Case settled, constitutionally. It's left to Fayose, FFK, OBJ, Gumi, Kukah, Agbakoba, Omokri, and Atikulates to go to court and prove that Buhari wasn't educated to a school certificate level. Pls don't quote if your arguments are emotion-based. |
Elections are around the corner again. Politicians and political parties are scheming on how to take over power or how to retain power in places where they are in charge, and therefore political shenanigans, propaganda, lies, outright falsehoods and even hate speeches are all on the increase at this time. These are not the best times for those who value character and decency. I read somewhere some people are calling on INEC to disqualify President Buhari from contesting the 2019 general elections because he doesn’t have his school certificate. Very laughable, how many times will they try the same old trick? President Buhari has been contesting elections since 2003. Between 2003 and now there have been four election circles Buhari has contested in all these elections. At no point was the issue of his WAEC certificate questioned until suddenly in 2015 as soon as he won his party’s primaries. Those who knew he was unstoppable from there on, began to unleash different ludicrous propaganda after propaganda. From “Buhari will Islamize Nigeria” to” Buhari is terminally ill”, to” Buhari has no certificate”. All of their propaganda fell flat on their faces. Now that elections are around the corner, they have resurfaced again with the “ Buhari has no certificate “ propaganda. It will be a complete waste of effort this time as this election is going to be about issues and not propaganda. The election is going to be about track records of the different parties while in office. The people are going to be comparing the roads now and then, they will compare power supply now and then. The parents of the over 7 million schools pupils being fed every school day will compare now and then. The over one million most vulnerable poorest of the poor amongst us receiving 5000 Naira conditional cash transfer every month, the over half a million graduates receiving 30,000 Naira every month all of these people will compare the party in power now with the performance of those who left power in 2015. These are what the Nigerian people will be discussing in 2019 not some mundane propaganda, sponsored by some failed politicians who squandered the opportunity to better the lot of the people whilst they were in power. Let me also use this opportunity to dismiss their lies. The constitutional requirement to run for office of the President are very clear and unambiguous. Section 131 (d) of the 1999 constitution states that: “A person shall be qualified for election to the office of the president if”, subsection (d); “He or She has been educated up to at least school certificate level or its equivalent”. Many legal luminaries addressed this issue in the run up to the 2015 elections, so many legal opinions on this section. One of such that will help anyone interested in more clarity on this issue is the article written by the legal luminary Prof Taiwo Osipitan in the Guardian on the 26th of January 2015. He dealt extensively on the fact that the requirement was for such aspiring candidate to show evidence of education up to or even equivalent of school certificate. In the case that your certificate is missing like every other vital missing document an attestation letter can then suffice which INEC can confirm with the school. This is a very simple matter that some mischievous people hope to draw some political points from. President Buhari’s former school , Government College, formerly Provincial Secondary School Katsina, released a statement that Buhari actually graduated from the school and that he wrote the School certificate Examination there. The school later went ahead to release the result to the public, including a copy of the result spread sheet showing other candidates who sat for same exam with their results as well. So what other evidence would the detractors of the President require before they are satisfied? In an interview granted to the Punch newspapers on the 13th of November 2016, Chief Alex Ajayi, the octogenarian who was a former director at the West African Examination Council (WAEC) mentioned in the interview and I quote him “I had the opportunity of issuing WAEC certificates to three former Heads of State; Buhari, Abacha and Babangida in the 60s”. It is outright ridiculous and very mischievous to claim that President Buhari isn’t educated up to school certificate level. A man that rose to the pinnacle of his career . A general in the Army . He has attended several courses across the different continents of the world. There are those who believe that the PDP might have sponsored some people to tamper with President Buhari’s documents with the army. If not, how could this suddenly just be an issue in 2015. The same forms he submitted to INEC 2003, 2007 and 2011 and this issue was not raised, then suddenly in 2015 his documents are missing. I am tending to believe in this line of thoughts by now. If not, how do you confidently wake up and then start accusing a retired general of the Nigeria army that he didn’t attend secondary school. There must be something informing such confidence may be they know something we don’t know. In 2015 whilst President Buhari and his party were out there campaigning, telling the people what they will do. I remember a politician and his fellow party man were busy selling propaganda to the people calling Buhari all sort of names. Rather than tell the people what they have done and what they intend to do better they rather preferred abuse and propaganda. We all saw what the outcome was President Buhari trumped them at the polls with a wide margin. The Nigerian people will have none of their nonsense any more. The Same thing is already playing out now. President Buhari as usual will not join issues with anybody. He has been focused on the job at hand, commissioning projects up and about the whole country, on the other hand those who are challenging to take over are not telling Nigerians what they will do better but want to start the nonsense they did the other time and lost, again. The propaganda that could not save them whilst in power is not likely to get them back to power now that they are out. Nigerians are interested in real issues that affect them daily. Not mundane propaganda about President Buhari’s health or certificate. By Philip Agbese. Quorax:Which guy be dat? |
Princedapace:We'll arrive, small small.
|
Princedapace:Those petty traders have a different opinion from you. |
Britishcoins:Minna, Niger state has reported. Kudos to PMB/VPO. |
chibike69:It's a national scheme, and N10,000 is something especially to those women who've utilized the amount. Some have bought livestock, which with time will increase and some have started petty trading in their houses. |
Built2last:You mean there's honour even among thieves. |
I came across some women in my state full of thanks to Buhari and the scheme. I also heard them saying that there's Atiku own which is N50,000. I told them there's nothing like Atiku's own; it's just to discredit this one and get your votes. It is a fraud, I added. |
CilicMarin:Let's have reports from the states. What are the traders saying about the scheme. Let's put a lie to those who are saying that the government is just out to deceive the people, that nothing is to be disbursed. |
Petty Traders in Onitsha Main Market have received N10,000 Federal Government small business scheme known as TraderMoni. The traders, who had earlier registered for the scheme, on Thursday, during the official disbursement of the cash scheme at White House Main Market Onistha received credit alerts of N10,000 as the first stage of the scheme in their mobile phones. It was excitement and jubilation as over 200 petty traders within and around the market receives TraderMoni bank alerts which they were earlier termed to be a fraud. But, when bank alerts started hitting different beneficiaries’ phones, the situation changed even those who were yet to receive their alerts were anxiously waiting and discussing with the officials of the disbursement contractor at the venue on what next to do to receive their alerts. The Project Supervisor of Generating Demand Management (GDM) of the enrollment, activation and disbursement company, handling the project in conjunction with Bank of Industry, BOI, Mr. Adebowale Bakare said they targeted 30,000 beneficiaries from Anambra State. According to him, “Those who are receiving their bank alerts today for the TraderMoni, were those who enrolled a month ago when the group visited for the market for enlightenment, the people who are enrolling today will not be paid today, is only those who enrolled last month we are here to pay but everybody that enrolled will be paid. “We are here today for enrollment of new beneficiaries, data activation of next set of beneficiaries and disbursement for the beneficiaries whose enrollment has matured, the programme has been on but people are not embracing it before now. “The traders are given N10,000 to pay back N10, 250 in six months to collect N15,000, pay back N15,375, before another six months to collect N20,000, and then pay back N21,000 to collect N50,000 and to pay back N52,500 to collect N100.000.” Some of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Gladys Nwafor and Eunice Imo, sachet water sellers commended Federal Government for the loan, adding that it would help them in boasting their business, and appealed for its continuation. Mrs. Nwafor said that she will use the money to go into Garri selling to make more gain in order to collect higher amount of money for more expansion in her business. http://sunnewsonline.com/jubilation-as-onitsha-pretty-traders-receive-n10-000-fg-tradermoni-scheme/ |
Everybody changes. Atiku, Saraki, Dino and many others changed parties too. El-Rufai was once with OBJ before he saw the light. OBJ was worst. He said God won't forgive if he supports Atiku to rule over Nigerians. What changed? As he (Obj) once said, Atiku is someone who believes money can buy everything - maybe including OBJ. |
Built2last:Why s Nnamdi saluting PDP people? |
thunderfirebuha:Thus is the felliw I am talking about. You go about pasting this on every thread to fuel fires and create divisions amongst people. You are the type this message is referring to. Why spamming everywhere with this article? You know what you're doing, but you won't succeed. |
Sprumbabafather:It is definitely a factor. There is a fellow here on Nairaland who goes about pasting stories on Rtd. Gen. Danjuma blowing hot about Buhari as the sponsor of 'Fulani herdsmen' killings, to the extent that Gen. Danjuma is urging boycott of the elections and urging people of the Middle Belt to take up arms. You sure knows what the fellow's intention is. These stories inflame passions, change narratives and can make some to act. IPOB, for example, do this regularly. They abuse the minds of their supporters and some act on their messages. There's a story out now that Kanu will address IPOB tomorrow to unmask that Buhari we're seeing is not the real one, but 'Jubril' from Sudan. What's the purpose if not to just cause confusion and mislead? |
I expect more vitriols from this Buhariphobic as Atiku don "see" am for Dubai. |
Bethel4Life:Biafra time or Kanu time? |
Why always 6 PM? Meanwhile; New Nursery Rhyme on Nnamdi's Dog That He Values More Than IPOB Members. Jack In My Heart // Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack jump over The candlestick. // Jack be nimble Jack be quick, You just jump over the candlestick, But Nnamdi jump over a house wall, // You and the comrades, Were abandoned, Both to die of master's neglect, In his zoo in Abialand. // But You Jack, Nnamdi only remembered, By lighting a candle for, In faraway Jerusalem. // All Biafrans, And Nigerians, Know you occupy a special place, In Nnamdi's and Biafra's heart. // Your name, From Biafra to Naija and Israel all is known, But not a single of the 28 comrade's names, Ohamadike thought we ought to know |
crestedaguiyi:How is it out of context? The allusion is to Results and Excuses, which the quote rightly juxtaposed. |
Usain Bolt, Jesse Owen, Tyson Gay, Asafa Powell, Ben Johnson Carl Lewis, Maurice Green, Justin Gatlin and all the world's greatest sprinters didn't become greats by just starting the race - they finished it. "The PDP said the project was conceptualised, articulated and financed by its administration." Please help me ask PDP, who dey chop conceptualize? na completion matter. |
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has blasted President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress, APC, for commissioning the Port Harcourt Airport Terminal. The party accused Buhari of being only good at commission projects the PDP started and financed. The PDP said the project was conceptualised, articulated and financed by its administration. The PDP said this in a statement Thursday by its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan. The party said Nigerians were thoroughly amused when President Buhari’s handlers brought him to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for the first time since his inauguration in 2015, only to orchestrate another failed attempt to claim credit for project executed by others. “If anything, the Buhari administration, in its incompetence, only succeeded in delaying the completion of the project, which was perfected by the PDP, including payments to contractors. “It is to say the least appalling that after three and half years, a President, who is seeking reelection, cannot point to any development project, initiated and executed by his administration in any part of our country. “Instead, our dear President has been moving around trying to claim credit for projects executed by the PDP, all in a desperate attempt to cover his failures in governance”, the statement added. The PDP recalled that the President and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), had similarly attempted to claim credit for the Abuja Light Rail Project, saying that it’s public knowledge that the project was conceptualised and policy-propelled by the PDP. “We know that President Buhari is eager to stuff up his false performance claims ahead of election, but doing so with the achievements of others is the height of desperation and deceit, which has already become repugnant to majority of Nigerians and the international community. “The PDP therefore counsels President Buhari’s handlers to use the remaining days of his failed administration to prepare him to get ready to accept his imminent defeat in 2019, as Nigerians have already rallied behind our candidate, Atiku Abubakar, whose performance credential is known to all,” the PDP said. http://dailypost.ng/2018/10/25/2019-pdp-attacks-buhari-commissioning-port-harcourt-airport-terminal/ |
Hmm, everybody is looking for dollars from Atiku. What an irony in the land of the 'biggest' job creator in Nigeria. Sorry o, as the 'jobs' created by Atiku no reach you. You no see your councillor, your LG chairman, HOA, NASS members, and your governor, na Buhari you dey see. Now that the 12 hours has expired why you no carry out your threats? |
Very illogical. Around 1985 brand new cars were selling for less than 20K. By the time PDP left, it takes millions to acquire one brand new car. What would you say to that? |
Let him "Ku" now, no be Atiku people. You get strength to climb that thing and you dey complain of hunger. dis Atiku type people with dead minds. What would the physically challenged do able as able bodied men refused to work? |
Say what you want to say, the treasury will never be opened for you as was the case during GEJ.

My mind keeps coming back to Buhari. |
ideynl1:Read well, it's a northern group. They went to OBJ and the statement was issued in Abeokuta. |
At least, we'll now have less of those abuses from Nnamdi. He's caged himself in a zoo he created. |
The Northern Youths Leaders Forum (NYLF) has called on the presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, to reconsider his choice of Peter Obi as running mate, if he hopes to enjoy the total support of the north and win the 2019 general elections. The group, which says it serves as the umbrella body for 46 northern youth organisations, with over six million members, equally threatened to mobilize massively against the PDP if Abubakar sticks with Obi as his deputy. National chairman of the northern group Elliot Afiyo made this known in Abeokuta on Tuesday while speaking with the media. Afiyo, saying that the body had been instrumental to the electoral victories of successive presidents since 1999, including the incumbent president, Muhammadu Buhari, stated that NYLF played a critical role in reconciling former president Olusegun Obasanjo with Atiku, who was his vice president. The group, he added, had met with Obasanjo on Monday night to make its position known on the matter. He explained that, apart from the ruckus Obi’s choice has caused in the South East, which according to him is largely responsible for the impending defection of Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu from the PDP, Obi is viewed as anti-North and a major sponsor of Igbo separatist group Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) by northerners. Afiyo further added that over 70 percent of Emirs and other traditional rulers in the north will not support Atiku’s choice of deputy, maintaining that the PDP would fail to produce the next president should the party eventually go with the Atiku/Obi ticket. “Atiku is an experienced politician, and he knows what happened and, as a northern Nigerian, he cannot ignore the group. I have spoken to almost all the South East governors and they told me that they remained in the PDP because of their governorship elections and after their governorship elections they will vote somewhere not PDP,” he said. “And for us to ignore those stakeholders, it is political suicidal; so we must agree with that fact. That was what we told Obasanjo yesterday – that as far as we want to Atiku to succeed, he has no alternative than to drop Peter Obi, and with the contention between Peter Obi’s group and the Ike Ekweremadu group, it is not political convenient again to pick a running mate from the South East. Because whichever group you pick from, the other group will work against them. “Then, in the North, we consider Peter Obi as anti-north. This is no sentiment, apart from the way he treated the northerners when he was the governor of Anambra state, we consider him as a bonafide member and major sponsor of IPOB. "In fact, 70 percent of emirs and traditional rulers from the north will not support Peter Obi as the vice president.” Afiyo was of the view that it would not be politically wise for Atiku to pick his running mate from the South West which, according to him, remains a strong base of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), advising the PDP to turn its radar instead to the South South. The NYLF leader suggested that either Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike or his Bayelsa State counterpart, Seriake Dickson, should be considered as Atiku’s prospective running mate, if the opposition party is serious about unseating President Muhammadu Buhari next year. “We don’t work on sentiment. As I have told you before, our group staked our lives in 2015 for Buhari. Personally, I was placed under house arrest for two weeks throughout the extension of the presidential election in 2015. I was fighting with the hope that Buhari would change things, but there is a cabal and Buhari is completely caged. “Also, mind you, Atiku is not a saint; anyone that becomes president, there must be a cabal. So we need a vice president that will tell the cabal no and Peter Obi doesn’t have the courage and boldness to be the vice president to challenge the authorities. We need checks and balances,” he said warning that “If Atiku fails to heed our warning, then APC will win. Buhari will win hands down because we cannot support a failure, we will work for APC.” http://sunnewsonline.com/northern-group-atiku-drop-obi-forget-2019/ |
