How can someone who was raised in a struggling home filled with poverty want to quickly rush and bring in kids to experience the same suffering they went through

What's the point of having 7 kids at the age of 50 and the best yoh can offer them is public schools of #2000 school fees, is it not better to have 2 kids at 50 and provide quality education and upbringing to that kid, is it not better for both you and society

We keep producing prospective issues for the society, touts, thiefs, prostitutes, just name it, someone who doesn't even have sufficient to financial backing to withstand multiple emergencies will be pressured into marriage and it will be hailed as an accomplishment, and 20yrs from now, we'll want whoever is the president to turn nigeria to usa overnight

Why do countries like China now have their govt enforcing a population cap by legally allowing only one kid per household, despite being so better off than us in all aspects, yet as poor as we are as a country we keep pressuring our young ones to keep marrying and producing babies

The president of united States has only two kids, daughters for that matter, I have never heard any outrage from his countrymen, imagine if this was a nigerian.

This is how most of my friends who bowed to society pressure and entered the eternal rat race in the name of marriage and kids keep asking for financial help every now and then, and next thing you'll see a post on fb with them and the kids saying how God is doing it and they're so happy, the ones who are not yet into it will be fooled.

Whilst reading the book of Deuteronomy which is one of the many books in the Bible, I stumbled upon something which left my jaw opened for a great while. In Duet. 34 from verse 7 to the last verse, the writer wrote about his own death and even talked about what happened afterwards. How could he had known what happened?!

I'm beginning to think if the most revered book is anyway better than Shakespearean and J.K Rowling's books.

Alot of things can make one contemplate suicide during the course of his/her life, without proper counseling such as rejection, terminal illnesses, prolonged/repeated frustration or failure, poverty etc. that lady must have experienced one of the aforementioned.

So don't say she doesn't value her life, everyone values his/her life. The extreme pain/frustration attached to the transition between life and death is enough to scare anyone away from committing suicide. And that is what is still keeping alot of people alive.

you never know it you will succeed until try. The chances of succeeding with a shop is high if there is common sense from the wife and assistance from the husband. I rest my case.

I have taken time to read all your wonderful comments, even though some are very insulting. For crying out loud, why will come online to discuss my family if I don't need a solution? I said in my post that my wife deliberately takes in anytime I remind her of what to do to assist in the family. Some of you are asking if I'm not the person doing it and why don't I use condom. For your information, my wife is the type that does not like her husband using condom on her. In fact, the day she saw condom in the house, she went to our pastor to report me that I'm using it outside. Her reasoning is that anybody with a condom is an "ashawo". On the other issue, it's not as if I never noticed her academic backwardness during our courtshithough my thought was that she will improve beside, she had over 2years extra for a course of 4years and by then we are already married. if your wife can't do it with condom, then she(not you) must find a way to do it such that she will not take in. Simple as that. Failure is either no sex or abortion straight up (fear am small ).

The solution here is to recognize the limitations of your wife abilities and let her work within it. She is unintelligent? fine, don't push her to withstand academic stress that she is not interested in and able to cope with intellectually. I believe she can do something great within her capacity and be of good help to the family. Don't always try to have things your way.

The fact that she wants to open a shop shows you that she wants to be productive. Your job is to support her with what she needs. She must not have learnt under somebody. Opening a shop is not rocket science. Please stop expecting her to be the super smart and sophisticated mom who can speak good English and do your children's homework. If you want her dressing to change, talk to her about it one on one and hear what she thinks about it. You can go out of your way to buy cloths for her and get rid of the old ones gradually. You are yet to complain about any character flaw like her being disrespectful, insultive, wayward e.t.c I think that is good news. I think your wife loves you or doesn't she? If she loves you then that's good news. You can hardly find such ladies without these flaws. Love is the most important thing.
