Funflipper: They have all forgotten so soon about the trailers loaded with corpes arriving the east from the north. The wailing and gnashing of teeth accross the southeast as people try to identify their dead relatives massacred by the northerners of which some haven't been found till date. Now some ignorant morons are aligning with the same northerners who massacred their people to wrestle power from their own southern brother in the name of politics. What a disgrace!! southern brothers indeed.... Even the blind can see that there's nothing like southern brothers. 2023 |

CharleyBright: I was doing NYSC in Kano when this riot took place. The city of Kano is not where a Christian should be in violent riot. Thousands of Christian and non indigeme lives were wasted for nothing sake.in that riot in Kano. Those street urchins called Almajiris are dangerous armies of death without mercy. The same little Almajiri children you give money and food everyday will easily turn on you to take your life so quickly. They have been so indoctrinated with deep seated hatred for people not of their religion and moments like riots are times they become killing machines to loot and kill. I lived in kano for 4 yrs, and witnessed 3 deadly riots in which I lost friends, co - workers and neighbours. The riots were: 1. Beauty Pageant (Miss world contest) in which Muslims said Nigeria should not host the contest. And when Nigeria went ahead to host it, some Northern cities including Kano went on riot killing non Muslims. 2. The US war against Libya. Muslims in Nigeria especially those in Kano decided to take the anger on Christians living in the North.. Thousands were slaughtered in Kano. 3. A Frenchman drew a cartoon of Muhammed. Muslims in Nigeria got angry and started killing Christians living in the North. I narrowly escaped with my life in Kano in those 3 riots. In one of them, I was smuggled out in the boot of a car by a Muslim colleague.
Na run I ran away from that city. I still have sad scars and very baf memories of that city. Nigeria has no business being one country. Can we really tame this obvious differences? |

They'll run when you attack but will still come back hoping you are not around. If they see you they'll run away. I'm tired of these animals(goats) and around my environment. Anyone who allows their goats to roam the streets and disturb others is wicked. Goats are extremely stubborn. |

Nigerians must try to avoid making themselves look so vulnerable to countries like the United States and her European allies. While punishments should be metted out to offenders, every attempt should be made to stop the normalisation of this practice of uprooting Nigerians from their homes and taking them to the United States for "punishments". We have enough courts in this country to handle such cases. Let's use our judicial system here. Afterall, we seldom hear of Americans being extradited to Nigeria. It always starts slowly, and before you know it the American prisons system will become another concentration camp for Nigerian men as it has become for Black Americans.. and where is the judicial system? The same one that sees black and calls it white? The same one that gives power to the highest bidder? Unless we have a patriot at the helms, we will continue to chase shadows and make ourselves a mockery of the world. 8 in every 10 Nigerian youth is into yahoo. Nigeria is a failed country!!! |

Family › Re: Is My Wife Right To Ask This? by Mandate1: 10:45pm On Aug 13, 2025 |
Israel5: Please (even though I know my appeal with fall on deaf ears too numerous to count in this forum), approach this issue with logic and without prejudice to the people involved.
My wife and I are duly blessed with a son who is in his basic 5 now. Also, we decided to get the daughter of one of my cousin to stay with us. She is one of 7 children. So I wanted to help raise a CHIMAMANDA.
As my rule, every child of same age under my room attends the same school and calls us Dad & Mum. The school part didn't quite seat well with my wife, who had a different opinion, but I prevailed anyway. Because na me dey pay school fees.
The girl is a year older than my son, but due to the level of education at the village before she came over, we made her be in the same class as my son. She met my son in primary 2. Now they are both in basic 5.
A shocker happened: This girl keeps coming up in the class, while my son keeps running away from the top. We've tried extra lessons, even tried changing schools. Now it looks as if the girl is better suited for school than my boy. She reads, spells and memorizes things too marvellous. I bought a dictionary cos of that.
I even buy gifts for her (for coming top) more than I do for my boy, to make him sit up, but my pikin nor send me o. Guy use cry & Woman power make me buy am bicycle. 😁
I would think he's being a spoilt boy, who believes daddy & mommy is there, I don't really know. But I am hopeful.
Now, my major issue is my heavily pregnant wife. She wants the girl to be changed/enrolled at a different school. In her defence, she wants her to be available to help her take care of things. The kid's school close by 3pm. She suggest government school that close earlier. I see sense in what she said but I feel like I'll be unfair to this young girl.
When I tried to have a healthy debate on the idea. Na so madam start to dey talk plenty tins wey I nor fit type. I have accepted to do her wish from September for peace.
Please, do you see another way I could avoid problems?
Is she right to have asked that I changed the girl's school just because she needs help around the house & her business? the quality education you give that girl today, might be the stepping stone to your children's success tomorrow. No let your wife use woman mindset braiswash u into taking that gurl to public school. Let your principle to life remain. |

When, you take 87% of what people own, and give them a paltry 13%, it is called 'armed robbery' they still have a share from the 87%. Though other factors play prominent roles in its distribution, population takes a larger chunk of it. |

You think you are the only person with sense In Nigeria? did you see the location they are all posting from? Egbeda, Ayobo etc. All these are locations in Lagos. What is Nigeria's current generating capacity? Majority of the places in Lagos were migrated to band A, hence the increased light. For every improved light you see in Lagos, an area in Band C to E is paying dearly for it. |
Politics › Re: Nigerians Express Happiness Over Improved Power Supply Nationwide by Mandate1: 4:25pm On Aug 10, 2025 |
WizardOfNG: Bro, you are wrong and will remain in darkness if you think the testimony of many Nigerians can somehow be a conspiracy "to promote tinubu reelection in 2027".
kindly petition your local DISCO office to find out if there may be a generation issue related to infrastructure.
OP is entirely correct because majority can testify to the work of Adelabu, Minister of power, per vastly improved and never before seen (at least in my lifetime) constant power supply mainly aided by much improved efficiency in the distribution end that higher tariffs introduced have more than justified.
I live in Lekki phase 1 and dabble in property development across the Island up to Ajah and Sangotedo which are tending towards Epe.
We have had steady power supply in my residence for like three to four months now with stretches of even four to five days of constant power. Same extends to areas across the Island I have property development interests in.
I don't have to reveal the above but do so to challenge others to fact check and discredit me if I lie and your sort are correct trying to insinuate the situation in your area is general across Nigeria. It is by being real we can change Nigeria for better and not with lies or pursuit of hidden agendas.
Many ordinary Nigerians have no interest interest in fooling anyone because of any 2027 political agenda. Residential and business power users are just happy to confirm they are getting constant power supply that is aiding them to make progress.
Politicians come and go whereas progress is what upright Nigerians should seek always and should be duty-bound to confirm when they experience it.
Again, if you really want steady power others are enjoying, then get in touch with your power DISCO to understand if there is an issue you can lobby your LGA chairman or legislature to look into. That is their job.
Your situation, assuming you are even telling the truth, is abnormal for the much improved current state of affairs many Nigerians are now enjoying.
Begin by doing something about it rather than think all others are in your shoes or working for Tinubu's re-election. pls don't call those testimonies that of Nigerians. Nigeria has 36 states and the FCT. You don't base your analysis or assumption on just Lagos and Abuja. 90% of those that commented are based in Lagos. People living in other states can't say same about power improvement. |

hegelian: Which kind lie be this.. From time memorial there are always some selected places with enough power supply especially those on 33kva but are in the minority, they are also the ones found on band A mostly.. The largest percentage of people around 80 to 90% are on 11kva and these are the people with 5hr, 2hrs, 0hrs and some 7 to 10hrs give or take.. The locations get rotated depending on lobbying of the people in the area.. Some area on 33kva could get swapped to 11kva and some on 11kva could negotiate their way into 33kva..however there are locality that are new with few households around and major power lines passing through them, these people always have constant light reason why you ton villages there will be light.. Also light gets better during raining season and this is fact from history..Enough of silly propaganda all to whitewash failures.. There is no improvement anywhere don't mind paid propagandist. Light improved in Lagos Band A, they term it all of Nigeria. Once the raining season is over we will reset back to zero light. Power was even way better under Buhari than what we have now. If you're not in Lagos, then consider your light very poor. |

seunmsg: Maybe your area is an exception. But for a lot of Nigerians, the reality is that power has improved considerably. You can see screenshots of people from Lagos, Abuja, Gusau, Jos, Ibadan, Ilorin etc all over the thread and they are all saying the same thing. power has improved in Lagos not all of Nigeria. I stay in Oyo state, and the light here is beyond comatose. |

Kudos to the Minister of power and everyone involved in the electricity sector from generation to final distribution to our homes and businesses.

postigar: Do ur maths 15% of 43m is how much When you get the figure, reason with IQ next time You bring in a car for 43m max including landing and clearing, if u make 4m as profit on the car max 5m,isnt it ok. We are just too greedy in this country. The same thing goes for other importers too and so called people bringing in food produce from the north this is not what you should consider. If you invest 45m in fixed deposit for 10% per annum, you'll get 4.5m without risk. A car dealer invests same amount in a car that takes 2-3months to land, bears all risks and costs of clearing. You don't expect him to get same margin of profit as someone who invested in fixed deposit without risk. 10-15% margin of profit is not too much. Mind you, the higher the risk, the higher the returns. |

India cannot afford to rely it's economy in the hands of it's arc rival :china.. moreover china is a producing nation and not a consuming nation...
So u see, no one can replace the US... you are spot on. America is the only country that can choose to produce 90% of what theg need domestically. They only choose not to do so and source externally due to cheap labour elsewhere. China can't do this. China cannot buy from outside, dey need big buyers like the USA to survive.
