Many christians are saying that christianity is not religion but a relationship with god through the belief in the jewish carpenter and his death and resurrection. Well, people who say christianity is not a religion need the Oxford advanced learner's dictionary(OALD) or any good dictionary because I doubt if they know what the word religion means.

According to OLAD, religion means
1) the BELIEF in the EXISTENCE of a GOD or gods and the activities that are connected with the worship of them.
2) one of the systems of FAITH that is based in the BELIEF in the existence of a particular GOD or gods.
3) a particular interest or influence that is very important in your life.

Given those definition, we can say that christianity is a religion. Some sheeples will say that believing that Yahweh exists doesn't make you a christian that you must believe in their beloved Jewish carpenter as the son of god and that he died for the sins of the world and rose on the third day. Well didn't the bible make it clear that those that come to God must believe that HE IS and a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.

what frustration? Are you admitting that people get frustrated with god? Why did the thought of him frustrated come to your mind? I think it's usual that people get frustrated when prayer are not answered (as it should be). That's because religion is false. What made him frustrated could make you frustrated.

I hope you are not mocking him and his situation to vindicate your god? cos that is nasty. Even if he was frustrated, it goes to show that christianity and it's God is hocus pocus. If it were real, he wouldn't be frustrated.

Religion capitalises on coincidences. These christians subconsciously don't believe in miracles and healing. If they did, none will be seen in hospitals. The only time they are confident to process healing and miracles is only when in the realm of vagueness and imprecision.

Vagueness and imprecision in the sense that ask them when God will perform a certain miracle, they say they don't know that you should be PATIENT, leave it for God and that God's time, which no one knows, is the best. Ask them how God will do it, they say that they don't know either that how he will do it, they don't know but he will do it.

It is easier to tell a crowd of 20,000 people that there is someone among them who has a disease and will be healed this very moment than to walk up to a single and tell him that he will be healed this very moment. As long as there is vagueness and imprecision, people will profess miracles and healing.

Vagueness and extreme imprecision is an escape from the impossibility of admitting Jesus, miracles and healing can't be made to happen.

Realising that prayers can't work, pastors create a psychological world were prayers seem to be working. This is the world of spirit spouse, failure at the edge of breakthrough, witchcraft attack etc. They play the psychological tricks. This same prayers can't cure cancer, hiv or restore amputees but it seems effective against spirit spouse and other made up bullshit.

The idea of a spiritual spouse is false. It's a psychological thing. If you are afraid of spiritual spouses, you think seeing them in dreams means disaster of some sort and you so much dread them, you will see them in your dream. If you realise that they don't exist, and your mind is at peace. You won't see them again. I am a living witness.

Religion is a facade of reality.

The religious heaven and hell are men's construct. The purpose of hell is to keep the sheeples from leaving their religion. If you think about it, you did see that hell makes no sense. The idea of hell and a loving God are two twines that can never meet.

How can one post contain do many misconceptions about atheism from someone who claims to be a former atheist?

It seriously bugs me when people criticize others for trying to hold beliefs that are backed up by evidence. When was the last time a technological breakthrough was made through supernatural means rather than rigorous scientific research? When was the last time that a scientific explanation of a phenomenon was replaced by a supernatural one? Why is it always the other round?

I get if you don't want to be an atheist or if you dislike atheism but claiming that atheism is dogmatic is a straight up lie and a gross misunderstanding of atheism which is worrying, considering the fact that you were once one.

Gbam. They foolishly try to make a belief in religious gods look okay by pointing the flaws of beliefs and ideologies that doesn't embrace their god. The supposed flaws are not flaws at all.

OP, so what's your point? Even if atheism is a tool for controlling people, does it make the deceptive control of people by religion a good thing? I know that atheism is not a mind control tool only ignorance of what atheism is will make you say the opposite.

When you argue with muslim apologists, they try to point out the crusades by christians, the burning of people on stakes by the catholic church and other atrocities in the old testament by god as if all this makes islamic terrorism and violence justified. The absurdity of other religions and beliefs does not vindicate the absurdity of your own belief. If your belief is a lie and threatens the life of others, your belief ought to be done away with.

When God can't heal, we do the needful and give the credit to God.

I have come to realise that the world we live in is filled with lies and deception. Humans made it so. Humans love to lie about everything and it seems that they will always seize the opportunity to deceive the masses. They do this for their own profit, to get attention, to look wise, to sound mysterious and to be a step above others. The sad thing is that everyone must, at a point in time, fallen for such lies and deception.

The deception and lies include religion, politics and supernatural or mystical stuffs. A man has a near death experience, he tells what he saw. When some people see that the man's near death experience is captivating a lot of people and everyone is listening to it, they will start inventing lies about the near death experience they supposedly had in order to sell their books, attract people, be seen as special and make money. A lot of people will then follow in telling lies too. These lies will saturate our world and people will take them as truth.

Religions of different cultures as we all know where forged by men. The greatest deceptive masterpiece is the bible. Religion has filled our world with lies and deception as to what reality is. The sad truth is that many buy this deception and children are hopelessly falling for it thanks to their dump parents. Religion is so ingrained in our world that people are shocked and disheartened when they discover these lies. I was shocked and sad when I discovered all these stuff where fake.

Some even go about making up false stories to keep people in their religion. Talk about stories of people going to hell, stories of people saying that god told them that Jesus is coming soon, muslims lying for the sake of Allah and Islam. The fact that you have to lie to propagate your religion tells a lot about the truthfulness of your religion. Science that is true, needs no lie to be propagated. That is the confidence of truth. On this forum, a man on this forum told a story on how Jesus appeared to him and healed him and at the end of his story, his left his phone number and the name of his ministry. his motives are simple to decode.

Even in politics and media, we can't be sure of what we read because the government can manipulate the media for their own purposes. This is especially the case with top countries. You can be sure they always have one hidden motive or another which is covered up in the media. Talk about new age teachings which are lies. The ideas of dimensions and matrix is all nonsense.

What she did is not right it's even good that she's in that position of helping out so she can see the kind of pressure her husband goes through on a daily basis.
