I received an sms requesting me to click on a link to buy shares in Dangote Group of Companies. I clicked and was redirected to a website bearing information on the supposed investment. A unit of shares was said to be N525 and 10 units of shares are minimum purchase. I attempted purchasing as I assumed N5,250 for 10 units of shares was rather too small an amount to deprive myself of curiosity satisfaction. So I clicked the SUBSCRIBE button but it read that purchases were not open yet and that the date for it will be communicated. I also sent a whatsapp mesaage to the number provided on the site. The receiver repeated the same information on the site. My question is, "How true is this?" "Is this another Ponzi or is it legit?" Please give your suggestions and opinions in the conment section.

I consider it quite appalling that people tend to prey on the weak especially children. But I don't think it was necessary to mention the name of the business. Why drag the business place while it was a stupid staff that committed the offense. My humble opinion though. |
Boyfriend shoots his girlfriend on the private part. He accuse her of cheating and thus took laws into his hands. In as much as I discourage infidelity, I believe this man went too far. Secondly, the lady in question is not his wife yet. Please let me have your opinions in the comment section. Do you think a lady whose bride price has not been paid yet owes a man total loyalty? |

***Inmates face hunger, starvation ***Prison authorities deny claims, defend feeding system For three years inside the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos, survival for Mike Okoroafor came down to a daily calculation: find alternative food or go hungry. Convicted for fraud and later discharged by the Court of Appeal, Okoroafor said that while his legal ordeal eventually ended, the struggle to stay nourished in custody remains the most haunting part of his experience. He recalled: “The first week I relied on prison food, my body began to weaken. By the second week, I made up my mind never to depend on it again. That was when I realised that if you don’t find alternatives, you can’t survive.” Okoroafor’s account is not isolated. Interviews with former and current inmates, as well as independent findings by Vanguard, point to a deeply strained feeding system across Nigeria’s correctional centres – one undermined by chronic overcrowding, inadequate funding, weak oversight, and allegations of diversion of food supplies. A system stretched beyond limits Nigeria’s correctional facilities are currently operating far beyond their designed capacity. According to data from the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, NBS, the inmate population has climbed above 80,000, with about 65 per cent classified as awaiting trial. This imbalance has invariably placed enormous pressure on basic services, particularly feeding. Facilities originally built to house far fewer inmates now struggle to cater to swelling populations. Kitchens designed for hundreds must now feed thousands, often with limited infrastructure and outdated equipment. The result, according to multiple accounts, is a system where both the quality and quantity of meals are compromised. Across custodial centres, feeding follows a predictable pattern. Breakfast typically consists of pap, beans, or tea and bread. Lunch may include rice and stew, or yam or eba served with soup. Dinner is often a repetition or variation of what was served earlier in the day. Food items are supplied by government contractors and prepared within the prisons, largely by selected inmates using large pots and gas cookers. On paper, the arrangement appears functional. In reality, inmates describe a vastly different picture. “The food is just routine, not nutrition. It is cooked to fill space, not to sustain health,” said Tunde Oyedele, a former inmate of Kirikiri Correctional Centre. His most vivid recollection is the condition of the food itself. “Eating beans there is like chewing stones. They don’t sort it properly. Sometimes the stones are almost half of what you’re given. You spend more time removing stones than eating,” he said. He added that rice served within the facility is often poorly processed and inadequately cooked. “The rice can be worse. Some inmates take their portion, wash it again, and recook it. That is if they can afford to buy pepper or oil. That’s how people manage,” he noted. Another ex-inmate, Adam Aboh, who was released a few months ago, corroborated this but pointed more directly to preparation methods. He said: “The problem is not just quantity, it’s how the food is made. Beans are cooked overnight, and by morning they just add small oil, pepper and seasoning. Then they keep adding water depending on how many people want to eat. It becomes watery and tasteless.” He described meals that, in his words, “even a hungry man would struggle to swallow.” Health consequences For many inmates, the effects of poor feeding go beyond discomfort, they translate into real health challenges. Joyce Edeh, who was held at the Kirikiri Female Correctional Centre, said her time in custody was marked by recurring illness linked to food quality. She said: “I was constantly going to the clinic for stomach pain, weakness and sometimes diarrhoea. The food was not balanced, and sometimes it was outright bad.” She added that cases of malnutrition were not uncommon, particularly among inmates who lacked external support from family or friends. “When you don’t have anyone bringing you food or money, you are forced to depend on what is available. And what is available is not enough to keep you healthy,” she said. Government intervention In response to mounting criticism over prison conditions, the Federal Government, about two years ago, increased the daily feeding allowance per inmate from less than N700 to N1,500. The move was widely seen as a necessary adjustment in light of rising food prices. However, some inmates told Vanguard that the increment has not translated into meaningful improvement. “The amount may have increased on paper, but in reality, it doesn’t go far,” an inmate who did not want his name mentioned said. Beyond quality concerns, the inmate insisted that the quantity of food provided is equally problematic. He also alleged that less than half a bag of beans is sometimes used to prepare breakfast for over 2,000 inmates. “You can imagine the result. Everybody just gets a small portion that cannot satisfy hunger,” he said. Another inmate who simply identified himself as Adegbite disclosed that while quantity is an issue, many inmates deliberately avoid official meals due to their poor state. “Not many people rely on prison food. Those who do are mostly people who have no other option. You can’t eat that kind of food and survive. Allegations of diversion A recurring theme in inmate testimonies is the alleged diversion of food supplies. One inmate told Vanguard that the volume of food delivered to prisons often does not match what is eventually cooked. “When supplies come in, they are usually much. But when it’s time to cook, only small portions are released. The rest is taken away and sometimes sold,” she said. She alleged that diverted food items are occasionally resold within the prison system, forcing inmates to buy what should have been freely provided. “Sometimes when we give prison officials money to help us buy food items and within a few minutes they are back, we know that they didn’t actually buy the food items from the market. They most probably took it from the store and sold it to us. It’s a common practice and they can’t deny it,” she narrated. Survival strategies Faced with these challenges, inmates have developed informal systems to cope. Findings indicate three broad categories of inmates when it comes to feeding: Those who depend entirely on prison meals and occasional donations from NGOs; those who buy and cook their own food; and a privileged minority who can afford better options through canteens or external vendors. For many, survival depends on the second category. Despite official restrictions, makeshift cooking arrangements are widespread. Small stoves, pots, and utensils are often found within cell corridors, allowing inmates to prepare their own meals when they can access raw ingredients. “I cook whenever I have money. That is the only way to eat something decent,” said one awaiting-trial inmate.

Reasons Why One Should Never Judge His Parents Until He Becomes a Parent The saying “You should never judge your parents until you become a parent yourself” encourages us to understand our parents before criticizing their decisions. Parenthood comes with responsibilities, sacrifices, fears, and challenges that children may not fully appreciate while growing up.

Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime girlfriend Georgina Rodríguez at a civil ceremony in Portugal. The couple, who have been together since 2016 after meeting in Madrid, posted a picture on Instagram showing off their rings. Ronaldo, 41, tied the knot just four days before his club Al Nassr start their 2026-27 Saudi Pro League campaign. The couple were married in Cascais, a coastal resort town about 20 miles west of the Portuguese capital Lisbon, with the ceremony attended by their five children. Ronaldo has scored nearly 1,000 goals in a career playing for Sporting, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al Nassr and Portugal. He recently played in his sixth World Cup, sharing the record with Argentina's Lionel Messi for most appearances in the men's finals.

Owolabi97:I am not insinuating breakup. If you both are happy, then it is fine. Just be aware of the challenges involved and be emotionally ready for it. No one says single mothers dont make good marriages but are you as the man ready to face the challenges? If yes, then go ahead. Afterall, people still marry sickle cell ammenia patients for love. Take care brother. |
Mirasteel:These guys are so rich. Whatever they pay him is a tip of the iceberg. At least he won the league for them for the first time in their history. |
No hard feelings for single mothers but some factors are crucial to consider before taking the decision. When a single woman marries newly, her attention is usually towards her husband. When she gives birth, a great portion of that attention shifts to her children. If the man who originally married her and took her attention at first becomes unable to keep her and she becomes unable to stay loyal to him, she may never give an equal attention to any other man. She may show affectional appreciations to a new lover for kind gestures, financial and emotional supports but I tell you that these supports offered by the new man are his purchasing power for her affection. If the man stops giving these, then he may struggle a great deal in the marriage to the single mum. A greater challenge is in the bid to impress her child/children. In the bid to impress, disciplinary measures on the kids for wrong doing such as scolding, etc may be eluded just because you want to create an impression of good step-dad. You may struggle to shape the children to your style; unless she agrees to keep those kids with relatives while she concentates on the immediate family and raises kids for you. The adverse love for tokumbo products has really great effect on men in choice of marriage also. Leave tokumbo women, marry a single lady and build your own future from a foundation of your design and making and not dooming yourself to building on a foundation that someone else started which may already be faulty. One love

He has almost single-handedly put Saudi Pro League on the world map. |
Cristiano Ronaldo continues to reshape modern soccer, both on and off the pitch, with his move to Saudi Arabia proving to be one of the most influential transfers in the sport’s history. While his arrival transformed the landscape of the Saudi Pro League and elevated the profile of his club around the world, it has also helped him achieve another remarkable financial milestone that further cements his status as one of soccer’s greatest icons. Since making the switch in late 2022, Ronaldo has become the face of Saudi soccer, helping the club attract worldwide attention while inspiring a wave of elite talent to follow. His impact stretches far beyond goals and trophies, influencing broadcasting, sponsorship, attendance and global interest in the competition. When Cristiano Ronaldo signed for Al-Nassr, many viewed the transfer as the final chapter of an extraordinary playing career. Instead, it became the beginning of an entirely new era for soccer in Saudi Arabia. His arrival immediately accelerated the country’s Vision 2030 sporting ambitions, turning the Saudi Pro League from a largely regional competition into one followed by supporters across the globe. The Portuguese superstar quickly became the league’s biggest attraction, encouraging several world-class players to make similar moves. Among the stars who followed Ronaldo into Saudi Arabia were Karim Benzema, Neymar, N’Golo Kante and Sadio Mane, further strengthening the league’s reputation. Their arrivals helped validate the ambitious project that Ronaldo himself has often spoken about, with the veteran forward previously expressing his belief that the competition could eventually become one of the world’s strongest. NEW EARNINGS RECORD EMERGES Beyond his influence on soccer itself, Ronaldo has now reportedly become the highest-paid player in history through his Al-Nassr contract, setting a new benchmark for player earnings. According to multiple reports, the Portuguese legend has earned approximately $730 million in wages and performance bonuses during his first three and a half years with Al-Nassr. The figure comes from a combination of guaranteed salary, goal bonuses, assist incentives, and rewards linked to individual and team success. The reported breakdown includes: Income Source Reported Earnings Base Salary $695 million Goal Bonuses $13 million Assist Bonuses $1.2 million Saudi Pro League Golden Boot Bonuses (2) $10 million Saudi Pro League Title Bonus $10 million Total Reported Earnings $729.2 million (≈ $730 million) EXTRAORDINARY CONTRACT KEEPS GOING The financial package became even more valuable after Ronaldo signed a two-year contract extension in June 2025, keeping him at Al-Nassr until 2027. Reports indicate the agreement is worth well over $235 million per season, while also including commercial rights, signing bonuses, luxury travel arrangements and extensive support staff. THUMBS UP! CRISTIANO RONALDO
