War have been declared on herdsmen for the killing of elderly farmer was on Saturday beheaded by herdsmen in his farm at Iseyin, Oyo State.

His son, who was with him in the farm, was also said to have been injured by the herdsmen who also destroyed crops in the farm.



President-General of Agbekoyas Worldwide, Kamoru Okiki Aremu, who disclosed this to News agency Sunday night, said the deceased, identified as Mustapha, alias Bebe Jeje, was a gentle man who was very popular at Iseyin.

A teenage student of government college owerri Imo state was again yesterday hit by a car at same location, same time a similar accident that was earlier reported by malizumedia last week happened. The teenage student sustained sever injury and was rushed to the hospital. The black Toyota Camry car (Toyota muscle) hit the student and stopped to help but as soon as he observed his condition was getting critical he absconded.

The Minister of Transportation and Ex _river state governor Rotimi Amaechi, said on Saturday that he believed in the principles of the late environmentalist, Ken Saro-Wiwa .

Amaechi stated this during the introduction of a pro-APC non-govermental organisation, Free Rivers Development Initiative (FRDI) in Bori, Khana Local Government Area of Rivers.

He said that the late environmentalist from Ogoni believed that the people of Ogoni, South-South and Niger Delta were suffering.

In Benue State yesterday two suspected herdsmen were arrested yesterday after they exchanged fire with troops 707 Special Forces Brigade troops on a routine patrol along Gbajimba – Iyiodeh road in Guma Local Government Area.


The spokesman of 707 Special Forces Brigade Makurdi, Major Olabisi Ayeni, said the suspects were planning a dangerous mission but were sighted by the troops on patrol.

According to Major Ayeni the force who were suspected to be converging, possibly for an attack on Ortom’s farm and other citizens’, were about to be approached for questioning when they opened fire on the troops as they made to run away but were engaged and two of them arrested.

It is been recorded that the Officer-in-charge of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) in Saki, Oyo State, is been killed by Suspected Fulani herdsmen .

The officer, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), whose name was not disclosed by the Command, was said to have been brutal to death by the suspected Fulani herdsmen during an operation in a forest around Saki-Ogboro Road in Oke Ogun.

The incident occured barely two weeks after the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Odude, and other top officers held a stakeholders meeting to address crises between farmers and herdsmen.

Olusegun Obasanjo FORMER President has poured his mind that he has no plan of imposing any Presidential candidate on the country in 2019, saying he remained an elder statesman with a passion for a greater Nigeria.

Obasanjo said this during a courtesy visit by a youth group from Delta State, led by a governorship aspirant, Frank Ufuoma Esanubi, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta. Obasanjo, however, warned Nigerians against repeating past mistakes saying the process and system that would produce leaders in the country must be right and inclusive.

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday urged victims of herdsmen attacks not to part take in any act of retaliation.

He plead with the Northcentral, who are mostly at the receiving end of the attacks, that his reign would not tolerate such barbaric acts.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that none of its established organs will anoint a presidential aspirant ahead of the 2019 general election.

In Benue state it was recorded that two police officers and four others have been reportedly killed in a gun battle with suspected herdsmen at Yogbo community in Guma local government area of Benue state.

It was gathered that many houses and farm produce were set ablaze while residents of the community took to their heels for fear of the attack.



The Commissioner of Police in Benue State confirmed the commencement of the counter-terrorism operation. He said, his main vision is to flush out herdsmen who are reportedly armed and perpetrating violent attacks in the state.

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday tackled the Senate over its accusation that the Presidency has done nothing about the January 1 killings in Benue State.

President Buhari, in a letter to the Senate, said that it was incorrect to infer that nothing had been done, especially when the police were strenuously working to apprehend the killers.

The President’s letter was in response to the Senate’s which detailed its resolutions on the killings and the way out of the development.

Its barely a week former President Olusegun Obasanjo wrote a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, his touted Coalition for Nigeria Movement has been launched in Abuja NAN reports

The movement was launched at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre.

The former president in a lengthy and critical public statement on Tuesday, January 23 suggested the formation of the movement and advised Buhari against seeking a second term in office.

Agreed that OBJ could actually have been as guilty as PMB on some of the issues he had accused PMB of when he was the President of Nigeria in his most recent letter, the Nigerian youths must remember this fact: nobody would have listened to OBJ if PMB had lived up to the expectations of those that voted for him in the first place.



Instead of questioning the morality of OBJ in being a moral compass within the political space of Nigeria, the Nigerian youths should ask this question: What is wrong in having a culprit who decides to identify another culprit?



The concept of "ethical altruism" in ethical leadership talks of the consequences of a leader who acts for the common good of all with minimal benefit for himself or herself.



Applying that concept to this issue, it is very obvious that OBJ is neither looking for any elective office nor political appointment from Nigerians but simply telling the Nigerian youths that their search for a credible leader must begin again.



In other words, the Nigerian leadership space must wear a communal face contrary to what PMB is currently offering to the Nigerian people, and indeed the youths of Nigeria.



If we accuse OBJ of unjust assessments, would we also assess the views of Pastor Tunde Bakare in the same light?



Pastor Bakare who traversed the nook and cranny of Nigeria selling a Buhari brand that was firmly hoisted on, the podium of integrity, the quest to bring down corruption, applying the incisive notion of creating jobs through diversification, and the establishment of peace through security.

Pastor Bakare had since established with empirical pieces of evidence and without any intent to disrespect President Buhari that Buhari's words along those lines were not worth a dime.
