Hi everyone, I have a question; I guess our bosses @salford, @megastu, @ednut, among others will be able to draw from their experiences and share helpful insights.
So I was on a call with a friend who works as a Senior Business Analyst for a Big Pharma, and we were discussing about how attainable a salary threshold of 200kcad per annum is. I even whimsically chipped in the case of a family friend who works as a Director of Strategy for PWC and how I’m certain she earns way more than that. I was shocked when my statement was returned with a hysterical laughter and how that threshold is almost a pipe dream in Canada. Bottom line is he claimed people who earn that in Canada can be literally counted with your fingers and how he has never met anyone who earns that high in his 10-year career.

I’d like to ask if what he said is true; how attainable is the 200k salary threshold? All comments are welcome.

The Adamawa State government under Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, has budgeted the sum of N1billion to build his deputy’s lodge in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, findings from the budget reports have shown.

According to the document, under code 011100100200, the sum of N1 billion earmarked for the building of a deputy governor's lodge in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

This development comes amid calls for prudence in spending government finances.

Another sum of N800 million was earmarked for the renovation of deputy governor’s office in Yola and N500 million for furnishing new deputy governor’s office also in Yola.

In total the sum of N2.3 billion was budgeted for construction of deputy governor’s lodge in Abuja and renovation/furnishing of the deputy governor’s office in Yola.

While the state government plans to commit the sum to the deputy governor’s offices and lodge, it only budgeted N1.7 billion for provision of water facilities.

Provision of infrastructure for the state is N3.5 billion, just N1.2 billion above the amount planned for the construction of deputy governor’s lodge and renovation of his offices.

Rehabilitation and repairs of public schools is only planned to gulp N2.2 billion.

The capital expenditure budget for the ministry of water resources is only N1.6 billion, Primary Healthcare development agency is only N472million.

Adamawa is also highly indebted domestically to the tune of N103billion.

Adamawa State budget for its deputy governor also comes amid concerns on poor economic indices of Nigerian states including Adamawa with developmental issues such as access to healthcare, water among others.
