the few people that managed to buy the highly priced Tecno Phantom 5 at N70,000 are already selling them off.

If you doubt, I will show you more than 3 persons that have placed theirs up for sale

And my question now is why are people selling their Tecno Phantom 5?

Please I really need an answer to that cos it is bothering me especially knowing that this phone was launched not long ago

I was sitting with one elderly man last night, we were both listening to a radio program (Nkan mbe!) on his small Nokia phone, but the frequency was not that clear. He started waving the phone left and right to get a strong signal. While he was doing all that, I had my phone inside my pocket.

Suddenly, it occurred to me that I have a smartphone for goodness sake, and surely it must have a radio function (have never make use of it since I bought my phone months ago). So I brought out my phone, switched on the radio, put it in a loudspeaker and we enjoyed the program...

The question is, "When was the last time you make use of the radio app on your smartphone?"

Stop insulting Samsung devices sir. It is really wrong to compare phantom 5 with flagship Samsung phone.

I have nothing against phantom 5, it is a nice phone. A nice 45-50k phone.

Nobody that knows the value of money will spend anything above 50K on that phone when we have other better 50K snapdragon phones out there.

It is really a wasteful spending.

And OP, if you really expect a 3GB Mediatek phone to lag in the first week or month of use then you are making a mistake.

All mediatek devices perform well at first but for how long?

Karmanaut please don't argue with the op, it is either he's paid of he's using a high-end smart phone for the first time.

Nobody is doubting the capability of Phantom 5, after all it has a 3gb ram 2.0ghz Octa-core 64bit so basically it's an excellent device but the the bottom line here is that it is overpriced simple! There are many Chinese phones with world wide recognition while Tecno is still unknown outside Africa, those Chinese companies offer better specs and performance yet below 50k. If Tecno wants to go premium like samsung, Sony, apple etc issokay but this is not the right way and certainly not the right time.

Where is the innovation? What has Tecno done that others aren't doing. Infinix released a 5-inch 16GB infinix hot smartphone at a starting price of 13k before demand pushed it up. None!! ... not even tecno has dared that phone. They never made noise about innovation.


They went ahead to release an android one 2GB RAM phone for 19k.Till today unrivaled and they made no noise.


Now Gionee has released a 4000mah 4G LTE,OTG,OTA smartphone sold cheap for 16k.

Tecno is coming up and we are trying to cheer them and you as one of their marketers are here to spite.


Let them sell the phone N20,000 or however they wish & that's if people don't ignore them. Another daring OEM will still rise and make a similar phone and sell it for 12k to your chagrin.

I helped someone Purchase the M3 some weeks back, and it was 27K.
I'm guessing the price of the M5 should be about 38K.
So, its still very affordable for its Specs.
