yes, lived in Rio and loved every bit of it, but just like any other country, it has its ups and downs.... and its not for everybody!

as much as there is a law against racism, and brazil being the county with the largest black population outside of Africa... this is a country where about 45% of the population is blacks (or mixed race), the wealth disparity between black and white is HUGE. you rarely see a black person in a position of power, in my 4yrs in Brazil i have NEVER seen a black person working behind the counter at the bank (only the security guards). Education is made in order for poor people (mostly blacks) to fail, court system is the same, great job in big cities like Sao Paulo and Rio will rather employ whites than blacks. without forgetting that Brazil is one hell of a corrupt country. but hey, dont take my word for it and instead, to give you an idea, here below is the picture of the new Brazil gov (minister etc)....how many black person can you count?!
