I took the attached picture about a month ago when there was a very heavy downpour near tom-line, uselu. Something has to be down about the drainage system around the uselu axis. Furthermore, we also need to change our attitude towards waste disposal. People use up PET bottles and other non-biodegradables and then toss them out the windows of their vehicles and into these drainages unmindful of its environmental impact.

Family › Re: Good Secondary Schools In Benin: Your Recommendations. by Maross(op): 6:51am On Aug 06, 2016 |
Good morning all and thanks for all your suggestions so far. I have decided to consider all schools regardless of cost consideration and any prejudice as my daughter's education is paramount. For this reason, the under listed schools are up for consideration due to your suggestions and my little findings:
1. University preparatory secondary school (UPSS)-day only. 2. Word of faith group of schools (WOFGS)- day and boarding. 3. Presentation national high school- boarding and girls only. 4. Deeper life high school- boarding only and co-education. 5. St. Mary international- day only and co-education.
My preference would have been UPSS since my daughter is currently in the Montessori arm of the school but for some inexplicable reason, my wife does not like the secondary school. She prefers deeper life high school. I will keep up with my investigations with focus on past and present accolades, WAEC results, school fees, discipline etc. More suggestions are welcomed. |
Family › Re: Good Secondary Schools In Benin: Your Recommendations. by Maross(op): 10:32am On Aug 04, 2016 |
UPSS is day only. School fees for new entrants is about 120k to 160k. NL1960: What is their fees like and do they have both day and boarding?. |
Family › Re: Good Secondary Schools In Benin: Your Recommendations. by Maross(op): 6:13am On Aug 02, 2016 |
NL1960: Why not take a trip to Presentation and find out the fees and also if it is all boarding?. In addition, Catholic schools make a provision for a flexible payment plan. If i was in that Benin axis, my choices would have been Lumen Christi for Boys and Presentation National High for girls. Thanks. I just enquired and I can tell you categorically that for presentation, the fees plus other materials are well over 400k for fresh intakes. It is also an all boarding school(I don't really mind anyway but this factor is partly responsible for the high cost). I'd really love to send my daughter there but it is beyond me financially. So I am down to about two options: Word of faith and UPSS. I welcome more suggestions. |

Adaahjacob: WELL, I CAN ONLY SAY FOR ROCHAS... D DUDE WAS MADE EVEN B4 BN A GOVERNOR. I agree with you absolutely. But the pertinent question is how much was he worth shortly before he became the governor? I think public office holders should be made to declare their assets before taking up any post. The fact that all the politicians listed above are all in the APC may cast some doubts on the authenticity. Then again, why would the US make such a sensitive information public or was it a leak? Think about it? |

Maross: ...since diplomacy has failed to resolve this over time, I think the solution to the problem is simple: 1. Recall all Nigerian nationals in South Africa and send back their envoys. 2. Boycott all south African interests and start the process of nationalizing all south African owned business.
If we initiate the above two, other nations will follow (call it a gang up if you will) and the impact of the alienation will jolt the government into action.
In my own opinion, the south African government is not doing enough to protect foreigners.
How many Nigerians can afford three square meals a day? But you don't see us killing the Lebanese and Indians who casualize and enslave their workers! ...introspection: We should ask ourselves why we have a lot of Nigerians in south Africa ( and in diaspora)? The answer is obviously not far-fetched! There is obviously something wrong with Nigeria which we really need to deal with first! Do we even have the resources to deal with a recall? How about the socio-economic implications? Buhari has a lot of work cut out for him! |

brownlord: Yes, I have made lots of Muslim friends, infact my flat mate during my youth service was a Muslim, and I can tell I have no regret we stayed together.
But the fact is, he was a Muslim from kogi and stayed all his life in Lagos unlike the fanatics we have in the north.
You can blab all you want, there are some moderate Muslims who are not violent but you must agree all terrorist draw inspiration from this ungodly and evil religion called Islam I don't understand your logic. Firstly, you admitted that there are some moderate and non violent Muslims but you then concluded that Islam is evil. I don't think Islam is the problem but some practitioners are. Men have always killed in the name of religion (Christianity is not an exception). Men have always distorted the truth to justify "evil". |

Techwriter: if you guys are good at keeping a secret then let me tell you one: The reason Boko Haram activities seem to be on the rise under Buhari is deliberate and well planned. The idea is first to exonerate him from suspicion, then second is to add it to his achievement that he was the one that quelled the demons that Goodluck could not tame. So the bombings will continue for a while then he will speak to the leaders of Boko haram to release more almajiris to fight the soldier so it will appear there was a fight before the Nigerian military won under PMB. Why do you think the Vice President who happens to be a pastor is always locked out of such meetings? simple, He was used to deceive the undiscerning christian populace to vote APC.
Just watch the drama unfold, unfortunately many people will still not catch the trick even after this expo It just doesn't make sense at all. I mean why kill your own people just to advance your political ambition? How about the fact that boko haram is no longer a Nigerian problem but a sub regional menace? Many theories abound on the origin of boko haram but I think radicalization and indoctrination borne out of socio-economic challenges might also be a factor. |
