Senator Ike Ekweremadu, have asked APC to prepare for defeat in the 2019 presidential election, He also admonished them to ensure a credible, free and fair election next year.

This was even as he decried the sit-tight syndrome in Africa, which he described as a grave danger to African democracies. He gave the admonition while speaking at the Parliament of the United Kingdom (UK), where he delivered a lecture titled “African Politics: The Dynamics and Lessons”.

Ekweremadu noted that his admonition became necessary owing to the pivotal and strategic roles Nigeria is playing in Africa, insisting that for the African continent to be respected by the rest of the world, Nigeria must not only lead the way, but also earn the respect of the world.

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently presiding over the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting at the Council Chambers inside the Presidential Villa, in Abuja.

The meeting was coming a day after former President Olusegun Obssanjo released a special press statement asking President Muhammadu Buhari not to re-contest in 2019 Presidential Election.

One of the most used and well known contraceptive device is the condom. It is the most prevalent contraceptive device used among individuals. The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief John Oyegun, on Thursday said he survived the plot to remove him from office because he didn’t do anything “dishonourable.”



Oyegun said he was targeted because of his “loyalty.”



The APC chairman, who spoke in Bénin City, Edo State, where he was honoured as “Ogbe Eni” (Elephant killer) by the Benin National Congress, said God vindicated him in allegations against him.

North Korea broke a two-month lull in weapons testing with a dramatic launch of its most advanced missile yet, an intercontinental ballistic missile it claims can reach the "whole" US mainland.

The country's state media declared the Hwasong-15 missile was "the most powerful ICBM" which carried a "super-large heavy warhead" to unprecedented heights of almost 4,500 kilometers (2,800 miles).

It was a dramatic show of force and technical capabilities from Pyongyang, which had not conducted any military tests since September 15, raising suggestions that perhaps the rogue country was heeding warnings to halt its provocations and cease its weapons program.

The Nigerian Police Force has ordered the reinstatement of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Danjuma an officer responsible for the extra-judicial of killing five young auto spare parts traders and a young woman on June 7, 2005, in Apo township, a satellite settlement at the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja.



The victims, Ekene Isaac Mgbe, Ifeanyi Ozor, Chinedu Meniru, Paulinus Ogbonna, Anthony Nwokike, and Augustina Arebu, were returning from a nightclub when they were stopped at a police checkpoint and extra-judicially murdered by a contingent of policemen led by Danjuma.



The directive for the officer’s reinstatement was contained in a Police wireless message (DTO 1718000/11/2017) addressed to the Police Service Commission. According to the wireless message, obtained by SaharaReporters claims the reinstatement of the officer Danjuma and other police officers included in the message following their successful “appeal of their dismissal from the Force”. The officers are Danjuma Ibrahim, a Deputy Commissioner of Police; Fausat Azeez Oduwole, an Assistant Commissioner of Police; Bethram C Onuoha, Chief Superintendent, Okwuonu Allwell, a Chief Superintendent; Nonyerem Ejike Akubuike; a Deputy Superintendent of Police; Barakiya Yusuf and Onuorah Emmanuel, both Assistant Superintendents of Police. However, Oseni Tajudeen, whose appeal was rejected, had his dismissal upheld.



DCP Ibrahim Danjuma, the wireless message showed, will be paid the arrears of his salary dating back to June 18, 2005, and sent on a refresher course. Danjuma was revealed as the officer who shot some of the traders and stranged the only female traveling that night they encountered the bloodthirsty police team.



The killing of the six persons provoked national outrage. The police had claimed that the victims, aged between 21 and 25 years, were members of a robbery gang that had shot at the officers at a checkpoint.



However, a judicial panel of inquiry set up by former President Olusegun Obasanjo dismissed the police account as false and recommended the trial of the officers for extra-judicial killings.



The trial dragged for over a decade until two of the officers were sentenced to death in March 2017, curiously, Danjuma was freed by the judge who sat on the case. The officers accused ...

Certainly, for the organizers and teeming followers of ‘Miss Indigenous Africa’ pageantry and her eventual winner, it will go down as an epochal day when a worthy quintessential queen was crowned by Clint’s Fashion and Entertainment, owners of the ‘Miss Indigenous Africa’ pageant.



Being on her trail for sometime, our roving correspondent eventually caught up with the delectable beauty who went away with the star prize of the event at a cosy spot and she took some time out to share some of her story.

Taming the tongue



The Miriam Webstar dictionary defines a Gossip as a person who habitually reveals personal or sensational facts about others. It is almost a natural tendency in every human to gossip about something or someone. Most times, we do not necessarily mean to be harmful, however, there are some bad effects of gossip.



Gossiping has a negative coloring power on its victim. Most times Gossips emanate from jealousy and unreliability. The bible in Proverbs 20:19 warns us about slander and associating with gossips (also see Leviticus 19:16)



Gossips betray confidence and destroys people (see; Proverbs 11:13) which are a common cause of hatred, fights, murder and other vices in our society. It is, therefore, important for Christian youths to exclude themselves from such and ill.
