U ARE A GOD SENT TO ME AND MY FAMILY.
Please dont let anybody to discourage u not help anybody. Cos i am already feeling i will get reply for my application soonest. Is not easy for me and my family for 5months and 2weeks. Applied since june 19.

@Justwise
Pls face ur own business if u cant help others. I beg u.

@Sheddymore,

In line with respecting the rules of this forum, Justwise's assertion that i dont allow PM, and neither ask people to contact me is right, becauss this isa public forum afterall where everyone is supposed to post their opinions and all that so other people can learn. On that aspect, i have to respect the rules of the forum and keep communication online here at all times.

You and a few nairalanders have contacted me via email and i can boldy say i have never asked anyone or even spoken about financial with them. I always respond to their queries in capacities where they can navigate solutions by themselves.

@Manager007

Your recent activities here will not go down well.

Stop asking people for their application reference number even if you know SA ambassador to Nigeria. Its very wrong in every level.

@Justwise

My apologies then. I will refrain from assisting any further.

@Manager thanks a lot for the advice, i will do as you all have said. I will stay for the 10days and leave. I actually told them 7days when i was applying. But i thought i will be given 3 months visa. Thanks. I will be there in January, Please AirBnB a good idea? i am seeing really nice apartments

@iamtheking

Yes by all means i would also recommend AirBnB. I also use it whever in the world i travel. And you get good deals.

BUT, last time someone i know used it, the Immigration officials at Murtala Airport delayed him. They kepr askin for "Hotel Booking" even when he produced his paid recipt from AirBnB. In the end they said there's "First Time Traveller package" that he needs to pay. After being delayed, in the end the pooe dude succumbed and gave them some thousands of Nairas before he was allowed to board.

Someone should please answer my question abeg, @justwise and @manager, have been learning from you two. Please answer this for me.

I just got a VISIT Visa to South Africa and it is a 10 days visa. Please i want to know, Is it extendable? I actually have plans to stay for at least 30days. Thank you in advance.

@iamking

Yes, its possible to extend your stay via medical grounds and other reasons. But, as you have been advised, rather spend the 10 days and return.
I need to ask though, how long did you state on your Visa application form that you intend to spend im SA?

Guys ....actually the delays are everywhere. Even applications made within the Republic of South Africa that normally used to be processes quickly(early this year) are now dragging.

Certain applications that are currently in "Printing" stage is even being delayed. This is an application that has been processed and approved. That should then tell you how much of delays ia currently doing the rounds now.

That being said, you guys can only contact Abuja or Lagos consulates and wait for your processed applications or withdraw(if you want).

Theres going to be ammendment to SA immigration laws sometime end of Feb or early March 2019 Certain professions will be dropped from the current list of Critical skills visas, sothe guy who asked if he could evaluate with a body or not, rather do so before your profession gets dropped fromthe list(which i doubt as Engineering skills is always needed though)

All the best guys.

Thanks sir, I'm actually looking at coming to SA via PhD, this critical skill visa thing is like a risk for me as I'm gainfully employed here in Nigeria... My fear is that what if I'm unable to secure a good engineering job within the one year I'm given...

On the other hand, I believe after my PhD (if I take this route) I'll be eligible for Permanent Residency which will give me more opportunities...

Actually, thats not a bad advise. As a further hint, you can also convert to CSV whilst within SA when you aee still undertaking your PhD research. It's 100% allowed

.bros, how is it going with work and family? I tried to send a PM. I am not sure it went through. I am in Pretoria 16th to 18th before I return to Jo’burg, I wanted to know if I am able to see you. I wouldn’t know if you remember me but you helped out at the beginning of the year when I needed some information.

Hello Sir,

I could be wrong, but are you the one i was assistin to set up a bank account here in SA?
Yes, it would be awesome to see you as i will also be in Pretoria during those dates.
I will check my email. Similarly, are you able tonpost your number here briefly and take it down once i have saved it?

Boss will it fly, because even SAQA doesn't recognize SAICE as a professional body from the list I found on their website. Boss do you know anybody that has gotten CSV through this route, please don't be offended of being inquisitive. Thanks

Hello my brother/sister,

My advise is not cast in stone, which means you dont have to adhere to it. Im just here to advise people on this Forum. I have explained the difference between Statutory and non-statutory. When you SAQA doesnt recognise SAICE it doesnt mean they wont evaluate them nevertheless.

Do you think they will grant Critical Skills Visa with SAIEE (I'm an Electrical Engineer). In fact I've gone through the registration process for SAIEE, and it looks quite straight forward. But from my understanding SAIEE is just an organization (just like as we have NSE in Nigeria (Nigerian Society of Engineers)), ECSA I believe is the statutory body that regulates engineering in SA, just like as COREN regulates engineering in Nigeria.

Please I will appreciate if you can throw more light on this.

I appreciate your response sir.

@Anfield boss

Hello sir,

Yes indeed ECSA is the "Statutory body" for Enginering in SA. Now, What this simply means is that as a Statutory body-it was created by law or with the approval of the SA parliament. Whilst SAIEEE is a "non-Statutory body" which means it didnt nees Government laws to bw formed by goverment actions only -let's say more like "to fill in the blanks" for Statutory Bodies.

That being said, if i recollect i had previously early this year advised some Nairaland members in the IT sector to use IITPSA, which is a "non statutory body" for their critical skills application from Nigeria and they got their visas.
So simply put, you can procees.

Good day house I have a medical issue that needs urgent attention. Me dad resides in South Africa and he asked me to come over for proper treatment over there. Now he asked me to get a letter from the hospital am using down here and have done that also he has sent a letter to me from the hospital am going to be treated. Plz what other necessary documents do I need to fastened my getting visa on time. Thanks

One of the most pre-requisites for gettin medical visa is to put down a deposit at the SA medical facilities ans submit your receipts along with your prognosis certified by the Nigerian doctor who recommended you to obtain medical attention outside Nigeria. Lastly, Bank statements for person payin all expenses would be needed.

I am very appreciative with this response to my enquiries. What is the average one will spend for Bsc(honours) and can one cater for himself without sponsor?

Your best bet would be to visit the websites of your proposed instituions. Check the fees. Add in accomodation charges for the entire year. Factor in feeding and entertainment and you will have a figure.

Well, you can survive without a sponsor if you pay yoir fees upfront and in full. Sort your accomodation (either pay or stay with someone for free). Food is cheap. You will figure your way as you navigate South African living

please am going for a fully funded seminar in Pretoria on the 9-11, will be leaving on the 7th... I intend to apply at the Abuja visa center but from what I understand, they only accept 150 applications per week ( I do not know if am right about this).... I intended to submit my application on 22nd this month but am skeptical that I may end up not meeting up to be among the 150.... so am thinking about shifting my coming to Abuja to 26th which is a M but am still worried about the time the visa will take to come out... Note: the seminar is handled by the European Commission and Department of Sci Tech, SA... Do you think I will be able to submit if I go by the middle of the week Please advise, thank you

If i understand you correctly, you are planning to attend a conference 9th of 11(November) or 9-11 December? And you plan on departing naija on 7th December?

Well if so, i dont see any reason why you cant go ahead and apply. You just need a very structured motivation letter as to why your application should be processed very quickly. Just draft it in your own words.

If you need help, i can send you some sort of draft to use. Some months ago, a young man(he contacted me here on Nairaland too) was almost in your predicament here and i wrote a letter for him and his study visa was processed within days. He's now in SA studying though he stopped contacting me now that he's enjoying southy girls(ha ha). It's a free help and im not demanding anythin.
