BlueRayDick: His arguments are flawed.
What about Indians, Chinese and even European countries who use their own indigenous language as language of instruction, and their students/graduates still compete favorably well when placed side by side with those taught in English in the global market? you are getting it mixed up. Chinese teach with Chinese and write exams in Chinese. You don't teach a child in Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa and set exams in English. That will lead to language clash. The minister is very very right. |

PigTormentor: If Yorubas are so tribalistic, there won't be Igbos all over Yoruba land. Your submission is illogical. People don't move in large numbers an thrive in hostile environments. Look around the world, people move to environments that are friendly and accommodating. Logic tells you that. the Yorubas' inability to even move to other places speak volume about tribalism. There's no part of the country you'll go now without seeing an Hausaman, Igboman, but how many Yorubas are ready to leave their shores for common NYSC? Like you initially pointed out which indirectly contradicted your current position; that we all travel to Europe and America doesn't make the whites racist-free. The ability to leave your zone, region and comfort environment for a different place shows you have clear and detribalised mindset. |

PigTormentor: So one-man story is now evident of anything? Complete crap. I was once in Alabama many many years ago and d I had a car malfunction. This white guy was just too nice. He went out of his way to assist and made sure that I was able to continue my journey to Atlanta. Does that mean that the vast majority of whites from Alabama are not racist? Nope. Just an outlier in sampling. Another true story. When I first started in IT back in the days, my black co workers were not willing to show me anything. A white guy with confederate license plate was my life saver. But reality is that most of the whites with confederate flags are pure racist and sees nothing wrong with slavery.
There are nice Igbos, my in law is one of them, but most are tribalistic and some have admitted to that fact using the war and other events for why they are that way. I agree with your position until the final submission. If any tribe is overtly trabalistic, it's the Yorubas. I wouldn't want to delve more into this, but this is a known fact. |

The elite who benefit from this govt will always support her bad policies.
Tarrif is to discourage importation according to them, but what happens from the domestic side of manufacturing and selling cheaper to tame import? Rice importation that was banned, how far did we go?
Fuel imported from far away countries selling and competing cheaply with local product, isn't that economic suicide? Same crude we export to other countries, we no import and sell even comparatively to locally produced. Isn't this an obvious indictment on our producers that they are our major problem?

grandstar: I don't support all the borrowing by Tinubu.
But there is a big difference between Buhari and Tinubu: there debt sustainability
Debt sustainability means that the government is in a better position to service its debt.
Government revenue is rising fast, so government is in a better position to service. revenue is rising and people are dying of hunger. Does this add up? The essence of borrowing is to make life benefitial to the people. Pray tell me what major infrastructure, project or policy of this govt that has made life better for Nigerians? Lagos-Calabar road is not a necessary project that will impact the life of the people. It's more of a prestige project and not to bolster or boost the life of the people. |

The people that own/manage those brands are all dickheads, which one be say after I don manage make money to buy their vehicles them go dey pick and choose who and who not to sell their cars to, like are they mad? On top of that they will still give you a long lists or dos and don'ts if you "qualify" to own their vehicles. Ferrari takes it even further, Ferrari will not let you buy a particular car in their collection if you are a first time Ferrari buyer. For instance, you want to buy an SF90 from Ferrari but you haven't owned one Ferrari before, they would not let you buy it. Even if you have the money! This is more than enough for me to dislike the brand. They should all go to hell abeg! it's all marketing strategy. Dey indirectly create a niche to make their users feel special and lucky. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: World’s Leaders Approval Rating: by Mandate1: 7:59pm On Oct 28, 2025 |
grandstar: Oga, There are economic indices used to determine whether a country is doing well or not.
So, because petrol was N180, that means the country was doing better. It wasn't.
When Tinubu came into office, 97% of government revenue was spent on debt servicing. Buhari had borrowed too much money. A lot of the money borrowed was to fund fuel subsidy.
That was why the 3 major presidential candidates said they were going to end it.
To understand the severity of the matter, imagine you're earning 1m a month and after servicing your debt, you're left with 30k.
By eliminating the fuel subsidy, the government could save money. Buhari was asking the CBN to print money and lend to the federal government. This is very inflationary and was causing the Naira to depreciate sharply.
If you want the fuel subsidy back, then be prepared for the Naira to fall to around $1-N4,000 by 2027. That is what you would get.
Which one do you prefer- pay N900/litre for petrol anbd the exchange rate is $1-N1600 by 2027, or pay N200/L for petrol and the exchange rate is $1-N4,000?
The choice is yours. all these are cock and bull story. Do you think you're talking to an illiterate? Buhari borrowed this, Buhari did that. Is Tinubu not even borrowing? I no get strength to reply you. |

amaridigital: That was how we complained about Shagari regime and embraced military rule in the 80's not knowing it was from frying pan to fire. Intelligent people won't ask for military rule in 2025 oh. You see the little progress we are making, those little little investment coming in such as the Open Ai partnership with the Unilag, those partnership that brought in Opay, Moniepoint and the local Tech companies, investment from Brazil and other nations will dry up instantly and be replaced with sanctions. For the first time in decades Nigerian youth are competing and better than South Africa in IT but military rule will destroy all that. It is ok if illiterates jubilate military take over like in Niger Republic and Chad but we are bigger than that. Unless we are planning to set Nigeria back several centuries we don't need military rule again. We are much more smarter now. Another risk is that it's almost impossible to have a military rule that won't be dominated by a region. Do you think Southern Nigeria will fold their arms again if the North kick out a southern president and start another decades of military rule like in the 90's? It will break up Nigeria almost immediately. southern president indeed. Southern president that did it win the South. We don't military regime, but this politicians are in no way better of. Under the military govt minimum wagers can fend for themselves, today 77k is as useless as the p in psychology. You need a miminum of 2000 to eat breakfast. This isn't so under the military junta. |

mastermaestro: Stop this ascription of overestimated political intelligence. Be thankful that it didn't happen. I am glad it didn't anyway. Military rule is a lawless system where a few individuals become the law and the supposed order.
Only those who probably were unborn or too young to understandably witness military administrations will think the uniform guys are better. If they took power, we won't be on this forum expressing divergent political opinions without fear of disappearing mysteriously.
No matter what, I will always pray against a military rule. Na small children dey think say military dictatorship na fun. Make una ask una papa how far that year. Many didn't know how incapacitated President Buhari felt as a civilian leader. Dude wished it was 1984 when he could act unilaterally, arbitrarily and ruthlessly. That's why he struggled to govern as a civilian leader. He saw being a civilian president as bound in shackles. Thus he grew aloof and let things run anyhow.
Military dictatorship doesn't belong in this age. is the nightmare we are witnessing today in the name of democracy any better? I'm a true lover of true democracy, not the mediocre we practice here. |
