I think that generally if you have skill worker visa or a dependent , it’s very easy to get. I also has a friend here in Nairaland who applied with his family and they gave them 5 years. Am going for my trip this August and when I come back I will go and collect Canada 10years. Yes that the privilege we enjoy from here.

Will I have to pay/book for a hotel room and show evidence of the booking as evidence? Because Honestly I want to apply now and maybe travel Xmas or January and spend a week. Can a letter from my employer explaining my leave period, my yearly earnings and my BRP Card be sufficient relevant document for application? Please put me through Bro

Been on tenofovir medication for the past 2 and half years for chronic Hep-B.

Look for the site for US embassy in the UK
They will state the process for booking appointment there and any other requirements there.

1. B1-B2 VISA requirements is the same worldwide. All you have to do is prove ties to the UK (especially) or your original country of origin and show availability of enough funds for your trip as well as purpose of trip.

2. If you have not lived up to 2 years as a resident in the UK before planning this trip it can be misinterpreted as a ploy to immigrate.

3. Look out for a better reason to visit USA ie on business conference or seminar, short employment /skill training , Xmas holiday, special medical check up , attending a relative graduation etc. required documents depend on purpose of trip.

My Uncle stays in London UK and that's the address on my TB medical Certificate. Tho I'm to stay with him temporarily before I move permanently to my main job location address permanently.

Now my Job location is at Barnsley, south Yorkshire which is 4 hours journey from London.

Now on my online Visa application, I was asked my UK address, I still use same London address on my medical Certificate. Next page, I was asked if i will be staying in another location, i answered Yes. Then the subsequent questions is when I will arrive the place in UK and when I will leave the place.

Now I made a mistake by not asking my employe anything accommodation...I want to avoid any issue concerning this accommodation address issue.what should I do?
Can IOM issue another certificate if I tell them to change my UK address to my work address because definitely I won't be travelling 4 hours everyday from London to Barnsley for work. What should I do?

You can take IELTS for UKVI (ACADEMIC), it is accepted by UKVI for the Skilled Worker visa and also by most UK universities for undergrad & postgrad studies.

I don't think so. The only accepted IELTS for skilled worker migration is IELTS UKVI General and can't be used for Academic Purpose. Also, The IELTS UKVI Academics is only for Academics and can't be used for Skilled worker migration.

On January 26th main applicant got a mail from home office to submit another English proficiency as the IELST that was submitted was not UKVI IELST.
Registered for Pierson but was not allowed to write with national ID. We then registered for language cert, exam was written on January 31st. Result came out on February 7th and was sent to home office same day.
Application moved to VAC on February 10th
Application received by VAC on February 10th
collection mail from TLS received on February 10th.
BPR mail received today February 11th for both main applicant and dependents .

I want to say a very big thank you to everyone that has been contributing in this skilled work page. I learnt a lot from here .

You cannot use same IELTS for Academics. Its purely for migration via work only.

Meaning I can only start UK visa application by 6th or 7th February after IELTS Result is out.

Did the sponsor indicate the expiry date of the CoS? Some says one month, Others indicate 3 months…check the validity of your CoS? I think you should hurry and apply for your visa…we aren’t sure of the future of the Care Assistant visa beyond this month…fingers crossed
