40manlappy: 1. From my wife's experience, I can recommend CA. Her assessment was done in about 20 days. 2. Yes, both can be done together. Just indicate that in the application form, there is a portion for that. 3. Try and obtain your faculty handbook. You should get details of your courses there, especially the one published while you were attending the institution. You can try their library or link up with someone in your faculty. Thank you so much for these tips really appreciate. |

congratulations on your visa, please can you help answer the following questions. 1. did you get a letter from your host 2. when filling your from did you choose the medical tourism option idonhear: In the spirit of giving back, we bless God for the success of our interview today. We acted on faith and prayed though it may sound foolish but God honoured our faith. We have already bought tickets for both taking advantage of Emirate Promo that ended Jan 18 while believing God for success at the interview which was scheduled almost a month ago. We are first time applicants, no travel history for DW, though I have travelled to Ghana twice before now.
VO: Good morning We: Good morning VO: Are you husband and wife? We: Yes VO: Why do you want to go to the US? DW: For childbirth and vacation Me: For exam and witness the birth of my first baby VO: What exam is that? Me: I mentioned it, he inquired to know the full meaning after just giving the acronyms VO: Okay, where do you do? Me: I am the so so and so of XYZ Plc (hypothetical name), he interrupted and asked what my day to day activity looks like. I explained, I think he felt I know what I am saying (he was impressed) nodded and asked further questions in my line of work. VO: How much do you earn per month? Me: I earn Xk per month apart from other benefits and bonuses? VO: Turned to DW, where do you work? DW: I work as ZYX, and I do so and so. VO: What course did you study for your bachelor degree? DW: I studied accounting. VO: Are you chartered? DW: Yes, I am.....I have both ACCA and ACA VO: That is cool, how much do you mean monthly? DW: I earn Zk monthly aside quarterly bonuses. VO: Okay, how much is your budget for this trip, and how much have you saved? DW: A little above 12k dollars cos I will be staying with my host during the period of my stay, and I have saved about 10k dollars. VO: 10k, how do you intend to meet up? DW: I will be travelling sometime in May, and I should be able to have saved up more before then. Me: We have doctor’s correspondence here, if you would like to see. VO: I was about asking for that, give me three documents….Budget sheet, Doctor’s correspondence and hospital bill showing the amount the childbirth is gonna cost you. DW: We passed it to him, we also have the bank statement here. VO: Oh, no need, just those three documents. Why this doctor and hospital? DW: Well, based on host’s (a relative – DH’s aunty) recommendation and proximity to residence, and online review. VO: He went through the correspondence, and the budget sheet very well. VO: Congratulations, he gave us the white paper, and noted that we should go with all documents especially doctor’s correspondence as it might be checked at point of entry explaining that people were not allowed entry into the US cos they don’t have the documents. We were so happy….Glory be to God.
The VO has turned down so many before us, if not up to 15, he sounded tough, drilled people and asked so many questions and we were like praying not to have him to interview us, but lo and behold, we were sent to him. DW said God will favour us, and we believed, went to him and God did it. |

akinnawou: First and foremost, I want to commend bellong for puting up a master piece in the intro to this new thread, it was very informative.have been a silent observer on this thread for a while now,I want to thank @scrollmeout @NNBB2012 @chukdee @Manmeta They have been of great support to me in my PR paroles. I lodger my application to EA on the 11th of April this year, and the outcome came in early today 21st April 2016 I did the fast track one.I applied as a professional Engineer, but in the outcome letter, they said my qualification is equivalent to Engineering Technologist. And that my degree is equivalent to Australia Qualification Framework as bachelors degree. I want to know if this qualifies me to v the 15points.
I wrote IELTS last year, I had above the 6.0 band score but my score didn't fetch me points.however I did PTE jst last month on the 16th of match, result came out early the following day,17th march. Listening 81 Reading 90 Speaking 84 Writing 80 As it is now, my total points accumulated English test -20 points Age-32----- 25 or 30 points,by end of November I wld b a year older, I really don't know which point to pick 25 or 30 Bachelors degree(elect/ elect engineering with telecommunications option--------- 15 Total points= 60 or 65 depending on age point I want the dons in the house to clarify on the engineering technologist thing. Thanks house.. Kindly advise on how you prepared for PTE |

Congratulations wish you a healthy nine months. ziondota: My testimony... BFP after failed ivf last June. Please join me to shout three thunderous alleluia. Hmm, how do I start? Singing..What a mighty God we serve...Am not really an active member but i have posted like twice. When my ivf failed I was so confused and devastated. I had so much faith it was going to work. I went back to the clinic 2nd of August for a review. The doctor couldn't say much. I was insisting that the failure must have been because of my multiple fibroids. The Dr assured me that it wasn't and asked me to come back for FET once I see my period. I agreed but getting home, I told hubby am not ready to go back yet for the FET. I told him I needed to take care of myself and use any of these networking products to shrink the fibroids before going back ending of Oct or Nov. He accepted. I continued my normal life, the products I wanted to buy and use, I just couldn't buy partly because I wasn't convinced it will work. I once asked about swissgarde products here no one answered my question. I became skeptical about it. And I started looking for another one to try. Hoping that when my period comes out I will go and get. My sisters, af no come out again ooo. I expected it on a Saturday, I no see. I never thought I could be preg, I was like hope it's not hormonal imbalance. Up until Wednesday no show, normal me will check the next day self. Not until Thursday morning around 3am I woke up to poo and decided to check and omg I saw double lines with the second being very visible too. I rushed to the room and hubby was awake too.. I knelt down, showed him the stick and started singing and crying that early in the morning. Hubby was like my voice was too high and that I should explain to him. I no answer am o. I sang to my satisfaction before answering him. He was shocked because he didn't even know my period was late. I just can't even explain this miracle. God is indeed awesome. Indeed it's only God that perfects conception. Please join me to worship this awesome Jehova. The only true and wise God. Oji obara akpu nwa... I have this words of encouragement for the remaining sisters still waiting. God is the only giver of children and what He does for one, He promised to do for others. Be steadfast in prayers, take your mind of it a times. Also please don't let any medical reports weigh you down.. I was diagnosed of so many. Blocked tube, multiple fibroids. Of late too, hubby was said to have low account. About three last tests he did is low 10, 5, and 15 million respectively. Am here to pray that this God that wiped my tears after 4years of waiting and after a failed ivf will remember each and every one of us here and this year will not end without God remembering many of us here. .. Amen! |

thanks for the response very helpful Bimpsy99: My own little understanding. Your spouse may give you additional 5 points if he passes the skilled assessment in his profession and has at least competent in English (either academic or general training) and lastly if his skill in on the same list as your SOL or CSOL depending on the class of visa you require. However, the decision on whether he will take academic or general can only be made if you check the requirement of his assessing body. I understand for IT inclined people, ACS does not require English test but for accountants Academic version of English test is required. I trust this clarifies. You may not necessary need your spouse's skill assessment if you can achieve enough points from English test and work experience. Accounting is a very competitive profession and currently 70 points is needed for a class 189 visa.
If your spouse is in another profession that is less competitive and he has enough work experience, either of you or even both (diff EOIs) can be the principal applicant. Oga Bellong and other experts please correct me if I am wrong . I will suggest you go through this link to calculate your points and read more on the classes of visa.
https://www.acacia-au.com/skilled-migration-points-test.php
In addition, this may help; You may need to pay more upon lodging your visa application if you cant prove that your spouse has at least functional English, whether through English test or previous studies in English language.
https://www.acacia-au.com/skilled-english.php
Functional English
If your spouse or partner has less than functional English, then you would need to pay the "English Education Charge" to cover English language tuition in applying for skilled migration. You can show you have functional English ability by providing evidence of one of the following:
Completion of a degree, higher degree, diploma or trade certificate that required at least 2 years of study in English medium Completion of all years of primary education and at least 3 years of secondary education in English medium; or Completion of at least 5 years of secondary education in English medium; or Scoring at least 4.5 averaged over the four components of the IELTS test within the 12 months before application, or during processing; or Completion in Australia of at least 1 year of full-time study or equivalent part-time study towards a degree, higher degree, diploma, or associate diploma in English medium. In some circumstances, functional English can be established via interview You can also demonstrate functional English by completing an English test and scoring as follows:
Test component Average across test components only IELTS 4.5 TOEFL iBT 8 PTE Academic 30 OET n/a Cambridge (CAE) 147 |

imperialebony: Actually, it takes them between 3 and 15 working days to conclude their assessment of an application (depending on your case and documents submitted alongside your application). By my calculation, today makes it the 9th day since your application was submitted. It's still in order. thanks for the response @imperialebony, am just a bit worried cos i know about four people that submitted in ikeja and it took like just a week. Is it possible they forgot to mail me? Can i just go to their TLS office to check without receiving a notification. |
