Ekiti state is my state and know what happens there. If ogun state can pay up to january i see no reason why this noise maker governor can not pay. Rather he will gate crashing on marriage ceremony that he was neva invited, always making ridiculous statements against pmb in the media. No projects. Nothing. What a ridiculous governor? You are very very wrong. Not all states are owning salaries. Ogun state collects about 2billion naira monthly from fed govt just like ekiti state. Ogun state has 7billion naira salary payment every month yet the state has paid his workers january salary. Fayose is a schemer and pretender. If u know him very well u will not be surprised. He did not pay workers since november and he has been displaying stupidity against fg. Just wait and see what lies ahead of him from ekiti people.

But on a more serious note....the problem is happening in all states. And pretty soon governors are going to make the hard choice the Federal govt is making...increase taxes, and diversify revenue streams....fast.

Or they may have to do what Bisi Akande did in 1999-2003...and sack excess civil servants. (That is not going to happen because that costs votes).

In my opinion,all that Fayose has to do is to eat that frog....and raise taxes, and collect more taxes. He also has to make some foreign trips to get some foreign investors to set up factories in Ekiti on build, operate and transfer basis. Maybe even give interest free loans to SME entrepreneurs to set up businesses....and also to spend more on techincal education.

But Fayose has to be realistic.....and tell the people of Ekiti that there is no money, and that everyone has to tighten his seatbelts (He could also get pastors and imams to pray for oil to get back up to $136 per barrel....but that is going to be complicated much. )

And many states need to do the same thing. Money no dey.
