this should be the same as a travel support letter I guess. What my school sent to me is a travel support letter, I hope it serves same purpose.
Yuppp, its same thing

Authorization letter isn't a required document for an international student with a valid visa.
Mmmhhh? Well Turkish airlines demanded for it though. And his visa is valid till 2025

Congrats to your brother. May Canada favour him.
Please which one is Authorization Letter again?
Authorization letter was given by his school in support of his travel to Canada. All DLI’s should have a quarantine plan for international students.

My brother’s Landing gist
His program starts Sept 7th
He traveled Aug 2nd (4 weeks and 5days)

He Got to MMA, they asked him for:
Enrolment letter
Acceptance letter
Covid test
Authorization letter
ArriveCan receipt
3 days Hotel reservation
Which he provided.
The airline staff (Turkish airlines) verified the documents, and said he was okay to board.

He arrived Toronto airport; officer asked for his acceptance letter and letter of introduction.
And issued him study permit. He spent over 2hours at immigration because there was a long queue (so be prepared)
After immigration, he went to claim his baggage.
After that, he went to do covid test, spent over an hour lol.
I was outside waiting for him though.
When he came out, I drove him to the hotel for quarantine; cooked some food (which I took to the airport) to sustain him for the 3 days, because I’m pretty sure he won’t like them oyibo meals as a first timer Lol.
Everything went smooth and I thank God for a safe trip.
Wishing everyone coming this fall Safe travels.

I am suprised she asked this question here when she follows the student thread, read how others were turned back too including the recent guy and also shared when her brother was refused boarding.
The one month rule stands just as u stated correctly.
Oh Hey boo, I follow the thread doesn’t mean I read everything, most times I just come on there to congratulate people and drop my questions.
But anyways, he was allowed to board today, he’s on his way to canada. Thanks

Hello All,

Please can anyone advise on extending study permit in Canada? Has anyone done it recently? What documents were submitted? Is it a complex process like getting a fresh study permit
Your Valid Passport
Proof of Enrolment or acceptance letter
Proof of Financial support
Passport photograph
IMM 5709

That’s all I submitted when I extended mine and it was easy, got it within 4weeks

Good morning bosses, please I need someone to recommend colleges apart from FANSHAWE AND GEORGE BROWN, that offers health related courses in Dental Technology, Dental Hygienists, clinical period ontology, restorative and periodontal practice, periodontology and Implantology. With application fees below 100CAD. College with low tuition fees should also be put into consideration.
@justmellow
@frankroben
@lekibobo and other gurus.
Thank you while we're awaiting your responses
Depends on what province/city you looking at.
I can recommend HUMBER COLLEGE cause I just graduated from there
You can check SENECA COLLEGE too (but it’s highly competitive, your chances of getting accepted are slim, IMO and previous experience)

Did you get the full apartment or just a room? Trying to see if I can still cook my own food if I rent a room in the apartment.
If you can’t cook your own food you can always order food. Download UberEats app, there are a whole lot of restaurants on there you can order food from including nigerian food. You can check that out

I have been seeing this.Does Canada allow parents to accompany students for temporal visa?am surprised at this question. maybe am not well informed but ur parents are supposed to be part of ur ties to Nigeria na.if ur parent accompany u to Canada as a visitor who does not have a work permit, hu will be sponsoring u both.an not a guru but I sincerely think parent accompanying u to "settle down" is a red flag.I think spouse looks better or more convincing
If they’re going for undergrad or high school, yes parents can accompany them. My Mom accompanied me when I first traveled, that was 4yrs ago and I was 18 then, she helped me settle down.
Don’t know if it’s allowed now, but to answer your question, yes parents can accompany you.

My work permit just got approved
And my Sister’s PPR just landed, she applied in March.
March 5th
Biometrics March 10th with upfront medicals

Double approval!!!!, I’m so excited
Canada is sweet but hard when you live alone with no family, it’s so depressing ngl. Wasn’t easy for me doing that for 4years. I have friends though but it’s different without family.
Now having my brother and sister coming over is what I’ve always dreamt of and I’m so happy my dreams came true.
My brother got approved in January: coming for bsc
My Sister got approved today: coming for masters
Thank you everyone for all the tips you give on here, it was really helpful. The land of maple will favour us all

Then you didn’t explain it well, are you on break? If you started online and school is in session then the shouldn’t be any problem na.

Ethiopian airline is like the best because other airline would hv to pass through US and you need a visa even though you are just transiting
No boo you’re wrong, not all airlines passes through the US
BA goes through London
Turkish airlines: Istanbul
Lufthansa: Germany
Royal Air maroc: Morroco
Air France: Paris
KLM: Amsterdam

You don’t need transit visa for these

Only Delta I’ve seen that goes through the US

Its not really about Ethiopian airline per se even though I tried to look around and still saw students from other airlines. Its good that you have the letter of support from school for travel. I dont have that and that may have contributed to it, but I had my enrollment letter. I will advise that if you can reach out by calling to CBSA Officers or by mail. please try to do that. I think its a new development and you may rea;lly not find anyone specific to the airline. I also read here sometime last week that people where sent back but those people were actually to resume in September which doesn't apply to You nor I.
My brother had letter of support from the school, infact he had every document they needed, they still denied him boarding.

I was denied boarding as well when I was going back in May, cause I visited nigeria.. I’m done with school btw but my study visa was still valid, they denied me boarding. I had to book a flight to the US and went in through the US.

This thing that I am reading about Ethiopian airlines not allowing people to board until physical classes start in Sept is quite frightening because my flight is scheduled for next week.

I started classes in May and the semester runs till August. In addition, the Prof. I am doing research with is expecting me for research at the lab. I have verification of enrolment and also letter of support from the school for travel. I am fully vaccinated but I still booked for 3 days quarantine to avoid all this kind of mess.

Asides @oyinluv, has anyone here traveled with ethiopian airlines recently and had this issue. Cus it will be really devastating if they don't allow me board.

Based on what I read hear about Ethiopian airlines previously here, the experiences had been positive and I don't why this.
Same with other airlines, my brother was denied boarding with Air France, he tried using Turkish airlines, same thing. I guess its the new airline rule

Hello All,
Anyone had a passport appointment with the Nigerian Embassy Ottawa yet? How do you travel to Ottawa? Same day or previous day?Road/train? How does it work when one gets there? Do you have to lodge in a hotel?
I went the previous day by train, (ViaRail). And yeah I lodged in a hotel after my appointment the following day I left same day.

Sadly, it doesn't work this way in Nigeria airports. Those airlines staffs work as if they are Canadian border officers . I was going for my semester 3. I have evidence of the completed semesters and enrolment confirmation for semester 3 starting in September but was refused boarding by Egyptair. They held it was too early to travel for September resumption. Me weh be old student already o. That's how I was turned down. I told them my visa was approved since November 2020 and was not in a hurry to japa but for where. I argued with them to take me there to face the border officer myself and take responsibility if returned by the border officer. Those airlines especially the ones operated by Africa countries won't board you. I explained my kids exemption letter were expiring and not certain about renewal and it was necessary to travel early to get enough time after quarantine to rent and find schools for them before resumption so I can balance their school runs and mine but for where. She categorically told me should wouldn't answer me again. Myself and other students were just treated like slaves in our own country. Hardest of it is the airline requesting fair difference and penalty payments to reschedule. Anyway we shall overcome all these ill treatment soon.
It is strongly advised to wait few weeks before resumption. Although I'm sure Airlines operated by Europe countries wouldn't go that far.
I think all airlines do
Air France refused my brother from boarding, He tried Turkish airlines they didn’t let him still. And this was a few days ago
Its so frustrating
