President of the Living Faith Church, aka Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, yesterday, denied endorsing the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for the 2019 presidential election.

Speaking at a Sunday church service in Canaan Land Ota, Ogun State, Oyedepo said he was invited to former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s residence for a peace parley.

His words: “I am aware Winners are in every political party in Nigeria but I don’t belong to any party. I was only invited to make peace. I don’t force myself on people because I am too busy.”

He, however, lamented the rising rate of killings in some parts of the country especially in Plateau

The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Hassan Matthew Kukah has said that he did not accompany the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar to see former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

According to Daily Post, Kukah said his photograph with Atiku and the former President is not a political statement. He said “Did you see me accompany Atiku? I was in Otta, you are here now, is it the same as saying you followed me?

“Did you come here with me? The fact that we are in the same location doesn’t mean we came together.”

Kukah made this know while answering questions during an Interfaith Conference which held in Abuja. The Catholic Bishop was seen in a photograph alongside Sheikh Gumi , Obasanjo and the PDP presidential candidate.

Atiku was in Ogun state » to meet with the former President on Thursday, October 11, 2018, ahead of the kick-off of his presidential campaign. Reports say Bishop David Oyedepo of Winners Chapel and Archbishop of Sokoto Diocese Matthew Kukah, among others, were part of the Atiku delegation to Obasanjo's home.

After the meeting, Atiku’s former boss promised to do his best to ensure that he comes out victorious during the 2019 presidential election.

My statement is in response to Op digging up documents about Atiku and I am pointing out to him that, digging out these documents and information will not deter people from opting for an Atiku presidency, because, the general populace are disillusioned about PMB's government and see Atiku as a new vista that they are willing to try. It's not the APC that's digging things up against Atiku. It's ordinary citizens like me and you. It's only criminals that fear this government. If the government should interfere in his case it would be easy: they'll just find a way to bundle him out to America. No political opponent has been haunted by this administration. GEJ, IBB (who jailed PMB), and many others are walking freely. The NASS though working against the government hasn't been interfered with. It doesn't happen this way with PDP.

Nigerians have not matured enough to vote along ideological lines so why don’t you save your strength and data. Between Atiku and PMB majority have chosen Atiku, it’s simple. People are tired, people are hungry, people feel disillusioned with PMB’s style of government, it will be a hard sell trying to ask them for more patience, PMB promised a lot and instead delivered far far less. The Atiku option is a kind of light in the tunnel.
