I know of a man that trained five kids with other people's money. He never helped others, but sought help from others. Is that one a friend that should be kept?


The way some people are yapping here, you would think they are all still friends with their 'day 1 niggas'.......i dare to say, nobody here is still friends with everyone they hung out with when they were kids. I had a friend way back who we did everything together. But during those days, i put in seriuos hustle. I did lots of stuff on the side and made several sacrifices.

Things are way better for me today but this my friend is still living in the past. Nothing much has changed for him

Now, that is not necessarily a problem, BUT all his responsibilities is now on MY HEAD! He asks for everything from his children's school fees to his house rent. This went on for years. This guy has 3 kids already and i am not even married!

At a point i got tired and just deleted his number and stopped responding to him.

I am not siding with Yemi Alade or whatever, but i am just trying to say that there are certain people you should drop along the way because they will hold you back!

You should stop giving that friend money and tell him "no" when he asks for money. If he doesn't want to hear "no", cut that friend off as fast as possible. People who know they don't have money and still marry and have children should not be pitied. They are mumu. Worse is when they start begging "upandan" for money to pay the bills and constituting liability to people .

How did the person I mentioned know that the guy was not supportive? I and the person I mentioned both assumed that the story is true. Whether the story is true or not, the person I mentioned gave the impression that it's alright to drop your supportive friends once you become better than them and I called her out on that. Truth is, people who defend bad deeds are likely to be guilty of such bad deeds.

It's possible that the guy could have been toxic and might have wanted to exploit her. Anyways, who all have to be careful of who we trust and I admit that there are friends that warrant such treatment.

Funny enough, I disagree that "People should have the right". That statement is just odd since it implies a right someone has to give to one as opposed to a right one already has. More importantly though, the issue raises uglies where assisted life ending is concerned.

Assisted life ending, or assisted dying, as it's called, is when a person is so incapable of ending their life that they need help. It is illegal in UK so some people go off to Sweden for it. The problem with it is that the vulnerable could be killed off and the killer says they were asked to. The few instances where a partner has gone to Sweden to assist however, they have not been prosecuted on return.

On a personal note, ma, who is so active, is so afraid of pain and being in a vegetative state that years ago she asked me to help her die if she ever got in that state. I strongly informed her that she better do what she has to do before she can't kill herself. I, buda, would find it difficult to go on living knowing I killed ma!

Pa, on the other hand, having had enough at close to a hundred managed to check out all by himself. I was with him his last two years which kept him alive longer than otherwise, but as soon as I returned to UK and he knew I was not returning soon, he refused food and checked out. He was very practical about it and I knew he would so I never told him I was coming back to UK. But I was ill at the time, paralysed waist down, wasting away and trying to ensure I wasn't checked out myself! Pa, knowing him, would say he was sacrificing his life for mine.

It depends sha, though it's true that intelligent and more matured minds have a better grasp of life and know that all is ultimately pointless and vanity. When our earth eventually collapses into the sun, what will be use of all of human endeavours?

In developed society with great but "immature" minds, there is a high pressure to succeed academically and get the good life. Maybe that's what mainly contributes to suicide. I stand to be corrected.

People should have the right to end their life whether they have a good reason to or not. It's their life.

To digress a little, I did like to say that not all people who commit suicide or attempt to are "screwed" in the head. A normal person with no disorder of any form and with a sound mind can still commit suicide. It happens that there are people who prefer quality of life over it's longevity.
