Hello guys, I actually read from the thread below that some candidates were tested on Microsoft Excel when the company conducted aptitude tests some years ago; that's why I asked if anyone here did any Microsoft Excel question in the aptitude test. https://www.nairaland.com/2234282/doreo-partners-test-invite/1 Thanks for the tips, guys! I appreciate! |
Hello guys! I also received an invite. For those who have done the test, please, did it involve an assessment of one's proficiency in Microsoft Excel (and/or any other Microsoft package), and in the use of its formulas? Apart from verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and reading comprehension which most organizations test for, what other specific aspects did the aptitude test cover? Also, for the questions on chess, can you assist with examples of such questions? Apologies for my many questions. Thanks guys! |
lonelydora:Thanks a lot! |
lonelydora:Thanks a lot! Any idea about their pay package? |
happy4lucy:Hi! I just sent you a PM on this. Kindly reply. Thanks. |
lonelydora:Hi, I just sent you a PM. You seem to know the company quite well. I just got invited for an aptitude test and I need more infos about them beyond what I saw on their website and other online sources. Kindly assist. |

Hi Alagbasuyi, How did the aptitude test go? I also received an invite for the test. Useful tips and heads up as regards the whole assessment procedure and the nature of the test will be appreciated. Thanks. |
Thanks a lot for this thread. Quite informative. What would you advise someone wishing to acquire any of these qualifications, but who has no experience in any of these fields and has been practising in another field for a long time? What do you also think about the CIMA certification for someone who has never done anything accounting-related before? Thanks! |
Hi OP, Since you don't mind doing an MBA here in Nigeria that doesn't disturb your job, why not find out about OAU Ife's Executive MBA. It's strictly weekends, it's pretty fast and it's not affected by any strike action. It costs 480K and payment per semester is allowed (1st Year 1st Sem.- 150K, 1st Year 2nd Sem.- 120K, 2nd Year 1st Sem.- 110K, 2nd Year 2nd Sem.- 100K). However, you'll have to be travelling to school for lectures two weekends each month (the 2nd and the 3rd weekends), as attendance is usually taken and it attracts some marks, but there's no minimum attendance requirement, and it's not as if you are hindered from sitting for exams, nor is it the case that you lose your studentship, if you don't attend lectures regularly; attendance forms part of your CA and you only lose marks for the days you don't attend classes. Lectures hold at Moro (a town near Ile-Ife) where the school's Centre for Distance Learning is located. There's usually an entrance exam, but it's not so difficult, and almost all the candidates are usually given admission (based on my observations sha, I may be wrong though). New students start lectures around Nov./Dec. each year, so I believe applications are still open, but still find out sha! I wish you all the best! |
Bolisticbond026:Thanks a lot... I just sent you a PM. |
Hello guys, Nice interaction going on here! I have downloaded the PowerPrep II software several times, but it's not working on my system despite the fact that my system has Windows 10. I have used both Internet Explorer 11 and Microsoft Edge, but the software is still not working on my system. Please, has anyone else experienced the same problem? Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Thanks. |
Hello guys, Happy New Year to you all! Spoke with a friend yesterday, and she told me she won a scholarship on ScholarX to study for an MBA @ Harvard, and that she will be sitting for her GRE on Sunday. As at the time we were speaking yesterday, she was yet to send her application to Harvard Business School, and she said she was trying to pay her application fee and forward her application ahead of the Nigerian time equivalent of the deadline (the deadline was 12 noon Boston time yesterday). Please does anyone know about ScholarX and how it works? Can you win a scholarship on the platform to study a course @ a school you're yet to apply to? |
The use of unsustainable sources of energy is a major challenge the world is facing. It takes a lot to generate even 1KW of electricity, not to talk of generating tens of thousands of megawatts which many countries need to power their economies, especially African countries in the sub-saharan region. The importance of alternative sources of energy (which are cleaner, renewable and sustainable) cannot be overemphasized, and it is high time the Nigerian government started looking into this area with a view to investing in such sources of energy in order to drive national development. It's good to know that a group of young postgraduate students of a Nigerian university are working towards providing solar reading lamps to brilliant students in communities that have no access to electricity. This, in my opinion, will improve their chances of excelling in their studies as much as (if not better than) their counterparts who have access to electricity would. In other words, you guys are creating a level playing field for the future generation, regardless of their parents' economic and social status, such that they are not inhibited from taking on the challenges of the future as leaders of tomorrow. Kudos to you guys, sedulousQueen! A cleaner and more sustainable source of energy like solar energy is the way to go! I have voted and confirmed my vote, and I hope you guys win! Cheers! P.S: Seun, omaj4,fynestboi, Lalasticlala, ishylove, and other mods, please help the OP and her team members move this to front page. This is a commendable project, and they need to win this for Nigeria! |
cuspy:Hi cuspy, I'm considering countries like the US, Canada, France, Germany, Austria, and Belgium, and a PhD in areas like Business and Public Policy, Public Affairs, Strategy and Management, Policy Studies, and Policy Analysis etc. Funding will play a critical role in the choice I'll be making sha! |
sedulousQueen:Hi sedulousQueen, I'm considering a PhD in areas like Business and Public Policy, Public Affairs, Strategy and Management, Policy Studies, and Policy Analysis etc. I'm also considering countries like the US, Canada, France, Germany, Austria, and Belgium. I was also considering going for a PhD in Finance, but it seems I'll need much more than an MBA to undertake it, especially when my first degree is in the sciences. However, you can try HEC Paris, France. They don't just offer a tuition-waiver for all their PhDs, they also provide monthly stipends, and you get to enjoy these benefits the moment you're admitted. However, I'm not sure they offer something in Energy Finance and Risk though. You can check German schools as well. But why Energy Finance and Risk? Do you have degrees in areas like Petroleum Engineering, Energy Economics, Environment Sciences, or you have experience working in any of those fields? |
Scholastica16:Thanks a lot! |
Time2Smile:Thanks a lot! I appreciate! |
pennstate:Yeah, thanks. I hope I don't get any troubling mail from ETS again. |
sedulousQueen:Hello sedulousQueen, I'm considering a PhD in Management/Social Science too. I had initially registered to take GRE Dec. 4, but I had to cancel it and re-register to take it June 2017. Which country and school are you considering? |
seeker88:Thanks a lot! However, I became worried when I noticed they were being evasive while talking to them on the phone on Friday and Saturday. They were using gimmicks like feigning not being able to hear you properly when you're demanding answers to certain questions, and also cutting calls in the middle of conversations; but the moment you say "stop pretending, I know you can hear me, so just give me answers now", they now reply you, saying "no sir, I'm not pretending, network is bad here", and you now begin to wonder how come they were able to hear that part clearly. I experienced that with two of their staff I spoke with. At a point, I had to threaten to visit their office with Mobile Police officers first thing in the morning on Monday (yesterday)- which I was really willing and ready to do, as I had gotten in touch with some of my friends who are Mopols and a relative who is a military officer at Ikeja Cantonment- when I noticed that the staff that processed my registration was making contradictory comments, and also sounding evasive. She said the issue would be sorted out this week, as her boss would be in town on Monday (yesterday). I then gave her a timeline for resolution, after which I would get them arrested (and I meant it). Later that day (Saturday), I got a mail from ETS, and to my surprise, the mail indicated that the outstanding balance of $225 had been paid. So this made me feel more uncomfortable about those guys (B.Y. Mafit). Why did the lady say it would be sorted out upon her boss's arrival this week when it could be sorted out the same day? I narrated this experience to a friend of mine who has done GRE in the past, and he said he hadn't heard about B.Y. Mafit before and couldn't say anything about them, but he advised that I be careful of GRE registration agents, especially the ones that offer discounted fees, as he once heard that some of them make use of fake/ stolen credit cards, which would eventually make ETS cancel test appointments or even withhold test results. That's why I felt I should share my experience here in case there are people who have experienced such and would be able to advise accordingly, so I don't lose out at the end of the day. Thanks, and I'm expecting more comments, people! |
Hello guys, Hope you're all doing great. I couldn't make my initial GRE test date, so I cancelled it, chose a date that I felt would give me ample time to prepare, and re-registered through B.Y. Mafit. However, one week after re-registering and receiving an order confirmation from ETS, I got a Payment Failure Notice from ETS with the following message: "Dear Manwonder, We are unable to process your payment. Please note that this may result in an outstanding balance being posted to your account. Please contact ETS to resolve this issue. Sincerely, GRE Services" When I checked my ETS account, I saw a notification from ETS saying I had the following outstanding payments: Electronic Chargeback Service Fees from Order - $20 Outstanding Balance from Order - $205 Total - $225 I got in touch with B.Y. Mafit, and they said they would sort it out, but that it wouldn't affect my test registration, as my test appointment was intact and the appointment information still indicated the appointment date and venue I had selected. Please guys, I want to find out: 1. Has anyone experienced this before? If so, what is the implication? 2. Has anyone tried B.Y. Mafit before? If so, what was your experience like? 3. Could it be that B.Y. Mafit was trying to act funny with ETS? 4. How can this situation be remedied? Thanks guys! |
codexgigax:Hi codexgigax, I'm interested in the Magoosh videos and the PowerPrep software. I just sent you a PM; kindly reply. |
