It has been passed through generations,
various customs and traditions have
intereped and deseminated it in various
ways…..Everyone or should I just say
every man has this notion deep within
them…Women are complex….difficult to
please and impossible to understand.
References are often made about how
difficult it is to understand what’s on a
woman’s mind. This may be true when it
come to deciding what clothes to wear for
an event or when deciding which
prospective suitor to pick. But when it
comes to relationship(one they are happy
in),it pretty simple…. they want
commitment…assurance that they are not just
some play tool or another trophy to show
off to the boys.....Unfortunately there is trend I have noticed about our young men these days....they seem to be more committed when chasing a girl than they are once in the relationship.
Men…especially the
younger ones seem to throw in more effort
at ‘getting’ the girl than they do once they
get her.
Its like all the seriousness and love
dries up the movement they
eventually get into the relationship and the
poor girl is left bemused at what might
have gone wrong with her sweet charming
prince. Often times the girl is left frustrated
and hurt some other time she sticks on and
attempts to resurrect the prince charming
she fell in love with. .
So, how do you tell if the man is truly
serious about you? Fortunately, there are
certain signs that could be used to decode
the man’s behavior. .
1. NO GAMES
Now if a guy is serious and see a future
in the relationship with you, he doesn’t
play games. When he makes plans with
you for the weekend, he sticks to them.
He doesn’t torment you by saying one
thing and doing something else. He’s not
cold one instant and warm and
affectionate the other. If your man
makes a special effort to be honest and
open, that’s a sign of his commitment to
the relationship. When a man plays mind
games, it’s typically because he doesn’t
really care, or because the relationship is

2. HE WANTS TO KNOW THINGS
ABOUT YOU
A guy who is serious about you-will
definitely want to know things about
you…He’ll asks you questions about
your childhood, your job, parents, etc.
He is genuinely concerned about your
career and asks you about your plans.

3. HE CALLS JUST TO HEAR YOUR
VOICE
If your guy really cares about you, your
voice will sound like sweet music to
him…..he’ll want to hear your voice
always…He’ll call you sometimes for no
reason. Even if you’ve met not too long
ago, he’ll call you after he reaches
home, just to make sure you got home
safe. This behaviour is typically
displayed in the first few weeks of the
relationship, when everything is new and
exciting. However, when you realize that
he still calls you just to hear your voice
and it’s been about a year since you
started going out, you should know that
he’s serious about you. .
4. IF HE IS ALWAYS PUNCTUAL.
If he’s always punctual, he’s definitely
into you. When a man is serious about
his girlfriend, he will ensure that she
doesn’t have to wait for an hour at the
bus stop.
He says he will pick you up for dinner
and 8 p.m. and calls around 7.55 p.m. to
tell you he’s stuck in traffic and will be
15 minutes late, he’s respectful of your
feelings. He won’t ever have you hanging
around the park for half an hour before
he shows up. Most girls constantly find
themselves waiting for their boyfriend’s
phone call, or for him to pick them up. If
you find yourself one that is punctual
and respectful to your feelings…that one
is a keeper. .
5. HE LISTENS WHEN YOU TALK
Think this is just cliche?…..Nope it’s
entirely true……It take true love for a
normal guy(especially the younger ones)
to listen to what girls what to say.
If you boyfriend really listens to you and
not just passive listening if he gives his
full attention to you each time you’re
sharing something with him, he really
listens to you…..You have long chats on
the phone and he hangs on to every word
you say…..Jackpot babe…the dude is
damn serious about you…hold on to that

6. WHEN HE WANTS TO DATE YOU

Ever had a guy that suggests you have an
open relationship?…..If you’re still with
him then you need your head

seriousness and un- commitment.

everyone knows it. He is faithful and
expects fidelity from you too. He makes

I not particularly afraid for me or what they could do to me. I’m afraid of what effect their act would have on my mom.
I’m the only son of widowed mother, I
barely know my father as he died when I
was about six years old from a motor
accident (he was a driver). I am my mon’s only hope she has given up almost
everything to see me go to school, my
mom has starved countless times just for
me to eat, she has washed and swept for
other woman like herself just to ensure I
have good education….For all her effort
and the humiliation she has to go through everyday, I made it my life goal to reward her with good performance in school.
Primary and secondary education was great. I represented my schools in several inter-school debates and quiz competition...Afterwards I gained admission to study engineering at the university and somehow with lots of effort and contribution from the church I was able to get in…(I can’t give out the name of the school coz I don’t know who is reading but its a Federal school in the southern part of Nigeria).
My first year in school was okay am not
the most friendly person but I didn’t have
some friend….I was exceptionally shy
around girls…You won’t blame me all
through secondary school I never had a girl friend even though there where some girls I did like. I always thought of relationships as a distraction and I didn’t want that. So things went just fine and I was glad. My second and third year in school was great too…..But towards the end of my third year, things took a different turn when I laid eyes on her….Even as I write I remember vividly that evening at June 12(if u’re in my school, you’ll know June 12) I went to get Meshia, that was supposed to be my dinner…I just got back from class and wasn’t really feeling like cooking. That
was where I met Jindu….She was waiting
for the meshia man to finish preparing hers when I got to the table…..she was every inch perfect, tall slim, great body, lovely eyes and awesome smile…. I just awe staring at her, when our eyes met, I
nervously looked away, my heart was
racing……There and then I wished I knew how to toast a girl….but I didn’t I was so nervous just standing next to her,my hands were shaky and my voice became very low…She didn’t seem to notice me..she was so busy chatting with her friend….The meshia guy finished hers and she handed him a thousand naira note….the guy refused to collect the money insisting he didn’t have change. He turned to me and asked my guy how far….Two eggs I said and he immediately start preparing mine I
was still stealing glance at her as she and her friend tried to get change to pay for the meshia….when d guy finished preparing my meshia I handed him a thousand naira note before he could say a word I told him I was paying for three…..(A voice inside my head screamed….are you mad?) I knew
I was setting myself up for a hungry week but I didn’t seem to care I just wanted to help her…she and her friend thanked me and for some reason they didn’t immediately walk away, they stood and waited till I collected my change which was 150 naira. We got talking(that’s when I got their names her friend was Obehi while she is Chijindu–or Jindu is a later started calling her) and I even walked them to the enterance of their hostel gate before moving back to mine.
I never asked for her number, not that I
didn’t want but I was too afriad to ask plus I figured she would probably never date me….she was just too good for me. So I went back to my hostel room and planned on how to survive for the week since I just threw away 1000 naira(technically).
As fate would have it, some months later, I ran into her again, this time it was in front of the library I had just stepped out of the library and she appeared to be coming from the library extension, we greeted and somehow I was courageous enough to ask for her phone number and she oblige…She did inform me that she had moved from the hostel and was now staying outside school….cool I thought.
we got calling and texting and before you
knew it, we fall in love (well, I was already in love with her from the first day I saw her). We studied together despite being in different faculties and we hid nothing from each other. I told her about my humble back-ground and how I starved myself after paying for her meshia that night, she was touched and felt it was very romantic…… We continued on our love path and seemed
like destiny favored us….However things
soon got very ugly……This new phase
started with a phone calll. Some guy had
called me sounding very pissed warning
me to take my hands if his girl stating that if he ever saw me with her he was going to chop off my hands….I told Jindu but she said it was probably one of those guys hitting on her…. I was aware other guys even rich ones with flashy cars wanted her but I didn’t bother me much she loved me and I could see it in her eyes so I didn’t bother. But the calls got more rampant and the threat even bigger sometimes it was ending my life or I won’t graduate from school.
Since nobody was doing anything I thought they were just bluffing…. I didn’t know they were watching me, keeping note of my every move until when I slipped. One sunday evening I went to see Jindu at her place and after hours with her I was heading back to the hostel when some guys ambushed me…it was around 8:30P.M everywhere was getting dark…they came on me like bees each slapping me in turn before I could fight I was down they forcefuly gagged me and took me away…..I knew what was goign on…everything was clear now…the calls and threats were real…when they got
somewhere far from ‘civilization’ they
dropped me to the ground.
There was smoke and smell of weed
everywhere and guys all had distinctive

A white-headed crocodile nicknamed
'Michael Jackson' (Seriously- they couldn't think of any other name? This is a disrespect to the King of Pop)has been shot dead, after the predator apparently killed a fisherman in Australia's north.

Authorities were called in when a 57-year-old man disappeared after wading into the croc-infested Adelaide River to disentangle his fishing line late
on Monday.

Police said the man's wife was with him on the river bank but did not see the moment the animal, believed to be 4.5m long, attacked.

"The initial information is that she did not see him taken but [heard] a scream and then turned around and saw a tail splashing in the water,"

Police later recovered a body, believed to be the victim, from the water.

The man body was discovered about 60km from Darwin, close to a popular spot where tourist boats go to see crocodiles which leap out of the
water to take food dangled on long poles.

"If it is Michael Jackson it'd be a very sad event," Adelaide River Queen Cruises owner Tony Blums told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation of
the well-known animal.

"He's a unique half-albino. He's a very nice crocodile." Blums said there was about one crocodile for every 100m of river, and Michael Jackson would
have been "just below the water" before he attacked.

Fellow tour operator Rob Marchand, owner of Wallaroo Tours, said crocodiles had been in that part of the river for years and had been fighting a lot recently in the lead up to the breeding season.

Crocodiles are common in Australia's tropical north. Their numbers have increased steadily since the introduction of protection laws in 1971, with government estimates putting the population at 75 000-100 000.

Earlier this month a 22-year-old man disappeared near a beach in the Northern Territory's northern Melville Island and is feared to have been taken by a crocodile. Just weeks earlier in June, a 62-year-old man was snatched from his boat by a crocodile in front of
terrified relatives in Kakadu national park, also in the Northern Territory.

In January a 12-year-old boy was killed by a crocodile in the same park.
