kindly do these tests in a good general hospital or any good diagnostic lab:
- chest x-ray
- full blood count

I had fever then I took drugs for Malaria as usual but I got better after a week started having cough and catarrh sometimes I can cough till I will be week I cough from 10 am to 11 and I will get better in the night I don't cough at all I sleep well but once I catch cold or stay on the fan I will start coughing I have don HIV test 7 times and all are negative

When you cough do you bring out anything?...like mucus, blood etc..
For how long now have you been having this cough?
Any associated chest pain, breathlessness, weight loss, drenching night sweat?

Kindly provide answers to the above questions

That test is obsolete and very useless....to checkmate salmonella typhi,
- Food hygiene
- Environmental sanitation
- proper sewage management etc....

He most likely concocted the story of going to the general hospital blah blah blah because he knew people would tell him to go to the hospital. I'm sure he just went to a lab to request tests by himself. Labs generally will do anything you ask them to, but a good doctor will not bother with Widal test.

Besides which sane person will see a doctor in a general hospital where things are cheap, then walk out all the way to another private hospital to go for test and bring the results back to the general hospital?

Exactly my thought....that test is obsolete and very useless.

Guys, please what causes this disgusting and irritating habits.
I have met people and friends on streets, construction sites that keep clearing their throat and later spit saliva at every short interval.
I actually thought this is because some of them live around dirty environment. Other reasons should be frequent alcohol drinking or guys who are induced to taking snuff.

How do you feel when you are around this people with such irritating habits.

Mine is that I'm having shortness of breath, tightness of chest and chest pain. I have done both ECG, x-ray and blood tests but doctors said that I'm okay biologically except that H.pyroly is positive which means I'm having ulcer. Please I want to ask if ulcer like peptic ulcers can cause all these symptoms .

..kindly answer these questions:
- Is the shortness of breath related to any activity like exercise or anything that aggravates it? Do the breathlessness and chest pain get worse with exertion?

- Is the shortness of breath position related like does it gets worse when you lie down at night?...Any associated cough?

- Does the chest pain gets better at rest?

- Does the chest pain gets worse when you're hungry and relieved by eating?

These are not signs you should be calm with, bro. I'm seriously hoping this isn't colon cancer. I'm sincerely hoping it's not!

I'll advise you to get the heck out of NL now and find a good hospital where reliable diagnosis can be made.

There's more to what you're having than just peptic ulcer. That's all I can tell you as a medical doctor!

Nairaland is not a hospital. Go get your diagnosis now preferably in a specialist hospital before things get worse.

An abdominal ultrasound scan would be a good starting point.

PS. I deliberately opened up on the worst possible diagnosis, so you can rise up and act fast. Whatever it turns out to be can be deadly if not treated on time.
