Literature / THE AGONY... A Story And Motivational Write Up By Mary Temitope by marytemitope(f): 11:46am On Jan 31, 2019 |
At first,I thought I was going to end my life wandering
about the streets in Lagos. I’d thought living my life would
finally come to an end perhaps,I might one day get knocked
down by a moving vehicle or beaten to death or accused, or
maybe rot in the prison with anybody to ask or rescue me.
My life has no meaning to me. My life has no importance to
around me or maybe I’m the who’s got the mentality of
no one taking any importance about my life.
Never in my life have I thought of living a happy life because
I’d never been a happy one ever since the incident
happened….
I’m only a young girl of thirteen even though I was just
ten when my beloved family left me to the great beyond. All
I thought was dream. Everything seemed like I was in the
dream Land.
I’m so happy I lived to share my pasts and presents.
I’ve wished Evey time that I could live to tell my story, and
my wish has finally come true! Who hasn’t been through
anything should always be up and grateful. Your present
situation is another person’s everyday prayer point.

Literature / Depression By Mary Temitope by marytemitope(f): 2:19pm On Jan 28, 2019 |
Having a male child used to be the priority of every man in the small and successful ILUTEDO village where I grew up. Every man wished to have a male child,if not all his children at least a male child. Each male child are taken with high level of respect and dignity. The eagerness of an expectant mother and father used to be very high with the expectations of a male child. A man would be in fear till his expectant wife is being delivered of a baby. The anxiousness to check whether she had a male or female child was always present. But amidst all these, a lot of sadden incidents occurred. My Mum once told me that the head of the village almost committed suicide once when he discovered that his precious wife was delivered of a bouncing baby girl again, the seventh born. Young girls were treated as an outcast in respect of the male children. They were taken advantage of irrespective of their status. No education, no learning,no vocational training. Meanwhile the male children got all these. My father was the village youth leader. The same pressure was on my mother. Being the head of all youths in the village,my father was given so much respects. He was accorded with so much regards. Meanwhile I have a female elder one. And my Mum was an expectant mother. She had all her hopes, spirits up in the airs. She had all her spirits high placed on her soul. She told me once she discovered I was going to be a female child, the first thought which came across her mind was to go to the stream and jump into it. But she had the going back spirit which kept stopping her. Getting back home to realized my father had https://temiconnect./2019/01/27/depression-a-motivational-article-by-mary-temitope/ |
Literature / Depression A Motivational Write Up By Mary Temitope by marytemitope(f): 8:38pm On Jan 16, 2019 |
When I was young I could hardly waited for my Dad to come home from work in the evening, I’d sit on that porch of our house watching until I’d see striding down that alley toward our house. Then I’d run and leap into his arms. He would swing me up into the air and carry me into the house, laughing and talking with me as we went. By the time I was school age,I know my father was spending less time with us,but I thought we has a happy family. Our family started to fall apart when my father doubled his home. Things started to fall apart. Things changed the other way round for my mother and my elder brother. Things changed from from what they used to be. My mother:she loved, she hated, she hurt and got hurt, but most importantly she sacrificed! From good to bad. From bad to worst From worse to worse, and finally….. DEPRESSION CAME IN! We’ve got issues to discuss as far as Depression concerned . We need to start paying attention to issues that kill is everyday: we need to examine the contributing factors of suicide rates in our beloved country. People give up on life on a daily basis because they couldn’t push anymore. Poverty level and society pressure of what to expect from an individual is compounding the problem at hands ,our Government isn’t helping either. The Great Depression, like most other periods of severe unemployment, was produced by government mismanagement rather than by any inherent instability of the private economy. We can’t all fold our arms and let depression and anxiety rule our world. A story needs to be told, words need to be shared, and solutions need to be provided. The cause of depression are not fully understood but we do know that a combination or psychological, social, genetic, and biological factors can contribute to its development . If you don’t think your anxiety, depression, sadness and stress impact your physical health, think again. All of these emotions trigger chemical reactions in your body, which can lead to inflammation and a weakened immune system . Depression is a serious mental illness that involves the brain. It’s more than just a feeling better of being “ down in the dumps” or” blue” For a few days. A big part of depression is feeling really lonely, even if you’re in a room full of a million people. The feelings do not go away ,it persist and interfere with your everyday life and its trick is to lure you by charming your life . Depression is the leading global disability and we understand how cruel this life could be,but it is what it is,don’t allow depression take over your existence. Talk to someone today and activate you happy mood. Stay tuned ,connected, and updated . read more at https://temiconnect./2019/01/16/depression/ 1 Like
