PoliticsRe: Hamman Yaji : The First Real Boko Jihadist Criminal by MansaMoussa: 5:40pm On Feb 25, 2016
Exactly!
Boko Haram is merely an extension of Jihadism, same as the fulani herdsmen marauding the MB today..funny enough, 100yrs after this was written, the minority tribes of the north are still hiding up on " inaccessible mountains like scared monkeys" while living their cities to the fulani to govern and establish dominance...Taraba, Gombe, Adamawa, Borno....who rules the plains?
Dear people's of Old kwararafa, come together, hold a secret meeting and chart a noble course for yourselves and your children
The battle hasnt ended, the tactics merely changed.

Science/TechnologyIf You Were To Trade 3yrs Of Your Life For A 3hr Moment-what Would It Be? by MansaMoussa(op): 11:03pm On Feb 17, 2016
Okay, there we were sitting down after the day's job when someone popped up this question....
We have heard of ritualists and cultists sacrificing a piece of their lifetime for some ephemeral money or fame experience..but some people surely treasure some moments so much they would trade their lives for them..
Biola said he could trade 3years of his life to fly in the F-22 Raptor for 30mins at Mach 2
Ahmed, says Standing in the Capitol and addressing the World for 30mins would do.
Hassan, treasures a Space experience.. while Chizzy says a taking part in a famous Battle Experience (Normandy, Khandahar, etc) is worth sacrificing 3yrs of his life to witness..

What about you?

ISpiksDaTroof:
You don't get it, do you? The problem is most of you can't see into the future. Go and research every great empire, ever great civilization, and you will see that the great leaders that set things in motion knew the importance of a large standing Army as they put their country on the path to greatness. As the plans to set Nigeria onto economic greatness is set in place, it is important that the Army also grows at a similar pace. You really think its possible to become a rich country and stronger, richer countries won't try to destroy you? If thats your belief, then you do not understand the nature of the world you live in or how its even run, you're just surviving in it--- or even why you want your country to be rich. This is one of the reasons why I say---and not disrespectfully--- that a large percentage of Nigerians want to be rich and their standard of living improved upon, but they want things to remain the same.

Nigeria will be great, and a Super power. Of that, I have no doubt in my mind. Maybe not in the next 15-20yrs, but soon, say 30-45yrs, if this change is kept up and improved upon. Its a gradual process. Believe me, your country is going through what other great countries have gone through on their road to greatness; impunity, wars, reckless thieving governments, corruption, the rich oppressing the poor etc But, there comes a time when one person comes and says "Enough is enough" and starts to put a vision into reality.

You need a large standing Army.
I beg to differ sir,
A Large Army is not necessarily an efficient one. The numerical strength of the Russian Imperial Army did not stop the Japanese from defeating them with a smaller army in the Russo-Japanese War...the Combined Force of the PLA and Kwomintang fled before a much smaller Kwantung Army.
King Darius of Persian was vanquished by Alexander's much smaller army..
How many British soldiers did it take to subjugate the Benin, Kanem-Borno, Sokoto, and Oyo Empires?
How many "Little Green Men" wrested Donbass,Crimea, from Ukraine?

Superior Weapons, Men and tactics carry the Day in any engagement. anytime anyday(ask the Romans) .
What the Nigerian Army needs isn't more a gunslingers, but more Brains, Hardware, Mobility, Logistics etc.
The mass attack and mass retreat doctrines of Liberia/Sierra leone in the 90s will not win us any battle today..
We need highly specialised, highly mobile, tough army that can deploy within 4hrs reactionary time anywhere in the country, and 24hrs anywhere in West Africa with the ability to carry out specific objectives with Surgical precision.
We are seeing the results of these in the NE by the gallantry of the 72nd SF batt.,
It took the death of Millions of Men charging across man's land in WW1 to take few Machine Gun positions,to prove that a Tank is a force multiplier.
We need border guards, more customs officals, etc, the NYSC programme if be fully militarised can give Nigeria a Reserve Force of about 200k extra men and women that can mobilise within a week.

that's wrong. The Fulani people originated from Nigeria you should always feel some form of national sympathy towards them no matter where they are or where they find themselves. Wrong, they originated from Foutta Jallon in Guinea.

Science/TechnologyRe: Ways To Keep Your Tech Swag Despite High Electricity Tariffs by MansaMoussa: 2:34pm On Feb 12, 2016
1. Put off bulbs, water heaters, etc before leaving the house.
2. Get a Prepaid Meter
3. Avoid using Electric hotplates, etc often, mix up cooking with other sources of heating eg Gas, etc.
,4. A solar inverter may seem expensive at first, but its cheaper and more ecofriendly in the long run.
5. You could use profit generated from doing business with your appliances to pay off rates...eg. two freezers in your house makes no sense if you can't stock one up with minerals., water, Ice block etc for sale.
Foreign AffairsRe: Tension Mounts At Dumso, Ghana, As Irate Youth Kill 80 Cattle F The Fulanis by MansaMoussa: 8:20am On Feb 12, 2016
Youths of Dumso,
You have done well, now fortify yourselves and prepare for a long war of attrition, which if handled well, would end with a decisive victory for your son's and daughters.
1stly, expel any of your daughters and sons married to any herdsman, they are spies automatically. ( Ask the Mangu of Plateau state).

Set up a formidable vigilante group armed enough to take on 20 men with AK47 rifles at any point in time.( ask the Berom of Plateau State)

Any Lunatic roaming Dumso, who isn't a resident lunatic should be apprehended immediately...their most favourite mode of intelligence gathering is sending in one of their own into the community disguised as a lunatic( ask southern Kaduna people), that madman is s bloody spy.

Do not sell to their women on market days...they are sizing you up

Encourage your Children to Climb trees and your Palm wine tappers should be carried along. They should report any strange movements immediately, to the chief, and the Vigilante dispatched immediately to investigate..

All water bodies in Dumso-streams, lakes, ponds, etc..should be closely monitored, your enemies love water

Colonise and populate areas of high elevation to give yourselves strategic advantage.

Dispatch messages to neighbouring communities to join your alliance., if they refuse, infiltrate them with your own spies and view them as enemies also( such communities form Forward Operational Bases for your enemies.)

Get your daughters to marry into the neighbouring communities to act as your spies also.

Involve all your Sons and Daughters in the Armed Forces and Govt, to join your struggle. They will do same.

Pre-emptive Raids when they come close to Dumso is allowed, to roughen them up a bit and size up their strengths.

Make alliances with their Enemies in other parts of Ghana...the enemy of your enemy is your friend.

Nobody must sit on the fence, either you are for Dumso or against..anyone suing for peace should be treated like a traitor..

Sustain these until they delete Dumso from their grazing route.

God bless the Youth of Dumso.

HealthHorrible Services At MDCN: Drs Recount Your Experience by MansaMoussa(op): 9:40am On Feb 11, 2016
Dr NLer,
In line with the Spirit of "Chanji" and the Buhari's endorsement of the Whistleblowers Act, Almighty Freedom of Information and Speech, and Democracy, I'll like to exercise these rights by aiming to shine more light on the activities of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. We saw that Board of this Regulatory body was dissolved swiftly by the new administration and even though alot of rancour was generated by this decision which saw the NMA, NPMCN, etc making strong statements denouncing the move, the truth remains that Thousands of Practising Doctors in Nigeria heaved sighs of relief.
Sorry to say,MDCN services are a big disgrace to our already battered reputation as Doctors in Nigeria.
While a lot of administrative and academic bodies within the Medical family have adopted global best practices as their operational model (epic thumbs up to NPMCN,WAPMC,etc) fielding consistent annual events timetables, detailed registration procedures, excellent payment options, dedicated helplines, etc, the Primary regulatory body of Doctors in Nigeria still treat her benefactors in a not so appealing manner that often leaves you a notch Lower on your Affect table.
From the Site chosen to situate this Apex Body ( person wey make the waka go understand) which makes you wonder what Abuja Central Area is for, to the Quality of Service offered there, you need not be told that reforms are needed.
Dear MDCN, while structural appeal forms a part of 24th Century Customer care, you will agree with me that Security Doors, Guest Registers, Neat Rooms, Good Chairs etc alone does not leave the customer happy when he leaves the door.
You are a Service Provider, and your 1st area of priority is to provide the services which you advertise, to Customer satisfaction. The Grumbling Customers, Rude Staff, We-Are-Doing-You-A-Favour-Attitude,Indefinite Operational Pattern,Lack of Appreciation for Speed of Service Delivery, etc still leaves much to be desired.
There's absolutely no Justification for a Doctor having fulfilled all the requirements for Annual Licence Renewal to fly down from Port harcourt to Abuja, sleep in a Hotel, get to MDCN and be told it's not ready after months. This Offence may sound too trivial a reason to post this long epistle to lament about, but when you consider that fact that People have lost Job Opportunites, Travel Plans, Bounced from NYSC Camps, etc, the Enormity of this "slight lackadaisical attitude" becomes apparent.
Dear Sirs/Madams in charge of the smooth running of this body, we understand you are doing a great Job to keep the place running at top speed, Nigerian Doctors would love to see more commitment to Service delivery in terms of Speed of transaction and delivery even at the extra expense to us( the fact that our processing fees are higher than that of other professional bodies is a story for another day). I go to FIRS/Immigrations/BoI/WAEC/NMPCN/Trading Houses etc and get sorted out within weeks. Some of these places assign you case officers who give you day-to-day updates on the process via any correspondence of your choosing until the service is completely rendered. Then I come to the Agency regulating an Erudite Profession like Ours and you get less than Satisfactory services, you sigh deeply and try your best to not let it compound your thoughts.
Dear MDCN, we have seen JAMB in recent times mobilise Hundreds of Thousands of Candidates, conduct exams, marked and publish results within 50 working days(from Months), which shows with the right push, it can be done.
Can Licence issues be sorted out in 3days minimum and 5days maximum?
Can more staff be employed or the employed well motivated?
If the cost implications are too much, could you pass it on to us( because Hotel costs in Abuja is already hiking up the cost of the current process inadvertently).
Can we be assigned Case Officers, without me having to acquiesce a Mr or Mrs John/Jane Doe to know where things stand for me? Or me being a Big Oga who comes in his car and gets his done in Minutes?
I regret having to use this media to media to record my displeasure, but this message isn't for MDCN alone, it's for a lot of MDAs in Nigeria,
The FG is looking for ways to cut costs, and the Civil Service is the Fattest Cow in the Herd for now, if we don't reform from within, a Reform from Without may become necessary and such invariably come with Heads rolling.
Thank you
