He dismissed the fears that Buhari’s electoral value would diminish if the aggrieved members of the PDP pull out of the ruling All Progressives Congress government stated by Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state. In an interview with State House correspondents and press in Abuja on Tuesday, El-Rufai said President Buhari would be re-elected, no matter what that PDP is just wasting their time. “I don’t agree and I want to go back to 2003. What are we talking about? Who are these new PDP people that are threatening? This is Kwara, Kano, Sokoto, Adamawa, Rivers but I don’t think Amaechi is part of them. “ Go back to 2003 and check. Buhari then under ANPP won in all these four states. Go back to 2007, Buhari won in these four states. Even when Shakarau was running as a presidential candidate in 2011, Buhari defeated him in Kano. “And, I have no doubt in my mind that even if the people threatening to leave, leave, it will have absolutely no impact on the presidential elections, the president will win Sokoto, Kwara and Adamawa easily. “Kano is already taken, I mean if you saw the crowd that welcome the president without the former governor Kwankwaso, Kano has always been the president’s base. Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna state, says the three senators representing his state are ignorant of the real indices of development and progress in a democratic setting. He made the comment five weeks after the senators — Shehu Sani (Kaduna central), Sulieman Hukunyi (Kaduna north), and Danjuma Leah (Kaduna south) — blocked a $350 million loan request by the Kaduna government. The state had sought to get the facility from the World Bank but the federal lawmakers said the loan would erode the economic viability of Kaduna. Speaking while flagging off the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign for the local government election in the state on Friday, el-Rufai described the lawmakers as the enemies of democracy. The governor, who spoke to the thousands of people at the Kaduna Township Stadium, where the event held, that the senators conspired to stop his government from obtaining the loan to build infrastructure and develop the state. He said the action showed that they were irresponsible and asked the people not to allow “opportunists” like them to remain in the national assembly. He described their stay in the upper legislative chamber as a bad omen, saying they were also targeting President Muhammadu Buhari. John Oyegun, national chairman of the party, Zainab Ahmed, minister of state for budget and national planning, were among the dignitaries at the event. more on..https://malizumedia.com/breaking-news-the-three-senators-representing-kaduna-are-ignorant-governor-el-rufai-2/ |

EX-AGITATORS, under the backing of National Assembly of Ex-militants, NAE, have disapproved the declaration of interest by President Muhammadu Buhari to run for second term in office, saying Nigerians could not afford another four years of lavishing in poverty ridden administration. The group which claimed to have worked for Buhari in the 2015 elections, said it has withdrawn support for Buhari reiterating that the present administration had brought infectious poverty, abandoned the president’s supporters and was insincere in developing the Niger Delta region. “We cannot afford another four years of Buhari’s poverty ridden regime or else we would all die. Amnesty International (AI) has said the abduction of Chibok school girls four years ago should have served as a wake-up call to the Nigerian government on the protection of citizens especially women and girls. AI on Saturday asked the Federal Government to do more in rescuing the abducted Chibok girls and the remaining Dapchi schoolgirl, Leah Sharibu. Director of the organisation in Nigeria, Osai Ojigho, stated this in a statement issued to journalists by AI Media Manager, Isa Sanusi, to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the abduction of the Chibok schoolgirls by Boko Haram in Borno. Ojigho was quoted as saying: “What happened in Chibok should have served as a wake-up call to the Nigerian government and also to parents. “Yet four years on, thousands more women and girls have been taken from their homes and nothing is been done and forced to live in captivity, in events largely unnoticed and unreported by media. “The time is long overdue for the government to deliver meaningful action on behalf of all these victims of Boko Haram’s crimes. ARCHBISHOP Emeritus of Lagos, Anthony Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie, has warned politicians he says are following President Muhammadu Buhari to seek re-election next year to take time to gauge the mood of the nation or risk plunging Nigeria into an “unnecessary revolution”. He went on, “But just as he (President Buhari) has the freewill, the people of this country also have the freewill to elect according to their conscience. Like I said, the popular assessment of his performance in the last three years is dismal and the generality of the people will prefer that he retires and allow other Nigerians to make their contribution to the nation’s development. “They don’t want to see him in the saddle again because he has performed poorly, but if he wants to force himself there, I don’t know how he will do it….but I can only say good luck. Okogie, however, declare the prerogative of any human being to aspire to be anything in life, saying, “Every citizen of Nigeria has the freewill to do whatever he or she desires to do. So, as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he can hearken to the voices of people to aspire to any height. “But I know that the voice of the people is the voice of God. And I can tell that the general opinion of Nigerians, going by what I have been reading in newspapers, is that he (President Buhari) has not done well. And for him to come from such background and wants to re-contest for another four-year mandate is absolutely left to him”. You can even see it from the opposition party’s standpoint. For example, the APC has been releasing lists of alleged looters of the nation’s treasury and the opposition party, the PDP, has consistently raised objections, claiming that some members of the ruling party have been, at different occasions, indicted of corruption, but, up till now, the APC is yet to respond. PDP had asked very salient questions bordering on the so-called list of alleged looters but what has been the response from the APC? The PDP has made very weighty allegations but they not responded. If they are convinced of their anti-corruption war, they should openly respond to the questions raised on the alleged looters lists. But so far, there has been no reply from the APC. The recent declaration of interest to vie for the highest elective office in the land by President Muhammadu Buhari is generating heat in the polity. With the President away in the United Kingdom, Nigerians back home are suprise in an endless debate on whether the President has done well enough to be given another shot at the Holy Grail. No issue in the past couple of weeks has dominated discourse as much as this week’s declaration of intent to contest the 2019 election by President Muhammadu Buhari. The declaration as it were, elicited excitement in the camp of the President, with its argument that a second term in office would culminate in the manifestation of a glorious harvest from the seeds being sowed today by the current administration. In the past few days, not a few supporters of the President have, in the traditional media (print and electronic) and online tabloids, attempted to justify the rationale for a continuity, with the argument rife that the mismanagement of the economy in years past, informed the failure of the nation to rise proportionally to her rich endowments in human and material resources. However, this narrative has not gone down well with the largest opposition party in the land, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). |

Unbelievable to many, the failed attempt to foist a Caretaker Committee on the All Progressives Congress (APC) was actually aimed at creating legal crisis for President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019 and edge him out of the presidential election. Those behind the plot were said to have set a booby trap on account of which Buhari’s nomination for re-election would be declared invalid in line with 1999 Constitution and the constitution of the party. It was learnt yesterday that 10 more governors had shelved support for the extension of the tenure of the National Chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun and members of his National Working Committee (NWC), based on Buhari’s opposition to the elongation of their tenure. There were strong indications yesterday that a former Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, was on top of the pecking order in the search for the national chairman of APC. But three APC governors and some members of the National Assembly who have constituted themselves into opposition elements within the party are said to be weighing the option of defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or any coalition party. Investigation conducted by our correspondent revealed that three traps were set for Buhari by those who were opposed to his second term ambition in APC. Lewis Dunk finished off a goalmouth scramble after goalkeeper Petr Cech was beaten to the ball by Shane Duffy for what was Brighton’s first league goal from a corner all season.
