Youngmoniii: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICE(CDS)

This is one of the components of the National Youth Service Corps designed to create opportunity for corps members to contribute in the development of their host communities. It further creates opportunity for corps members to fully interact with the host communities where they are posted for their primary assignments. Community Development Service (CDS) is compulsory and must be executed by every corps member, you have Group Community Development service as well as Personal Community Development Service.

Group or Year Round Community Development Service (YRCDS), executed by corps members in groups. Usually corps members are grouped based on their skills, qualifications, interest or the needs of the host communities. Immediately a corps member assumes duty and report to his/her local Government Inspector, he/she is placed in a CDS Group.

Below are some of the existing CDS groups at the Secretariat. Please note that each Local Government office have their own CDS groups

I personally advocate that you Endeavor that you join a CDS group that is in line with your chosen career path or lines up with your passion and interest.

After searching the net, I noticed that lagos state only pays those that work in its public service, all others are excluded

"Dr. Kasali stated further that a total number of 925 Corps members comprising of 583 from Ministry of Education, 17 corps members for Ministry of Health and 325 corps members from other Governmental Ministries and Parastatals received their newly increased allowances through the E- payment banking system with arrears. He confirmed that those that are serving with the state Ministry of Health and Education received N15,000.00 each while others were paid N10,000.00 each."

i dont think so. The state government would have to device a means to spread the payment around. We didnt pick stream 2, NYSC did, so i feel if they are paying 600 people and they have any iota of fairness, they would pay 300 stream1 corpers, and also reserve slot to pay 300 stream2 corpers.

I disagree. He doesn't have a point, infact he is daft and fatuous. This is a forum and everybody (registered users) have the priviledge to post whatever they so desire provided its not in anyway spamming or breaking the rules of the site. How does my attaching my signature to my post affect him or how does it correlate with been a graduate or with my family? It's people like him who bring trouble upon theirselves by their pokenosing and obstreperousity, and later they wonder how things went wrong.

Koffies: Congratulations to everyone who has gotten TS letter and those who have done medicals as well. We'll have more success stories soon in Jesus' name.
As for me, I just recently applied to GTbank but no reply/invitation. So this morning, I saw one comment here with about 5 HR staff email addresses and I again sent to all five. I'm joining this Orange family soon by God's grace. I pray the soon doesn't extend to 2015/2016.

futuredangote: Which place will make more sense for ppa? Outskirt of Lagos or main City

It all depends on if you have accomodation in the main city and itz very close to your ppa, if otherwise, you would over spend on transportation and the traffic would really deal with you... At the end, it all turns out to be punishment on yourself, especially if ur ppa doesnt pay you well. . . But if I may ask, which of the particular locations in lag do you describe as 'outskirts' ?

Ok. So were they paid allowance for the month they stayed at home? And did they pass out at the same time?

mikedimeji: It's has alway been in existence ever since issues started happening in some northern state, it's just now that the whole thing is pronounced, borno, yobe and Adamawa don't usually do their camp in their state.

i know most people posted to some states camp in another state due to certain factors, but its still the same day they all resume camp, compared to this time around which is a different month entirely.
