I saw the below from GIGM website. How are Nigerians coping , how are corpers and traders coping, what about those with other businesses like burial, weddings etc. This is shocking

it is not mandatory to add your spouse at any stage if your spouse is unaccompanied and not travelling with you to Canada. However, Presently many people are actually adding their unaccompanied spouse after passing the eligibility stage of the PR process. This does not affect the score, but I’m sure sooner or later IRCC will crack down on this practice, especially for people who are not newly married but initially stated that their spouse was unaccompanied to increase their CRS scores, only to add them later after passing the eligibility stage so the application can be processed together , knowing full well that spouse sponsorship after landing in Canada can take over a year to process sometime.

this is false and cannot be done. If you chose unaccompanied and change it after passing eligibility the scores will be recalculated. The scores is only locked if they are newly married.

Many people that came to Canada for greener pastures with kids, before you ask them why they came!they will tell you they came to Canada because of their children that is why they are here,forgetting that children born here or migrated to canada,will abandon ancestoral roots after staying in canada for years that's bad at the long run, some homes in nigerian villages are now empty because of migration .
However Canada is best for children especially Canadian new born children,the government looks after them and elderly, you'll pay your taxes to support this group of people which is not bad.
As for the live,there is no live in canada,you will only do shopping and work,and prices of groceries are very expensive because of gst and hst placed on them,your kids is the top priority before work.when you try to make end meet and pay bills,you will find out that,you have no live in canada, yeah live is that bad in canada!
As for the work: it will depend on the type of job you are looking for,and income,there are jobs in Canada and same time no job!
But with low wage income without two jobs or overtime, by the time you pay bills,car mortgage,car insurance and maintenance , home mortgage, or house rent,phone bill,electricity etc,you may not have much on savings.
Whether on high wage or low wage income or status!@ the end of the day,you are only a worker in canada no live..
With PR you can go back to school to upgrade your qualifications is cheap,it is an advantage! But this will add more stress to your live,seeking further education plus work,plus kids,you'll have no choice. Some PR holders are on low wages jobs some obtained masters and Bachelor's degree still went back to school for further studies they have no choice..
Canada weather is the toughest,car is not a luxury in canada,you'll need one for winter!if you can withstand canada winter,you'll be fine..

many of us that grew up in Lagos, PH, Kano, port harcourt don’t know the road to our villages. Last time many of us went was for grandparents burial. Many villages in south western Nigeria are already looking deserted before japa wave started. Some of us have while in Nigeria didn’t see some of our relatives for year. What is even special in the ancestral roots ? Can you tell us the name of your ancestor in 1810? Canada is expensive but you will eat well , access health care and still have constant electricity. 10 litres petrol for generator is now 10k in Nigeria, full tank for car is over 60-80k . Nigeria is now harder than ever. Anyone that can japa should not even reason it twice.

immigration rules have changed since then. His wife went on student visa. Today its almost impossible to qualify. As for sponsorship jobs you cant get it easily, you can only get to Australia as a permanent residency or student or dependent of someone there. They wont give you visit visa.

a friend once applied for a uk visa from Canada before and only attached my PR card. Just explained the rest without putting evidence like bank statement, hotel booking etc and was given. The economic situation in Nigeria and our reputation over the years has made visa officers see Nigerians with travel history as potential japa that won’t come back.

australian immigration is mostly targeted at skilled occupation. Carer is not among unfortunately

I can never understand this, they make it very difficult for students, some of them highly educated and young and can quickly contribute to the economy bit rather take a refugee that can't speak English and keep them in hotels, paying them. they have been absorbing students into the PR and PNP streams. But currently there is unemployment, citizens and PR cant get jobs. Many students too cant find jobs. Election is next year and there has been a rise in anti immigration. They had to throw some people under the bus to save face. Exactly. They overdid it basically messing up all the positives. There are a lot of solid candidates around with world with 450-480 points but the sole fact that CEC candidates get more points from schooling in Canada and possessing work experience within Canada keeps them out.

How frequently are these trades draw ? Nothing is predictable with IRCC right now. The citizens are angry. Even recent PRs like me are also angry. In the past there was a threshold and a clear pathway which encouraged me to invest my money and my time. Today the liberal government has messed up the immigration system. The liberals like you pointed out overdid it in the end . in as much as they allowed us in . many recent immigrants who have acquired citizenship are ready to send them packing in the next elections.
