Mcleo007: Dad is a former governor of the nation's foremost state (served 2 terms = 8yrs) and a leading politician; Mum is a serving Senator of the republic. Child schooled in far away United States. And yet, you tell me this god damned country will ever be good! I must be cursed to be believe in a future Nigeria. Our education is wallowing in continous rot and filth, yet this polithiefcians are staking claim to our collective intelligence. Shame on every Nigerian. All we ever do is pray and hope. How a few people can hold an entire country into captivity still beats my wonder.take it or leave it, ur comment is a picturesque of what the ordinary Nigeian attitude as well as fate represents. And it is indeed a shame we cannot be dug out of the seeming incacerated boundary of limited reasoning and thought which we seem to eschew. So sad bros! |
I'm equally a victim. Bought 4000 units but got a certificate for only 2000 units worth of my subscription and didn't get a refund till date. Worst is that I can't even ask my broker or make mention of it to someone. Am just too ashamed and confused of went wrong. No news, no AGM, just nothing to show that the shares exists. Seriously planning of a legal action someday. |
It is so sad that Chelsea owner cant hesitate to pull the trigger once again on yet another of his coach. When will he learn that there are odd moments in the life of any football team? I wonder who he will hire next that will deliver 100%. |
Everyone who has criticised the Gov or made pessimistic remarks regarding this project, to me, may have just expressed a fair opinion. However, I would want to say that they have judged the Gov wrongly without any recourse to the enviable record of philantrophic precedence which he had set and continued setting both within and outside the state even before occupying any elective post. Apparently, a man who had demonstrated such magnanimity in collosal outlay to charity and philantrophy(with his own money) should be given at least some measure of benefit of doubt if not trust to deliver on this one. Yes! It is also true that talk is cheap. But, I am very opmistic that Owelle Rochas' brand of politics will not veer in the direction of those of ordinary Nigerian "Polithievians" who would say much and end up doing less or nothing atferall. If he can do it with his personal resources, the feasibility of replicating same now with the state's fund is for me very high. It is also true that structures in form of facilities and adequate remuneration of teachers and lecturers alike need to be in place. I may not be correct with statistics but the Gov has kickstarted that in many of the schools(primary, secondary and tertiary) at least within Owerri metropolis. Structures are seriously been put in place though it is a far cry from what may ordinarily be expected. It is a gradual process! Finally, as an Imo indigene who beleive so much on the Owelle Rochas administration, I would want to use this medium to passionately appeal to him to subsequently expand the horizon of this programme via extending this olive branch of magnanimity to those of us who are indigent students in tertiary institutions outside the shores of Imo state. I believe this noble idea is all about eliminating barriers to the development of the state's human capital for a sustainable future growth. And as such, I think should include both resident and non-resident indigenes. Just my 2cents though! |
I hope the Nigerian oil-money-gullible ruling class can get to hear this news. The sad truth from this story is though the Nigerian oil wells may not run dry anytime soon, the mono-economy of over-dependence on oil wealth and revenues will boomerang as this will surely be put paid to. |
I am begining to be impressed by the new observed face of Nigeria elections. I am equally thrilled as well as enthralled by the unannounced return of voting power of the electorate. The asset in voters' card has surely been reviewed upwards. I can see why I have to regret for the disdain regard I had for the one I reluctanctly obtained. Who says the status quo wont change in Nigeria someday? I am not a prophet. I have'nt prophesized and yet not trying to do so here. But, I foresee this little voters card of ours becoming more powerful and indeed working greater magics subsequently. My advice is that everyone should guard his/hers jealously. I foresee this card serving as a collateral someday! I cant wait for dawn to negotiate with my bank manager on the modalities of safeguarding mine in his bank's custody!!! I am serious though. |

miteolu: NIGERIAN SENATORSWhich pay slip? Do u think these men's pay come with pay slips? Theirs is more like a done deal kind of payment where they just come in and hijack the Ready-waiting "Nigeria Must Dry" bags. Even If they were to receive pay slips, I doubt they ever open to see the details. What for? when they actually negotiated as well as made the payments all by themselves.Better-still, it may be received by one of their senior P A's who can only use it to nurture a political ambition of same dry Nigeria. God have mercy on us. |

If this story is genuine and devoid of cut-corners by the Nigerian in question, then this ugly development must not end on the pages of online interactive media like we have here in Nairaland. As an acclaimed giant of Africa(which though sadly I suppose we are), Nigeria and Nigerians deserve a better treatment in spite of the internal factors bedeviling and belittling our existential status. No African country, I repeat, No African country must exploit the administrative loopholes in our dear country to subject our citizens to whatever form of despicable treatment. I suppose we were destined to lead even beyond this continent of struggles and strives. But sadly we have mortgaged or better still sacrified our esteemed place of leadership and control on the altar selfish and corrupt enrichment at the deteriment of souls just like the one alleged to have been meted such an inhumane treatment. It is hightime we stopped talking too much and start acting in this country. I guess the strong weapon which the internet or online media avails is not adequqately exploited in this part of our world. This issue must not be one of those "just say mind" variable. We in Nairaland can make a "good noise" about this if it is genuinely affirmed. |
afam4eva: How can someone who was signed by another record company be signing someone else on an unamed record label. Doesn't it sound weird to you? |
afam4eva: How can someone who was signed by another record company be signing someone else on an unamed record label. Doesn't it sound weird to you?I can see that you guys are not men with business acumen. What happened to these business '' conduits''--- FRANCHISE, OUTSOURCING, COLLABORATION, JOINT VENTURE etc. D'banj, i must confess made a swift and resourceful business move by sub-signing Davido. I guess he was actually advised by some great business wizards! |
AjanleKoko: That's the law.what if one exceeded the nysc eligibility year but graduated with a good grade like first class or 2.1, does that make him/her unemployable in naija? |
It is indeed an obnoxious policy against poly graduates. I also have ND in accounting(upper credit 3.39) from laspotec but i choose to go back and start from 100 level in Unilag in order to forestall this demonic, Nigerian made discrimination cum limitation. Though I have not worked anywhere with my ND, it is rather sad to see the agonies of poly graduates who work in certain organisations. You dont just get equal preofessional progress as ur Bsc counterparts even when you are head and shoulder above them in job performance. It is just bad. At times, I just cant but ask why polytechnics are still allowed to exist even when certificates issued by them are seen to be mediocre? |
Pls I want to confirm if there is an age limit above which a graduate won't be eligible for Youth Service. An argument ensued between a friend and I over this because he said once someone is above 30yrs, he/she is not eligible for service. Pls how true is this. I need solid confirmation. |
@all pls does any1 knows d deadline for sch fees payment. I'v nt paid nd very worried about this. Pls reply asap. Thanks! |
