GameGod:I've already decided that I'll get the ps3 pad. I'm sure the touchpad and gyroscope won't improve my gaming experience. Ps4 pad is almost thrice the price of ps3. No need to spend that much if the ps3 pad will give me what I really, really need - Accurate analog controls and triggers. |
GameGod:I see. Thanks. I'll do some research and if I see that there are enough games using the touchpad and gyroscope, I'll get the ps4. |
LucemFerre:Lol.... Okay. Looks like I'll opt for the ps4 pad. |
crafteck:I see. |
GameGod:Wow, cool. What games have you played that utilized the touchpad and gyroscope? And in what way? |
GameGod:You use ps4 pad for pc games without extra software? I read online that you need ds4windows or something. |
LucemFerre:Do I use the d-pad to control my characters? Nah, man. That is just a waste. The reason I opened this thread in the first place is because I treasure the analog sticks. Modern games do not even allow you to control your character with d-pad. The point of the analog sticks being analog is to give more control to the movement of your character. Most 3rd person games allow you to vary the movement speed of your character with the analog. I agree. The position of the analog stick in the Xbox is exactly where it should be, parallel with the action buttons. It's more intuitive especially with 3rd person games. But I've become too used with the PS pad layout, and switching to Xbox might take some getting used to. |
LucemFerre:Precisely what I don't like about the Xbox controllers is the placement of the joystick. I also don't like the fatness of the grips. |
crafteck:You mean looking at the pad to find which button to press? I don't think so. I've been accustomed to pads with ps look for years. And I know the Xbox equivalent of each button. What advantage does the ps4 pad have over the ps3, besides the trackpad and lightbar? |
crafteck:I don't want an xbox pad. I mentioned I want a pad with the play station layout. I'm more used to those and find them more comfortable. |
crafteck:Lol....I need quality but I don't want to break my pocket yet this festive period. ![]() Please tell me what you think. |
LucemFerre:Yeah. I've read up on how to configure it. As long as its a one time thing, it's okay. What about ps3 controllers? I'm more interested in those. Do they last? |
GameGod:Do you use those trackpads in your pc games? |
GameGod:I'm done with those generic controllers. It's not that they don't last, the controls are just whack. The PS4 pad is more than what I need. That trackpad and the lightbar will be useless for me, so I don't want to pay extra for that. The ps3 pad (or something similar) is just perfect for what I need. Good analog sticks and analog triggers. So I guess I'll be getting that. |
GameGod:What pad do you use? I'm using one of those generic pads but I don't like them anymore because of the bad analog. I need one with good analog inputs. https://www.nairaland.com/4928382/looking-affordable-gamepads-pc-correct |
Can pc gamers please help me out in this thread? https://www.nairaland.com/4928382/looking-affordable-gamepads-pc-correct |
@GameGod. Do you use pads to play your pc games? |
I've been using these generic gamepads (those cheap chinese ones) on my PC for years and they've worked for me quite well. But every single one of them have used always had a problem. Their analog inputs (the left and right sticks) are very poor. If you know about analog and digital inputs and you've used these kinds of pads, you'll understand what I mean. I remember playing God of War during the ps2 days. When I push only slightly on the left stick, Kratos walks slowly, and pushing the stick further, Kratos gradually transitions from walking to running. Kratos doesn't run at full speed until I've pushed the left stick all the way to the limit. The problem with these generic pads is that pushing the stick just halfway already makes your character to run at full speed. Sometimes, you can't even make your character walk. The analog is almost digital and becomes pointless. Also, these gamepads don't have analog triggers (L2, R2). They are completely digital unlike the ones in xbox 360 and ps3 controllers. I need recommendations from people that use controllers with good analog inputs on their pc. I don't want to use the Xbox 360 controller because I prefer the PS layout. What I have in mind is the Ps3 controller. Is there anyone that uses that on their pc? Thanks. |
crafteck:Actually, 60 fps is noticeably different. It is a lot more fluid and very pleasing in comparison. But I can definitely play at 30 fps comfortably. Some people can't. They claim it makes them sick and dizzy. Some say they can't bear anything less than 144 fps. Then there are those resolution freaks that can't play in resolution less than 2k. These are the kind of people I terribly dislike. They think themselves to be PC gods. For me, gaming at 1080p 60 fps is more than enough. |
crafteck:If ps4 is 2 months to the end of its life and one has the money to get the next gen, it would be foolish to buy the ps4 unless somehow you can sell it for the same price you bought it. Also, if you really believe console is the most logical choice, you wouldn't still be holding on to your 1070 rig. You would have sold it. |
crafteck:Chai. What a waste. You are insulting those that are managing gtx 1050 ![]() |
MrDojo:If you have the money for the RTX 2070, then go for it. But you must have enough money for the components to match it, in terms of RAM and CPU. Meaning, it doesn't make sense to have an 8gb ram and i5 core on a system with RTX 2070. Balance everything. Concerning the question, if you want a console, get a PS4. Ps4 pro would be ideal, but keep in mind that ps4 is reaching the end of its life cycle and ps5 will release in 2020 or so..... but you can still fully enjoy your ps4 in 2 years. If you want a gaming PC, get a gaming desktop (not a gaming laptop). Gaming laptops are crazy expensive compared to gaming PC and yet not as strong. A GTX 1070 desktop is around 15% stronger than a GTX 1070 laptop, AND cheaper. If you have to choose between PC and console, I'll recommend PC. If you care about exclusives, you may have to think more on that. I'm still sad about not being able to play Marvel's Spiderman, God of war and RDR2. By the way, I own a gaming laptop with a GTX 1060 max-q. |
GameGod:Haha.... You respect order, and treat games on first come, first serve basis. I like that. Some people can even jump to play the part 3 of a game because it's new, when they haven't played part 1 and 2. Those are crazy nice games you got there. Where do you stay? Any chance we could meet around Iyana-Ipaja or UNILAG? |
Finally finished GTA V after around 35 hours.
|
GameGod:Wow.... My exact specs, with lower ram (8gb). You seem to be a core assassins creed fan. Have you played Assassins creed Odyssey? |
otunba88:Is it possible to meet at Iyana-Ipaja? |
.
|
otunba88:How do I get it? |
otunba88:Do you have Shadow of the tomb raider? How much? |
LucemFerre:I know where to get cracked games as well and I used to download as many as I could when I had access to my school's wifi, but I don't anymore. So downloading is a problem. |
wman:How much is it? |
Just finished Unravel 2. Beautiful indie game.
