PoliticsSheep Gave Birth To Half-human Being In Sokoto. by manchy7531(op): 5:42pm On Feb 08, 2012
On 22 January, 2011, in a government a owned veterinary clinic at Fakon Idi Veterinary Clinic, a sheep gave birth to a monstrous being. When it was discovered that it was difficult for the sheep to deliver, that was point when the need for the surgeons to carry out the operation. On delivering, the surgeons were amazed by sight of the monster baby that looked half-human.

Garba Aminu, a commercial motorcycle rider, averred: “This is an abomination in our land. To see a sheep give birth to a half human being is a mystery and that shows how terrible some people are. It is unimaginable that some people will be having intercourse with animals.” Another onlooker, who simply gave his name as Danladi, wondered how such a development could happen in a morally upright state like Sokoto where the Islamic faith is so deep.

CultureWhy Do Ikwerre Igbos Reject Their Igbo Identity? by manchy7531(op): 2:41pm On Feb 08, 2012
As an Igbo, I feel so sad for the so called little Ikwere kingdom. Some of their leaders are messing their minds up as far as Identity is concerned. The Civil war did not make the situation better as some (Not all) the Ikwere people went into this biblical Peter scenario. By the way, the Igbos in Anambra, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi,Enugu, Delta have better objectives and things to pursue than comming after a group of some lost souls who think that changing their original names will give them another identity. No, it makes them look very funny and ridiculous and that,s why the Ijaws and Kalabari,s can,t stand them and succed in putting elements of maginalization to their causes. We have to understand that the abandoned property issue of the 1970,s were mainly superheaded by the Ikweres out of jealousy and hatred of the mainland Igbos who earned those properties by hardwork. If they cite grieviences against the Igbos for the role they played on the seizure their properties, which group in the world do not have problems. The difference is that they make up , unite and move on. Instead the Ikwerre people decided to teach the "damn Igbos a lesson". Where has it left issues and relationships today" ? No where". The Igbos bounced back immedietly after the civil war with the 2 pounds that Awolowo and the Hausas gave them with seizure of all their properties including those in Porthacourt with the help of the IKWERRE people . My take is this to the Ikwerres" It is up to you to make amends and come back to the greater Igbo nation. If they decide to disappear from the radar, it is their perogative but there unborn generations will suffer the consequences and not the current selfish people with no long term vision parading themselves as leaders.

PoliticsSovereign National Conference’ll Break Up Nigeria – Ekiyor by manchy7531(op): 1:27pm On Feb 08, 2012
By GABRIEL ENOGHOLASE
BENIN—AGAINST the backdrop of continued call by some prominent Nigerians for the convocation of a Sovereign National Conference, SNC, to address the deluge of problems confronting the nation, former National President of Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Dr. Chris Ekiyor, has disagreed with the agitation, saying that it would lead to the breaking up of Nigeria.

Ekiyor, who spoke with Vanguard, said: “I was a member of NADECO and I became quiet because once there is a civilian government, there is no basis for a Sovereign National Conference. We have in place legislative assemblies, members of the two chambers of the National Assembly are paid and we have an executive in place. With these, there is already a sovereign government.

“We cannot convoke another Sovereign National Conference. We can have summits, such as the Niger Delta Technical Committee, headed by Ledum Mittee, to review the challenges facing the country and come out with a blueprint that would be sent to the National Assembly for deliberations.”

Insisting that the 1999 constitution, as amended, was subject to review as many times as possible, he said, “I don’t believe that a government will agree to the convocation of a Sovereign National Conference unless it is talking of breaking up the country.”

He noted that a Sovereign National Conference could only be held if Nigerians decided that they can no longer stay together as one united nation, adding that where there was a constituted government in power with a President and Commander In-Chief in office, there can be no two sovereigns.

Ekiyor said that most of the problems facing the country arose because while the country pretended to be practicing a federal system of government, it had no room for fiscal federalism as practised in the United States of America where it was copied from.

PoliticsBoko Haram Demands National Conference (interesting!) by manchy7531(op): 11:22am On Feb 08, 2012
Welcome to the National Conference. My name is Ibrahim Yaya. I am the 20th spokesman of the Jamu’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati Wal-Jihad otherwise known as the Boko Haram.

After a careful study, we’ve decided to embrace the call for a National Conference. We’ve concluded that we only have two options. It is either we call for a National Conference by ourselves, while we can still talk to each other, or we wait until we cannot talk to each other and have the United Nations call a National Conference for us.

We, the Boko Haram sect, have chosen not to wait.

We believe that Nigeria as it is presently constituted is structurally flawed. We don’t know if it is working for you but it is definitely not working for us. We can no longer pretend that all is well. We can no longer continue to waste time, taking one step forward and two steps backwards. The next generation of our children must not be saddled with living a lie. We have a vision of a society we want to live in and we intend to create it In shaa’Allah.

So, we have started the talk. We speak loud and clear. We know that you have heard our voice. And we welcome you.

We understand that the world we see is different from the one you see. We are not going to apologize for that. We have placed our cards on the table. We want to see yours. We want those of you who have written your constitutions to bring it to the table. We want those of you who have designed your flags to bring it out of the closet.

It’s an insult to say that making Nigeria ungovernable for President Jonathan is our mission. We don’t care if it is Sambo or Sango that is president; we are committed to our mission. It is sheer ignorance to say that Northern elite, whose tails are behind their legs in fear of us, are the ones sponsoring us. When last did they see the Kalashnikov rifles? Couldn’t you all see that the likes of The Sultan of Sokoto are fighting to stay alive and relevant in the face of the avalanche that we represent? His suggestions on how to restructure the North to consolidate his powers are medicine after death. And for the experts who blame poverty as our source of fuel, you’re being rude to Allah and the four-century-old mission he gave us. Are we the only people who are poor?

What we want is very simple. We want to live in a country where the Quran is our Constitution. We want pure Sharia law. We do not want this adulterated diet Sharia you gave us. We want the real stuff so that our children can grow in a sanitized society. We do not intend to keep compromising until it is uncertain what we stand for.

We have been presenting what we want. Some of you many not like them. We understand. Some of you who cannot stomach it may have to stay away from our heartlands. Tough luck! We do hope you will respect our rights to follow our hearts’ desires based on our value system.

Mind you, there are some people within our heartlands, including that 71-year old general who wants to fight for Nigeria again, who are against us and against this conference we have called. When you hear the general talk about the Doctrine of Nigeria’s Settled Issues, he is just foaming in the mouth. He has lost his soul and simply wants to protect his privileges in the corrupt enclave called Nigeria.

We don’t want to continue to live a life of lies like him. We have a vision that we want for ourselves. And we want it now. Our vision will leave him less powerful and less able to manipulate the rest of us. And that is why people like him in our midst are uncomfortable. In our new world, people like him will have to repent before they can find a place in it.

We recognize that since the onset of Nigeria, we have not really been asked what kind of society we want. The colonialists negotiated with few elite members of society. These negotiators did not consult us. Their eyes were set on the spoils of colonial masters’ leftover that they would inherit. We were not surprised that their experiment failed. The military that came in also became lords over the rest of us. They also negotiated with another group of elite when their own experiment failed. What we have today is another creation of the elite without the consent of the people.

We cannot continue to live in that bondage. We are adults now and we want to sit on the table and have our own say.

We are keeping all options on the table. Nothing is sacrosanct. We are not afraid of anything. We don’t have to remain in Nigeria and nobody must stay in it either. We are not interested in your oil if that will poison our spirit. We will make it by ourselves if only you infidels get out of the way for us to be great again like our forefathers.

The career politicians who are currently in the National Assembly do not represent the vision of this society we intend to create. Being a product of the imposed Nigerian society, they have no moral authority to represent us, neither do they have our interest at heart. Leaving a serious issue as the National Conference to these politicians is like using the nose as a flute. Waiting for another four years to try and vote in the right people who will tackle the issues in question amounts to denying the reality of Nigeria’s flaws and the flaws in the current system that will always produce its own kind.

Those of you afraid of a National Conference have always said that it is a recipe for disaster. Oh well, disaster is already upon us. We might as well plunge in and fix things.

Even those who do not care are beginning to behold the National Questions. “There is a National Question when citizens of the same country do not have the same rights in their homeland. There is a National Question when some citizens of a country are not free to live in peace anywhere they so wish. There is a National Question when some citizens of a country are not able to get permanent employment in some parts of their country. There is a National Question when Cultural Rights, Social Rights, Economic Rights, Civil Rights, Religious Rights and Political Rights of some citizens of a country are being trampled upon.”

For those of you who are Christians, let me use your doctrine as stated by one of your champions for National Conference to explain this: “I have always compared what our colonial masters did to the baptism of a kid. When the kid grows up, it is his responsibility to be confirmed. Confirmation is a chance for the kid to accept, reject or modify all the vows his parents undertook on his behalf when he was a child. The confusion we are currently in has a lot to do with our refusal to pass through the process of confirmation. Another analogy is that of couples who are living together without wedlock. The conservatives would say 'living in sin'. Going by that definition, we Nigerians have been living in sin since that fateful day in 1914 when Lord Fredrick Lugard amalgamated the Northern and Southern Protectorates and let his girlfriend call it Nigeria. That was how our nation was born - without a purpose, without a history, and without the consent of its citizens.”

We, Boko Haram, intend to continue this discussion with anyone who wants to participate. We will keep pushing for our demands to be met, as forceful as we can. You can hate us all you want. You can try to annihilate us with foreign powers. But Allah is on our side. The more of us you kill, the more you inspire many more to join our cause. Our madrasas are many and our supply of suicide bombers is unlimited. And our reach is equally unlimited. Our voice will be heard in the North, South, East and West. So you either come to the discussion table right now or get used to hearing our voice.

Nothing can stop us until we achieve our ultimate goal. Nothing!

Allah Akbar.

PoliticsKano State To Marry Out 1000 Widows by manchy7531(op): 2:50pm On Feb 07, 2012
In what the Kano State government government have described as a move aimed at ensuring sustainable peace and reduce social tension in the state, plans have been concluded to marry off about 1,000 widows. This revelation was made by the Commander-General of the Hisba Board in Kano State, Malam Aminu Daurawa, at the command’s office on Sharada Road in Kano metropolis.

He said reiterated that the measure is aimed, among others, at making young men become more responsible to themselves and to the society, adding that “it is going to be sustained.” This is coming on the heels of the havoc wrought on the state by the recent coordinated attacks of Boko Haram during which over 200 lives were lost.

BOKO HARAM, BESIDES THE WAR, NO EXTERNAL ATTACK HAS EVER SUCCEEDED IN THE EAST:

The East; land of the rising sun, land of a special breed. Land created and fortified by the Creator. Land of brave men. Land of proud warriors. A land flowing with milk and honey. A land of beautiful adorable ladies. The land named Biafra in 1967 and existed as a Sovereign State till 1970. The same land that clamours for the resuscitation of Biafra with vigour and the agitation remains vigorous. The land where the IKEMBA administered at the age of 33years and performed great feats in 3years, which a Methusela cannot perform in 969years. A land of peace. A land of serene scenery. A land of cosy ambience and exotic etiquette. This land cannot allow itself to be desecrated by the Boko Haram. No mayhem initiated outside has ever succeeded in the East. The East has ever remained the safest place for the Igbos and even strangers. On 15th January, 1966, the Nzeogwu bloody coup initiated in Kaduna in the North in which Northern/Western Politicians and soldiers were assassinated, did not succeed in the East; Igbo politicians exemplified by Dr M.I. Okpara, Dr Akanu Ibiam and the rest of them were safe. On 29th July, 1966, the 2nd bloodier coup initiated in Kaduna by Soldiers of Northern Nigeria extraction, did not succeed in the East. Ojukwu was fully in control and talking tough; the type of toughness that inspires ordinary human beings to perform extraordinary feats. We miss him! After that evil coup and the criminal assassination of Ironsi, mass pogrom of Ndi Igbo began in the North and Western Nigeria in earnest, but the East was safe. All roads led to the East. Igbo refugees found solace in the East. Some of the coupists of 15th January, 1966 were safe because they were detained in the East. They included Nzeogwu, Ben Gbulie, Wole Ademoyega,Timothy Onwuatuegwu, Emmanuel Ifeajuna etc. But those of them detained in the North, West and Mid-West were killed by rampaging Northern soldiers; Christian Anuforo was badly shot at Ikeja prisons where he died, while Donatus Okafor was brought out of Abeokuta prisons and buried alive under the supervision of Northern soldiers. The East was safe until the war broke out. The war is the only crisis that penerated the East because of foreign military assistance. During the June 12, 1993 Abiola saga, the North boiled. The West was heated and people were killed, but the East was calm and peaceful. Boko Haram can never succeed in the East. If they liked let them change strategies. Let them go for more costumes belonging to lunatics, pretending to be mad and dancing around with green leaves. They are deceiving themselves, we shall still know them. If they liked let them dress in a beggar's fashion and masquerade as people who need alms, we shall catch them. They can make themselves look like imbeciles with saliva oozing from their odorous mouth to divert our attention, we shall still know it is Boko Haram. They should forget about coming to the East for there they shall meet their waterloo!

Information recently made available to 247ureports.com from source within the ranks of the terrorist Islamic group, the Boko Haram indicates not all is well with the federal governmentof Nigeria and it’s call to dialogue. The Islamic group has began preparations for another grand attack. Intelligence reports confirmed by Boko Haram source point the next attack at one of the northern states near the Bauchi tri state area.

Bauchi State was supposed to have been “destroyed” immediately following the black friday attack on Kano State. Personalities within the State government of Bauchi State calmed tensions. They approached the terrorist and suggested dialogue – of which - the source admitted that they stopped and dispatched their men to Kano to assist complete some “remaining assignment”. It is not certain the extent the Bauchi State government reached to have placated the Boko Haram. What is certain is the group’s determination to ‘destroy’ Bauchi State once the operation in Kano State has been completed.

Adding the international linkage to Somalia, [the second home of the Al Qaeda king pin, Osama Bin Laden] is the ungaurded threat that ”we are 38 here, 109 more of us are coming from Somali ready for sucide missions. We want to destroy Nigeria, not separate Nigeria. Our men are already in Onitsha, in Lagos and Port Harcourt”. Adding also that ”the River Niger Bridge can be ‘done with’”.

This development, the State Security Service [SSS] in Awka confirms. They have received intelligence pointing to Boko Haram activity near the River Niger Bridge. The SSS deputy director said the agents are monitoring the situation.

Meanwhile, the escaped mastermind of the Christmas Day bombing at Madalla, Suleja, Niger State, according to the source, has moved to Niger Republic to a town near Diffa - where he is well protected. Presently engaged in the planing of more sucide attacks against the police, prominent politicians and religious clerics [both christians and moslems] of Nigeria.

On the police escape, he said “the Abuja Police” did not let Kabiru Umar Sokoto go. It was through the help of “our youths”. They overpowered the police and secured his freedom. ”He” exited through the “kind assistance” of some officials in Gigawa and Katsina State.

In a related development, intermidiaries have begun attempts at possible dialogue. It is gathered both sides have made contact. But “we don’t trust them”, states the source. He claims the President of Nigeria does not respect them. And promises “he will soon see.”

Senator Joseph Kennedy Waku has dragged former President Olusegun Obasanjo before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over the 2001 massacre of  Tiv in UKUM and Katsina Ala local Government Areas.

Addressing a meeting in his Benue North  Senatorial District of Benue State over the weekend , the former Senator informed his kinsmen that a list of charges against the former president had been prepared and filed at the International Court at The Hague
One of such charges the former lawmaker said, is the genocide in Tivland at the alleged instance of the former president, as he vowed to make sure that Obasanjo is jailed.

It could be recalled that in October 2001, a group of rampaging Nigerian troops acting on orders from the presidency invaded Tiv villages killing people including women and children, a conflict which observers said also displaced thousands of Tiv people from their lands.

The occasion was also organized by Mzough U Tiv in the United Kingdom and their well-wishers to commemorate the death of those Tiv people during the  crisis including their families.

A prominent traditional ruler in Osun State, Oba Adebukola Alli, the Alowa of Ilowa in Obokun local government area of the state has disclosed that he made love with an ex- corps member, Miss Hellen Okpara  just as he  claimed that  Okpara  enjoyed it whenever they had fun.

The monarch,  who is standing trial before the State High court for allegedly raping a 23-year-old lady yesterday disclosed how he made love to her, maintaining that she enjoyed it.

He made the position known to the court through his lawyer, Mr. I. T. Tewogbade. The accused monarch who was in the court at the resumed hearing of the case yesterday, argued that he neither tore Okpara’s cloth or pant during the period they made love in his Osogbo residence.

But when the state prosecuting principal’s lawyer, Mr. Biodun Badeora called one of his witnesses, Dr. Dakum Longji,  to give account of his witness to the case, Longji narrated that he was the medical doctor working at Government House Clinic in Osogbo.

He said, “The victim told me that she was raped and I have to take a detailed and full medical examination with laboratory investigations and treatment for her in order for me to arrive at a particular diagnosis. My findings revealed a young lady with bruises and minor tears on the uterus with perennial injuries. Her hymen layer was absence too.”

Another prosecution witness, a clergyman at Saint Peter Aglican Church, Idoka in the state, Rev. Samson Omolaoye, told the court that the ex-corps member  was one of the members of his church,  saying that she sent a text message to his phone on  March 25, 2011 at about 11 pm which reads that “Oba of Ilowa wants to rape me, please help me call the police”.

Justice Jide Falola later adjourned the case till 24th February 24.
