A member of the FIFA working committee, who pleaded anonymity because he has no power to talk on Nigeria’s crisis, has advised the Federal Government to arrest and prosecute corrupt Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) officials to serve as deterrent to other people who would want to use football to enrich themselves.

Guys and Gals, we need to get Sani Lulu and his bunch of inept officials out of the Glass House.  I believe the Presidency is using the ban to frustrate the current set of NFF officials out and bring in focused people. I believe in change and Nigeria is a country where government officials refuse to resign when they perform badly. I want the Nigerian Government to stand up to FIFA for once. Running a Football Federation is not rocket science!!! We are in a situation where the future of our football depends on getting the right set of administrators into the Glass House. The Presidency spends a lot of money on Football in the country, so it is natural that Goodluck Jonathan wants a change in the NFF's leadership. Nigerian Football is in tatters anyway, So FIFA's threat of a ban should not make us have sleepless nights. We need to restructure our footie and heads have to roll at the Glass House. I know the Presidency will lift the ban as soon as Sani Lulu, Bolaji Ojo-Oba and the set of failures resign their positions. This is the time for media houses in Nigeria to start a campaign for the change of leadership in the NFF. Cheers.

The Guardian gathered that the former NFF board, which was sacked on Wednesday by the Federal Government, held a closed door  meeting where they agreed to send Uchegbulam to South Africa to officially protest to FIFA. The board had described the sack as government interference in the running of football in the country.

A PKK spokesman in northern Iraq said a village house was destroyed in the raid, which lasted an hour and a half, but there were no casualties.

I'm sure you can find RELIABLE sources to back up your "40,000" figure. Or you don't have any? And how about the list of Kurdish settlements/population centres hit by the Turkish military in Northen Iraq during this recent military operation (and the casualty figure)? Nothing? 'thought as much.

By the way, you do know that that the PKK is listed as a terror group by the United States and tthe United Nations, right? And you do know that the Iraqis and American could stop all military incursions by the Turkish military? Now I wonder why they chose not to, hmmmmmmm,

Yeah this was after Somalia. You do recognize that the US were are a little more hesitant to join the same urban war where they could have the entire city turn against them. Did they have sufficent armour? Doubt they leave it sitting on warships. And there was no one to bail them out if something went wrong.
