Hello..I know we have treated this question before..but I need your help..
could you please direct me to the page that talks of schools accepting HND degree holders from Nigeria..
A friend wants to apply for January and time is really short..
I do apologise if I am breaking the rules but please help me out..
if you know the schools respond to my message or give me the link to search..
Thanks!

Yes, have had one since 2018. I wish I was asked that question you know
oh so sorry..
maybe in England it is a different ball game
but in Aberdeen, I didn't need to show that I had been there for a while trying to get an accommodation.
I was fortunate to get one from a private landlord thorugh a friend though..
I hope it works out for you..

Thank you. Already spent the last few weeks doing that, the challenge so the landlord not accepting our application or agency not even getting back.

The challenge is assumed to be with the fact that we are just coming in and they are not sure we can meet up with rent and all. Hence why O came here for some sort of referral

oh really? they asked me for evidence of ability to pay and I said I had saved funds
have you been able to open an account yet?
that would help a lot..

Call BA and find out.
Nigeria hasn't shut its airspace.
I don't think its all flights that were cancelled, from what I gather only a couple of airlines did so.
Besides, the number of people leaving Nigeria now is bound to shoot up (just like in 2012) and the airlines will want to cash in.

I have been calling their lines but no response
I will try again by 8am
The issue is how to get to the airport with my family and all our luggages

VAC...... Ikeja

It has been a long journey!
With 2 visa refusals from US and Canada for me, 4 visa refusals for my hubby (2 from US alone this year)...it was a journey full of faith, prayers and determination. So many errors along the way, issues with my hubby's passport made us do a new passport within a week. It was a mental hurdle for us all but thank GOD it finally ended in PRAISE!!

Thanks to everyone here@mimilyrics, justwise, and so many others who I picked your brain on how to make this possible..you guys are 10 zillion much. With this, I draw the curtain on my constant commentary here as school work has started in earnest and I need to switch focus from applicant to student mode (LOL).

I pray for all those who are waiting, about applying or have applied..the same God that made ours a success in spite of everything, will do the same for you. Stay strong guys..the race is not to the swift nor to the strong but to him whom God shows mercy. I will miss you all but I gotta move on now..

Adieus Amigos! Au revoir mes amis!

Lol, so if I am asked, what am I supposed to show? The bank statement I used to apply for visa? Or what now. Cos the query is quite weird tbh cheesy
Well I am not trying to scare anyone..
It was a new development that occured this morning at Heathrow..
I believe in preparing for anything..
It might sound too meticulous.. but better safe than sorry

A few days ago, a Lady was sent back to Nigeria from the UK because she didn't complete her hotel reservation properly
when she got to the UKBA, they called her hotel and the hotel said she never confirmed her reservation
Immediately she was sent back on the next flight

So it might be one story here and there of different things happening to different people, not all..
But nothing hinders anyone from learning through these informations and preparing accordingly

Do you mean going with the bank statement I used to apply for visa? Is that one good enough to present?
Well, it doesn't cost you anything, unless the money is no longer there
So I would say, take everything because you never know who you will meet during Entry Immigration checks.

You could take like 100 pounds... that would be fine as a minimum to get you to where you plan to quarantine
As long as you can prove that you have made proper plans, there shouldn't be any problems..
Please ensure you have checked and double checked that your documents are in order and properly kept in your hand luggage to show as and when required

yes they let her go but they drilled her for quite a while..
she even advised people to come with their bank statement..

PLEASE, I need assistance
That amount is quite small, please increase it..even for visit visa..it's still too small
besides hope you can show your money still in your account when you arrive UK
because a student was querried repeatedly on this today by UK immigration
so to avoid stories that touch..ensure you have done the needful

Please can someone recommend schools that doesn't require tuition deposit before visa application. I'm going for masters in business.

Also any cheap culinary school too..

Please my good people help
hmm..to the best of my knowledge, that only happens in Canada.. not UK
for culinary schools, I'm afraid you need to do more research..and give us more information..
so which are you going for ..business or culinary?

Thank you so much @mamacajah.

In response to travel history, none at all for all of us.
We how ever have had a Visa refusal to Canada. (TOURIST VISA) Wanted going with my husband and kids,my husband was the main applicant.
Now for student Visa for UK I am the main applicant, going to RGU.
I have paid tuition deposit and we have all done TB test.

So due to the refusal I am trying to be very careful in making sure all I need to do for the UK is in line with all they want and correct hence my questions.

Would this be a big issue?

Many thanks.
lol, I can understand..fear of receiving another denial after several ones can be disheartening, trust me I have been there.
Don't orry, You are good to go.
As long as you declare all the refusals during your applications, it is fine..just follow the instructions and you will be alright
We are all going to the same place..so maybe we will see when you come over, by God's grace.

Morning Guys.

I have a a few questions please.
For dependents visa.

1. Apart from the bank statement what does the principal applicant husband need as documents to show.
That is,would marriage Certificate be requested,if yes is it court marriage Certificate or church own will suffice.
Court certificate..unless the church one is same as court..otherwise, you would have done a seperate registry ceremony..so use the official one
travel history (if any)
TB test result

2. For the kids, apart from bank statement of principal applicant, what other documents would they need.
That is would they need birth certificate to prove relationship to their parents (note they have this,I am just asking to gather more documents if need be)etc.
letter of consent from both parents (search the thread for samples, this was shared last month), their birth certificates and travel history (if any)
TB test result

Happy Independence Day nairaland fam!

I have come with my own testimony, my VISA was APPROVED!!!

Biometrics 22nd Sept
Decision mail 28th Sept
Passport delivered 30 Sept

To all those waiting, God will perfect your testimony soon!!

My application was quite complicated (the story no get part2) so I was very scared of what the outcome would be but I trusted God completely and he showed up yet again. I asked a lot of questions here, the responses I got and other people's experiences helped tremendously. No phone interview, no non straightforward mail (still in awe of how smooth it was, all glory to God).

Oh I also had a US tourist visa denial in 2013 and I declared it in my application.

Thanks to everyone who contributes on this platform, especially @mimilyrics @justwise @mamacajah @aprokodaughter @lagosismyhome etc... God bless you all

Congratulations

chnovpaul:
Hi everyone.

I finally got my passport/visa.

Sept 5: Applied for visa (via priority service)
Sept 8: Went for biometrics (TLS Abuja)
Sept 11: Got a decision mail
Sept 29: Application transferred to VAC, received by VAC...and I picked it up

On the document that came with the passport, visa had been issued since Sept. 9th. Apparently, it got stuck somewhere and someone forgot to send it to the VAC. Two things that I did that I think prompted them to remember to send the passport back (in my own opinion):
1. Requested for an escalation/reminder to be sent to UKVI Pretoria via phone call yesterday
2. Sent an email to the commonwealth scholarship commission who immediately sent an email to UKVI asking them to send the passport since decision had been made more than 2 weeks prior (I'm a commonwealth scholar).

Next step is to push for a refund of my priority service fees. I hope I get it back.

Lessons I learnt...
1. Call for help as soon as you can once you realize that there's something wrong. Leaving things to chance might not always work out. I can imagine if I kept on waiting and did not talk to anyone. Maybe they'll send it on time, maybe they won't. We'll never know.

2. Learnt better how to be patient and manage such frustrating circumstances as this.

For those in my shoes who have gotten a decision email and haven't gotten their passport back more than 5 working days after (esp. priority applicants), it's better to escalate the issue and request for a reminder to be sent to UKVI ASAP. They seem to be under a lot of pressure as this is peak period plus the COVID situation has made system inefficiencies to be more obvious.

Many thanks to all who responded to my questions and complaints on here. For those waiting, may you all get your visas within the shortest time possible.
Congratulations
