Hashabiah: God's emphasis is on moderation. But those who want to truly commit themselves to knowing God will avoid any manner of drink. Just the way the sons Jonadab the son of Rechab, commanded his children not to drink wine (Jeremiah 35:6) This guy has sense. I won't be surprised if you made A1 parallel in your exams. You know how to answer questions in a very precise manner. |

That name "Baby mama" is the most degrading name for a woman in this day and age. Many of them will get use to it soon. |

JovialJune: In Nigeria, men are kings because the law favours you all, In the abroad, equality is king, and our women use it to their advantage.
The problem you guys have with wives from naija who went to the abroad is your failure to lord over her as it was in naija, y'all still want a lady of servitude who will abide by your rules and wishes cos of what you're used to forgetting obodo oyibo nor send you
It's simple, when you bring your wife over there, just know it is no longer a master slave norm but an equality, relinquish your right as being the head, you'll live your life peacefully,
I have peeps over there, and they're doing just fine. I shake my head for you. |

madridguy: Oga Falz, if you get opportunity to read my comment please na beg I dey beg you let suspend every protest for now. Our collective voice has been heard by the FG and the international community.
It is obvious the protest has been successful hijacked by hoodlums and terrorist. I blame the government for not providing adequate security back up for the protesters.
The protest now has successfully turned to tribal war between the Yorubas and Hausa in Fagba area of Lagos which has claimed many lives and properties. We are praying now not to have Yorubas and Igbo fight because many people have been saying why didn't the Igbo burn any house in the east and even when the pictures surfaces online the Yorubas are not satisfied because no attack on the palace of Obi of Onitcha or any king.
Young lives and dreams has been cut off and many families will never recover from this while some will bounce back if God Willing.
Yesterday while the attack on Ojodu police station was ongoing, shops close to the police station were looted and someone share a video about a woman crying " Please leave my market, I collected LAPO money to stock my shop. The woman was crying, she couldn't come close to the hoodlums and only God know the woman health condition now.
Falz, abeg reason we wey we no get passport photograph not to talk of International Passport, nor visa to run comot.
Let End Protest and make peace.
God Bless Nigeria
Eko O ni Baje You speak with so much wisdom and empathy. It's very unfortunate that we have to succumb to the hardship the government has put the nation into. Yeah. Let's end the protest and move on. One day, when we have the resources, we should leave this country. |

myBraine: He's only following the bandwagon and nothing more. Jack is a smart businessman that's playing a dicey game with the collective sanity of lazy protesters.
The more the hashTag trends on Twitter, the more relevant the platform becomes in Nigeria and the more valuable it becomes in the global market. Let's keep making a fool out of ourselves while thinking that in this challenging and competitive world where trade and tech war has become the order of the day, a foreign nation will want an Africa country to outdo them in Democracy and good governance. Don't you know that once we have good and stable governance, we'll start thinking of advancing our technological feat and reach. No foreign nation currently conceives the idea or possibility of an African empire. Imagine a country like Nigeria now building hypersonic missiles, DEW, nuclear propeller and warheads? That's a bigger threat to world peace and I'm in no way in support of that.
The truth is that Nigerian youths are growing wings and they have to be cautioned on time, unless we'll have to bear the burden of living with limited access to the internet and little or no access to other internet services like the world wide web and Co.
We'll only ended up pioneering a new generation where smartphones and computers will become irrelevants. In a tech world that's currently moving towards IoT where all our electronics will become an integral part of a smart environment, which will later give rise into a smart economy. A computer OR a smartphone without the internet is nothing but an electronic idiot. We should stop the protest now so that our kids will not live to become a victim of our weird and destructive invention.
The protest is gradually snowballing into an economic missiles and it needs to be stopped. Did u notice something while writing this? Did u notice ur display of stupidity and ignorance? |

mars123: yes I knew a worthless e-hypocrite will find my trouble. If I just stepped into Nigeria today I wouldn't know that not even up to year ago a gender equality bill was thrown into the dustbin because it was unpopular with almost 99% Nigerian men both in government and outside government. Now this maggot is questioning my reasoning, me that was among the silenced 1%? what changed in a year? why are Nigerians fighting for their women now? because of the hatred for Buhari. I just look at where Nigerians are heading I don't know. People that know what is right keep doing what is wrong. failed people. and you people will keep failing because change is faraway people like this make me believe emphatically that Nigeria has a future. Your reasoning is spot on. back to the topic, Nigerians are just bunch of pretenders and conformists. how many of you people can accord your wives as much respect as Buhari has for his wife? I see nothing offensive from what Buhari said and this is my ONE good reason: A woman's primary home is the kitchen, bedroom and home management every other role(s) is only secondary. Buhari only uttered this true statement in a wrong place. |

my only advice/suggestion is this:
kindly re-phrase the subject of this mail to '"your ADVICE is needed" The word 'advise' is a verb e.g. I advised him last night or I will advise him on the issue. While the word 'advice' is a noun...e.g my advice for you is to advise him on his marital issue. |
Education › English Usage And Common Errors by martinsad(op): 6:08pm On Aug 30, 2016 |
Hello fellow nairalander, the purpose of this thread is to carefully look at certain associated errors of our use of English and at the same time educate you all on how best we can communicate in the least possible ways without any default to the English grammar. Also, bearing in mind that this is going to be a weekly clinic.
Topic 1: Pronoun: Yes Pronoun. I'm sure we all know it and it will also surprise you all that many of us still commit some avoidable errors on pronouns.
Pronouns they say is a word class that can be used in the place or instead of a noun. However, we should also bear in mind that a pronoun must at all time agree with its antecedent (I.e the noun that it refers to) in number, gender, person and case.
Common Errors 1. Using reflexive pronouns instead of reciprocal pronouns. a reflexive pronoun is a kind of pronoun that indicates that the person or thing being referred to acts on himself/herself/itself. Example of which includes: himself, herself, itself, themselves, ourselves etc. e.g Kunle blamed himself for failing the entrance exam while a reciprocal pronoun is used to show a two-way relationship e.g one another & each other Kunle and bimpe blamed each other (meaning that Kunle blamed Bimpe while Bimpe also blamed him) Having said that, now look at this sentence: Jamiu and his wife have not been talking to themselves...(wrong) Jamiu and his wife have not been talking to each other(correct)
2. Using the contracted form 'it's' in the place of 'its' now look at this sentence: the rat lost it's legs to the trap (wrong) the rat lost its legs to the trap (correct) While 'it's' simply means 'it is' or 'it has', but 'its' is a possessive pronoun used for neuter gender
Ok. today's class is just to welcome us all on board to this 'scintillating' English clinic. more to come in the next thread. For any enquiries, you can check my profile to get my email address amd be sure to have your questions well attended to (not charge attached) God bless. |

mizzbouqui: Sis I've been in a relationship where we didn't had sex But I could tell that can satisfy me in bed (I won't share that) I just want you to know that, a man satisfying his woman on bed is not all about sex seriously, this, to me is the only and d only flaw to this write-up! THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO KNOW IF SOMEONE IS GOOD IN BED UNLESS YOU GO TO BED WITH SUCH PERSON! |
