dumprep:Are you leaving me?! Congratulations, dear. I wish you all the best. |
dumprep:I’m still here oh, my sis. We’ll leave after the kids get off school. Rooting for you and tippex! #tambourinetinz |
dumprep:Yippee! It’s coming! |
Swtibogirl88:Hello Mrs Doc. No, he won’t need reference letters since you will capture his work experience under personal history post-ITA. However, after you land, he will still have to evaluate his MBBS and family medicine fellowship (if he has that) with MCC if he intends to work as a physician in Canada. |
VFUSION:I live in a different country from my family, so I requested more time to get our passports together. I was given an extension of about 3 months (until December) and advised that I don't necessarily have to submit in the same location as my family. I didn't attach any evidence to the email, although I had previously raised a CSE for change of address. Your email should be to the Ottawa office, with your PPR letter in the thread. |
Thanks, everyone! Merely seeing your posts has multiplied my joy a thousand fold. For those asking about my visa office, sorry I have no idea. I never found out, and my GCMS notes still dey road. |
You guys were right!!! You were so right!!! IT'S PPR!!!!! I can't believe it. I have been screaming round my house since I saw the mail. After all the BP spikes and chest pain, here we are. Thanks to everyone who calmed me down yesterday. Please find my timeline below. ITA - March 26 AOR - June 13 MEP/IP1 - June 27 IP2/ADR for spouse's Schedule A - August 3 1st Ghost update - August 15 2nd Ghost update - September 4 PPR - September 5 My journey started in 2016 when I decided to apply for EE using an agent. Wrote IELTS in September 2016, got my ECA and dived in. I had to reject the first ITA because I found out that my agent had made some 'modifications' to my work history, and wanted me to get my former employers to tweak things to that effect. The second ITA timed out due to POF issues. After that, I lost interest and decided to continue with my academics instead. By December 2017, my brother became a PR and I realized that I could get back the points I had lost due to having a birthday. Add to that the prospect of a wasted IELTS, I decided to give EE another go. And the rest, as they say, is history. I got ITA two weeks before my birthday at a CRS score of 451. Cut-off for that draw was 446, exactly 5 points below my score. POF was my (accompanying) spouse's employee savings, the letter was not in any particular format but stated the current balance and how long he had been saving. I included his work history in the application since I knew our POF was somewhat tied to his job, so we had to get letters from his supervisors as well. It's been a long and challenging journey - for all of us - but I know that our rest is near. To my fellow June AORs, thanks for the encouragement, you all are next in line. Cheers. ~dances out with serious Niger Delta waist shaking~ |
My dear people of the kingdom, you people should come and give me anti-hypertensive medication oh! These CIC people are just causing BP spikes ‘any-ha’. I just received a second ghost update since I entered IP2 on August 3. I did raise a CSE about a week ago for change of address/location. Is it typical to receive a ghost update in response to a CSE? Aunty @tippex and other June AORs, how una dey? |
ChandlerBing:Chai. Miss Chanandler Bong, could you beee any harsher? ![]() |
Congratulations to all who received ITA. I am truly happy for you all. And to all still waiting, delay is not denial. May you receive your heart's desire at the perfect time. |
tippex:Present. June 13 here. How are you holding up? |
aworldcitizen:I am so happy for you, dear. There's no feeling as good as being at peace. Your family deserves better than living on the edge and being denied basics, even though it is for a good cause. The part about your child being surprised about getting chicken really got to me. God bless them for understanding. When your season comes, these valley experiences are going to seem like a hazy dream. Keep holding on, and thanks for encouraging us. |
Osaze007:Congratulations, Osaze. |
ysteph:Do you know of anyone who used this reason (spouse has a good job and thus isn't ready to immigrate) and still got PR? Back in 2016 when I first started this process, I was told by an agent that your VO might be hesitant to give you the PR since it will be interpreted as if you only want the PR status as a back-up and you will leave Canada whenever things get tough since you still have such a strong tie back home. Since I came on this forum, I have learnt to take agents' views with a pinch of salt, but I would still like to know what the consensus on this is. Thanks. |
o2:I do not doubt this story one bit. Checks like this are done during secondary inspection in the U.S., and so experiencing same in Canada won't be far-fetched. In fact, my sister was not just asked to unlock her phone, she was asked to draw her unlock pattern on a sheet of paper so that the agent would - in our Naija expression - use his hand and open the phone! They checked through her Whatsapp, text messages, etc. Thank God everything was benign. To avoid stories that touch, Whatsapp allows you to disable media auto download. That way you can choose what gets saved on your phone. |
Congratulations Ethelia, Adib007 and Qsola! This is amazing news. I rejoice with you. |
[quote author=grammy010 post=68931994]Good day my people, Please is there always another ghost notification you receive few days after passing medicals or it is the same ghost notification prior to PPR? The confusing thing here is that medicals was changed to passed just like 2days ago and RPPF is yet to be paid. Hi Grammy, I got a ghost update a couple of days after MEP myself. I have checked a number of times since then and there's been no change. I just decided to let it be, to avoid 'chest pain.' Lol. All the best. |
Blackbuddy:Not to sound like a buzz-kill, but I am scared for this our Oga. I am concerned that when he does get into Canada, with all the challenges that he will certainly face at the beginning, the drive and motivation that should keep him pushing on may not be there to sustain him. Ask yourself, Sir, "what do I/we really want?" People fluorish in Canada, people fluorish in Nigeria. Weigh your pros and cons. Nobody can make the decision for you. When the chips are down, when the challenges come, what convictions will keep you going? That's my concern for you. |
Obi1conte:Thank you very much. |
happytbaby:Lol @ disregard the agent. That is exactly my plan! Using my money to buy trouble. Thanks a lot! |
justbazick:Thank you so much. Clears things up nicely. |
Hi all, I have been a silent reader, encouraging myself with posts on here, and getting enlightened. I am currently in the pool with a score of 450, hoping for a draw next Wednesday with favorable cut-off. However, my birthday comes up second week of April, and I have been told that even if I get ITA before my birthday, I will eventually be refused the PR because of my potential loss of 5 points. I was told that I will be assessed based on my age/score as at when I submit the application, not as at receipt of ITA. How true is this? Secondly, regarding POF, I have read how people use reference letters from their pension account. I am the PA, so can we use my spouse's pension account statement as part of our POF? An agent I asked said that we would have to first liquidate it and transfer the funds to my account, which we are hesitant to do. I await your responses. Thanks. |
