Thousands of protesters marched in major cities around the globe to show solidarity with Palestinians under attack by Israel
Protests erupted throughout the globe on Friday, with many in the Arab and Muslim communities showing their support for Palestinians amid the ongoing Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip.

The surge in protests was sparked by a call for international support by Palestinians on Friday. This appeal coincided with an Israeli military directive calling on Palestinians to move from the north of Gaza to the south, a directive also endorsed by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

So far, at least 1,900 people have been killed and 7,696 wounded in Gaza, which is subject to an air, land and sea blockade. Fifty Palestinians have been killed in the occupied West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem. At least 1,300 Israelis have been killed in the Hamas attacks that took place on Saturday.

Hamas has accused Israel of carrying out genocide in Gaza, saying that Western countries offering military aid to Israel are participating in the killing of Palestinians instead of seeking a resolution to the conflict and occupation.

“There is no safe area for the people in Gaza to seek refuge or shelter,” senior Hamas official Ghazi Hamad said in a video statement, speaking in English.

“Every area and every building is under possible attack. Everyone is targeted and vulnerable to Israel’s killing, including women, children, the elderly and even disabled people.”

Hamad also decried the “illegal and unethical” siege by Israel on Gaza that is preventing fuel and humanitarian supplies from entering the territory.

“The Israeli leaders are giving clear instructions to their army to carry out a genocide [against] more than two million citizens in the Gaza Strip. We are facing unprecedented crimes in modern history,” he said.

If there were no jewish-palestine crisis today we would still be dealing with isis, al qaeda, al shabab and the rest. If you are a non-muslim living in a muslim dominated area you are never safe, thats a fact. The jew-palestine crisis is no different, muslims are taught to constantly pass judgements on non-muslims, and that breeds violence.

But before making conclusions about what you believe about Islam, firstly try to study Islam by reading the Qur'an translation and Explanation (Tafseer) and you will understand if truly ISIS, BOKO-HARRAM, BANDITRY etc are following Islamic teachings.

What do you mean 'going into Agriculture'? Investing in rice farming or you doing the rice farming yourself?. If the later is yes, no crop farming is profitable if you are not trained and experienced. But if you invest through sound and experienced professionals; rice farming is the most profitable Agripreneurship at the moment.

Facebook farming and free information can't take you there; no two crop farms, locations and factors are the same. Seasoned Agronomists are readily available for consultations on a wide spectrum of crops, locations and soils. Engage them.

My added advice is to start small and put all your efforts in it, as rice can be trickish sometimes due to insect attack or flooding so starting small will help in building up your experience as they say experience is the best teacher.

I usually don't want to go this route because it some what bands me among the internet farmers. But I will try.

Ideally, cassava is expected to be planted at 1meter by 1meter, or for better weed management and higher plant density you plant at 1meter by 0.75m. Ideally. You could double check this with other literatures. But in practice, you can get this planting density and population if you are using a mechanical cassava planter (tractor drawn) that has been calibrated to drop the stems at that particular distance.
Other means of determining the appropriate planting distance is to use the length of regular matches as depicted in images.

But to get the labourers to plant it using this regular spacing is usually a tall task. They are usually unwilling to do the task. But to use this literature recommended spacings, it also suggest the application of fertilizer to get certain tonnage per hectare.

In my case, I am not selling to a processor directly where I will be paid per tonnage harvested and delivered. The pick up load model is not weight-based when they buy from farmers, but it is weight-based when they go to sell.

However, if you read through nairaland.com agriculture section, you will see that their had been back and forth debates about cassava profitability in the past. And I know others who went by the literatures before venturing into cassava got their fingers burnt not from the yield per ser but from marketing and pricing cassava.

Last year 2020, I intended to plant cassava on an expanse of land - the total land area was 14.5 acres. That was MAY 2020, but the day the tractor operator went to re-plough the land, the tractor developed a fault. It was a big fault that would require alot of money to fix. They only were able to replough just six acres before the damage happened.
