Nairaland GeneralLagos Ppro Urges Wives To Support Husband by Marcelinho(op): 3:23pm On Aug 10, 2016
Lagos State Command Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos called on
the wives of junior police personnel to support their partners and encourage them towards
performing their duties effectively.

She stated this while receiving representatives of the Police Wives Association, (the umbrella body for wives of junior personnel in her office recently.

“Junior officers are the first point of contact with the public, they paint the picture of the force. So if you wives show good morals and character in the house, it will help them to be psychologically balanced,” she said.

She added: “As wives of junior police officers, you have a lot of work to do. You have to be
supportive as no man will like to return home from a stressful day only to face a nagging wife.”

SP Badmos enjoined the representatives of PWA to work hard towards achieving the objectives of the Association.
While pledging her support to the members, she also advised them to reach out to the wife of the IGP, Mrs. Ibrahim Idris.

The leader of the group, Mrs. Dupe Adebayo said the visit was to extend their best wishes to the PPRO and foster a stronger relationship, noting that the Association requires the support of the Command to succeed in achieving its goals.
Speaking, Mrs Dupe said: "we appreciate you (the PPRO) for giving us this chance to pay a visit today and to familiarise ourselves with you to ensure a stronger bond.”

The Police Wives Association was inaugurated in 2015 by the immediate past President of
Police Officers Wives Association, Mrs Agharase Arase. The PWA is the umbrella body for
spouses of junior police personnel.

PoliticsAbia Crisis: Traditional Leaders Want Uche Ogah As Governor by Marcelinho(op): 5:15pm On Jul 07, 2016
Traditional leaders in Abia state have backed the court decision to sack Okezie Ikpeazu and appoint Uche Ogah as governor of the state. A cross-section of Abia State leaders, including traditional rulers, called for the immediate swearing-in of Ogah.
Leader of the group and traditional prime minister of Ibeku Kingdom, Chief Uche Akwukwaegbu in a communiqué read at the end of the traditional ruler’s meeting in Umuahia backed Ogah as governor of the state.

A Federal High Court in Abuja recently sacked Ikpeazu and appointed Ogah as the governor of Abia state. The forum urged what they called the “Adolphus Wabara-led Abia Concerned Elders” to support the government of President Muhammadu Buhari. The forum “frowns at the negative reactions of some reactionary forces who see the Abuja High Court and INEC decision as hasty, as people who are used to disobeying court orders, which President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is fighting hard to change.
“This forum views the attitude and reaction of the Adolphus Wabara-led Abia Concerned Elders as that of people who are yet to cue into the President Buhari change mantra. “The public is advised to disregard the information contained in the communiqué as sponsored by those who have contributed in no small measure to the collapse and stunted growth of our dear Abia State.
“This forum would not have responded to the communiqué, as published in the media by the so-called Concerned Elders, if not for the falsehood, distortion of facts and misleading effects on the people as contained in their so-called communiqué. “As the true representatives of the people of Abia State, we condemn …the purported meeting in Abuja by some people from Abia State in the name of Concerned Elders of the state as their resolutions do not reflect in any way the reality on the ground.” The group added that the people of Abia want Ogah to be governor and urged the “Adolphus Wabara-led Abia Concerned Elders” to convince former governor Okezie Ikpeazu to quit his fight to remain governor of the state.
“The true position of things in Abia is that all Abians – male and female, young and old, irrespective of clan, religion and political group – are yearning for Dr Uche Ogah, hence the hilarious and wild celebration that was witnessed on all streets and villages in the state. “All interest groups, professional bodies, youths and women’s groups and community leaders passionately desire a turnaround in the state, and everyone is happy that a court of law has finally restored the mandate of the people’s choice, Dr Ogah. “Consequently, we urge the Wabara-led acclaimed Elders’ Forum not to pretend that it does not know the right thing to do, which is to advise ‘former’ governor of the state to honourably quit and respect the rule of law.
“We, therefore, emphatically declare our unwavering support for the court ruling, demanding the swearing-in of Dr Ogah immediately, as the Abuja Federal High Court ordered.” Recall the youth wing of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo has accused Uche Ogah of being hungry for power as he tussles for the governorship of Abia state with Okezie Ikpeazu. the group noted that Ogah was fronting for some elements who were opposed to Igbo political interest.

PoliticsRe: PDP Reveals How Fayemi Sponsored Buhari's Election by Marcelinho(op): 1:47pm On Jul 04, 2016
feedthenation:
Why is it now that this allegation against against Fayemi is just coming to public information.

PDP is trying everything to be relevant.
Something will always lead to something, that we know.
PoliticsPDP Reveals How Fayemi Sponsored Buhari's Election by Marcelinho(op): 1:40pm On Jul 04, 2016
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti
state has revealed how Kayode Fayemi, the
former governor of the state and current
minister of solid mineral development,
donated a whooping N1.5 billion of the state
money to fund the election of President
Muhammadu Buhari.

The party, which earlier berated the
president for using the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to
fight the opposition, has now asked the
president to refund the alleged sum to the
coffers of the state that is groaning under a
harsh economic condition.

“Equity and justice demand that Buhari should
return what he got from Ekiti state treasury
through Fayemi if he is running after those
who allegedly got money from the office of the
national security adviser,” the party said in a
statement

Signed by Jackson Adebayo, the publicity
secretary of the party in the state, the
statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Monday
said that the N1.5 billion, if returned, would
go a long way in cushioning the effects of
the dwindling economic fortune of the Ekiti,
especially payment of workers salary.

The PDP alleged that Fayemi transferred
N1.5 billion from his account in a bank
located along Liberation Square, Accra,
Ghana to the APC presidential campaign
fund account “in other to place him in a
vantage position for ministerial appointment
should Buhari win the February 14 presidential
election,” and true to his expectation, he was
appointed minister.

“N1.5 billion is a lot of money and Ekiti state
government will only need to add some
millions to be able to pay one month salary if
Buhari returns the money.

“The APC government of Fayemi left office with
August and September 2014 salaries of
workers unpaid but the same Fayemi could
donate N1.5 billion to Buhari’s campaign just
because he wanted to be minister.

“Where then is the morality in Buhari’s anti-
corruption posture when he was funded with
stolen fund?
“The president must therefore return the N1.5
billion stolen from Ekiti state that was used to
fund his election,” the PDP said.

While reiterating the PDP’s support for the
fight against corruption, the party said:
“President Buhari must first remove the logs in
his eyes before his attempt to remove the
toothpicks in other people’s eyes can be taken
seriously and the first step he must take is to
return the N1.5 billion he got from Fayemi to
fund his election.”

Meanwhile, the EFCC has reportedly stepped
up its search for houses linked to the
governor as the anti-graft continues with its
investigation of the governor over money
laundering.
