comments of Edwin Clarke and Asari Dokubo. I agree that Asari and Clarke needs to be called to order but there is a difference between ethnic warlords making threats on behalf of the candidates and a Presidential candidate directly playing religious card openly in the North while saying something else in the South.

This is serious
Good day Sir. It's not about Hausa-Fulani saying whatever about his brothers. Sule Lamido has long seen Buhari as impediment to his political ambitions in the North. Go back, even before now. He hardly gives an interview without Buhari featuring.
PoliticsRe: It’s A Grave Sin For Muslims To Vote Non- Muslims – Islamic Cleric by MalcoImX: 10:00am On Dec 30, 2014
A fake twitter account by a certain Ima Sadiq, tweeting @imamsadiq123 has surfaced to discredit the Presidential candidacy of General Muhammadu Buhari of the opposition AllbProgressive Congress.
The account which was started on Friday and has some 51 followers is posing as a Buhari supporting Islamic cleric, suggesting that Buhari’s singular mission in Aso Rock is to entrench the Shariah law. Already vigilant social media users have rubbished the twitter account as an attempt to discredit Buhari’s candidacy by echoing the propaganda that have been used over the years to portray Buhari as a religious fanatic.

You are mixing the two. An affidavit is sworn by those who've had what's required and are therefore qualified. It is not equal to or a replacement of your credentials. It is just a legal document presented testifying that you've had those qualifications but for some reasons ate not available. You'd have a point if you'd shown us where the law is broken.

well said! But I disagree with you on this "issues such as this doesn't count."... I disagree because issues like this should count! our Democracy has to improve, we have to set standards for ourselves... if in developed countries candidates and running mate resign from contesting election just because of minor issues like sex scandals and bad parental up bringing of their wards or kids this country called Nigeria should not be different... if things continue like this then I bet you some day soon someone accused and convicted of murder would want to run for president of this country and all we would say is "In Nigeria issues such as this doesn't count."
