Shoot On Sight, Wait For No Order—New Defence Minister Charges Troops

The newly appointed Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), has ordered troops to engage armed bandits immediately on sight without waiting for further directives.

Musa, during his Senate screening on Wednesday, said this instruction was essential for frontline protection and for restoring confidence in the country’s security efforts.

Musa issued the directive while responding to lawmakers’ concerns about command delays during encounters with insurgents.

He explained that military personnel automatically assume the mandate to kill armed criminals once deployed to conflict zones.

According to him, troops must rely on their training and instincts to protect themselves, their colleagues, and the communities under their watch.

He said, “And for the troop, every personnel member that is deployed knows why they’re deployed. You are to engage any criminal or any bandit that is armed and about to kill you. You don’t have to wait.

“Somebody’s aiming to shoot at you, you’re waiting for orders, from who? Once you are deployed, you automatically have that responsibility.”

Musa added that troops cannot claim they are awaiting authorisation when confronting imminent danger.

He continued, “Your colleague is to be shot and you know, there is no other way of stopping it, other than to kill the person. You are to secure the community or property you are protecting, and this they all know.

“So if any member of the armed forces deployed anywhere tells you that he’s waiting for an order, he is lying and he’s only a coward.

“There is nothing like he’s waiting for any order. The order is automatic. He’s briefed before he’s deployed. And I think that it is very important that we be able to bridge that gap.”

Musa also disclosed that the defence ministry plans to withdraw soldiers from routine checkpoints and redeploy them to active conflict zones.

He said the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps would take over checkpoint operations, allowing soldiers to confront insurgents in difficult terrain.

He stated, “What we want to do is withdraw all personnel and military men from all checkpoints and let the police and civil defence handle those aspects.

“These will enable the military men to go into the bushes and take out these criminals, wherever they are as it’s important.

“Farmers must be able to go back to their farms… If people can’t eat, you can imagine what will happen.”

Musa stressed the need for continuous collaboration between security agencies to secure food-producing communities and restore agricultural activities disrupted by violence.

Addressing rising concerns around mass killings across regions, Musa described the situation as one that affects every Nigerian.

He said, “People are killed, people are dying. That’s why it’s important, that we must come together and it is when we allow them to have gaps that they penetrate.

“They don’t care who they kill. A bunch of evil people that are on drugs… no Nigerians must be killed for whatever reason.”

On military recruitment, Musa said the ministry is strengthening background checks to prevent sabotage and ensure that only committed applicants are enlisted.

He observed that some applicants avoid postings to conflict areas, while some states contribute fewer recruits to the national pool.

He stated, “On the issue of saboteurs normally we recruit from the society. Recruitments are going to be thorough which brings us back to the use of a database.

“A lot of people now because there is war, even in the military you find some people not willing to go to where there are conflicts.

“Again, we have observed some states, regions that don’t enrol. Currently, we have over 70,000 applying to join, however, we have a way of balancing it so Nigerians can participate.”

Musa acknowledged the high expectations attached to his appointment and said he intends to deliver on national security obligations.

In his words, “I am also feeling the heat. I know that I cannot afford to fail myself, fail my nation, fail my family.”

The minister proposed engaging retired military personnel to support national security structures, noting that their decades of experience should not be wasted.

He said, “Some retirees have over 40 years of experience. They are very brilliant and committed, Let us utilize them.”

Musa concluded by attributing the persistence of terrorism and banditry to years of neglected security gaps, including weak coordination with communities and government structures.

He assured Nigerians and lawmakers that his leadership will prioritise closing these gaps to improve national safety.

Sultan of Sokoto Jokes ‘Nnamdi Kanu Is Now My Subject, I Will Soon Turban Him.

A light-hearted remark by the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, has added an unexpected twist to Governor Alex Otti’s visit to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, at the Sokoto Correctional Centre on Sunday.

Governor Otti, who led a delegation to see Kanu, told the IPOB leader that the Sultan had expressed support for a peaceful resolution of the matter – and had jokingly remarked that Kanu was now his “subject” and would soon be turbaned.

The comment, reportedly delivered in jest, drew laughter from Kanu, who has been held in custody since his conviction.

Otti was accompanied on the visit by Kanu’s younger brother, Emmanuel Kanu; the Abia State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Ikechukwu Uwanna (SAN); and his media adviser, Ferdinand Ekeoma. Some officials of the Sokoto State Government were also present.

Ekeoma, in a statement after the visit, said Otti encouraged the IPOB leader to remain hopeful, assuring him that engagements initiated over two years ago to secure his release had been intensified.

He quoted the governor as saying that the issue would be resolved “administratively” and expressed confidence that Kanu would soon regain his freedom.

According to the statement, Kanu was in high spirits during the meeting. He thanked Otti for the visit, praised the governor’s development efforts in Abia State, and urged him to remain focused on governance.
He also prayed for Otti and his entourage.

The governor’s disclosure of the Sultan’s humorous remark has sparked reactions, coming at a time when conversations around reconciliation and national unity continue to dominate discourse surrounding Kanu’s prolonged detention.

PoliticsDSS DG Releases Suspected IPOB Member Detained Since 2022, Compensated N5m Naira by Masterstroke4(op): 9:19am On Nov 25, 2025
DSS DG Releases Suspected IPOB Member Detained Since 2022
Barely one month after ordering the release and compensation of one Abuja-based business woman, Mrs. Chineze Ozoadibe, the Director General, State Security Services (DSS), Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi, has ordered the release of one Kenneth Okechukwu Nwafor, arrested in July 2022, for his alleged involvement in the activities of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).

The DG also awarded Nwafor, who hails from Isuikwuato LGA of Abia state, N5 million as compensation for the wrongful arrest and free medicare.

Credible security sources revealed that detailed investigation conducted by personnel of the Service exonerated Nwafor.
The source noted that the release and compensation are in line with the Director General’s directive that all the cases he inherited be reviewed to ensure due process and prompt dispensation of justice.

“The DG directed his investigation officers to conduct detailed review of all pending cases and they have been dutifully doing that. Nwafor’s case is one of such cases’,” the source offered.

“The gesture, one of the several by the DG, is a testament to his resolve to comply with the rule of law and adherence to the service standard operating procedure,” he stated, adding, three Abia men, Udemba, Onyedikachi and Eze, suspected of belongings to IPOB, were equally released.

“Mr Tosin Ajayi acknowledges that as humans, we sometimes make mistakes. He also believes that when such mistakes are made, the right thing is to make amends. That is why he has established a culture of accountability and humanly makes efforts to remedy the mistakes of the Agency,” added the source.

“Remember he paid N20 million as compensation to one Jos- based businessman who was erroneously shot on the leg in the course of a security operation in 2016.
Even when the court awarded N10 million in damages against the DSS, the agency refused to pay until Ajayi became DG. He doubled the money.

“Nwafor isn’t the first Igbo to be released and compensated under similar circumstances. Some months ago, the DG ordered the release of three young men wrongfully detained for belonging to IPOB.

“Last month, he paid N10 million as compensation to the Abuja-based Igbo businesswoman arrested by a sister security agency for alleged illegal oil bunkering. The DG added N10 million for five others to share, explained the source, adding, “this has become the trend since the new DSS leadership.”

PoliticsChristian Genocide: US Congress Begins Full-scale Probe Into Nigeria’s Killings by Masterstroke4(op): 9:13am On Nov 17, 2025
Alleged Christian genocide: US Congress begins full-scale probe into Nigeria’s killings

The United States House of Representatives Subcommittee on Africa will hold an open hearing on Thursday, November 20, 2025, to examine President Donald Trump’s recent redesignation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern.

The CPC designation, if ratified by the Senate, would allow the US to impose sanctions on Nigerian officials found complicit in religious persecution and limit certain forms of bilateral assistance.

It also signals to the international community that religious freedom in Nigeria remains under serious threat.

The hearing, scheduled for 11:00 am in Room 2172 of the Rayburn House Office Building and available via live webcast, will be chaired by Representative Chris Smith (R-NJ).

It will feature two panels of witnesses, including senior US State Department officials and Nigerian religious leaders.

The invite to the members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, sighted by The PUNCH, read, “You are respectfully requested to attend an open hearing of the Committee on Foreign Affairs to be held by the Subcommittee on Africa at 11:00 a.m. in Room 2172 of the Rayburn House Office Building.

According to the invite, panelists will include Senior Bureau Official of the Bureau of African Affairs, Jonathan Pratt, and Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, Jacob McGee.

The second panel will feature the Director of the Centre for Religious Freedom, Ms Nina Shea; Bishop Wilfred Anagbe of Makurdi Catholic Diocese in Nigeria; and Ms Oge Onubogu of the Centre for Strategic & International Studies.

The congressional hearing is expected to review not only the scope of religious persecution in Nigeria, but also potential policy responses, including targeted sanctions, humanitarian assistance, and collaboration with Nigerian authorities to prevent further violence.

On October 31, 2025, President Trump designated Nigeria a ‘’Country of Particular Concern’’ for religious freedom violations.
The move has sparked debate over rising attacks on Christians in Nigeria and the possibility of US intervention.

In designating Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern, Trump cited alleged severe violations of religious freedom, particularly the persecution of Christians.

He claimed that Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria, with thousands of Christians being killed by radical Islamists.

Trump warned that the US would take action, including potential military intervention, if Nigeria did not address the issue.

The US President also threatened to halt all aid and assistance to Nigeria should President Bola Tinubu’s administration fail to end the alleged persecution and killing of Christians.

“If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the USA will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well go into that now-disgraced country, ‘guns-a-blazing,’ to completely wipe out the Islamic terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.

“I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action.
If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our cherished Christians,” he said on November 1, 2025.

President Tinubu, however, described the claim as a misrepresentation of Nigeria’s religious reality.

Reacting through a statement on his official X handle, Tinubu said the claim failed to reflect the country’s constitutional commitment to religious liberty.

‘’Nigeria stands firmly as a democracy governed by constitutional guarantees of religious liberty. The characterisation of Nigeria as religiously intolerant does not reflect our national reality.

“Religious freedom and tolerance have been a core tenet of our collective identity and shall always remain so. Nigeria opposes religious persecution and does not encourage it,” the President said.

Trump’s designation comes amid repeated attacks on Christian communities in Nigeria, including killings by Islamic extremist groups, kidnappings, and the destruction of churches.

The bill is also before the Senate of the United States, sponsored by Senator Ted Cruz.

Nigeria was first designated CPC by Trump in 2020, before his successor, President Joe Biden, removed the country from the list after defeating Trump.

Bishop Anagbe, who will testify at the House Committee hearing, had recently voiced his concerns over Christian killings in the country.

Speaking at an event in the United Kingdom Parliament on March 25, 2025, Bishop Anagbe denounced the mass killing of Christians by Islamist extremists and militant Fulani herdsmen.

Visiting the UK as a guest of Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need, he told parliamentarians how his flock had seen their homes torched and were forced to flee to internally displaced persons’ camps.

The bishop said that Benue State had been attacked by Islamist extremists and Fulani herdsmen targeting Christian communities, and had seen farmers driven from their land, churches burned, and priests, religious, and lay members killed.

“The militant Fulani herdsmen bear down on defenseless villagers without consequence.

“They follow orders to conquer, kill, and occupy. They attack even those who have managed to escape into our IDP camps,” he told the UK parliamentarians.

Riley Moore (R-WV), in an interview with Fox News on Sunday, said, “We’ve already started that investigation, and it’s the House Appropriations Committee; we’re working with the other relevant stakeholders in Congress, including the Foreign Affairs Committee.

“Also working with the leadership… to present findings to the President as soon as we can, and once we have some real ground truth from our perspective.

“Obviously, we’ve been working with the State Department and (others) in the White House, and we’re in constant coordination and communication on this issue. We’re going to get to the bottom of this.”

According to him, what is going on in the country “is horrific – these killings of brothers and sisters in Christ, but we, and as President Trump has said it, we’re going to stop this.”

On Tinubu’s push back that Trump claims do not represent Nigeria’s reality, Moore countered, saying, “Unfortunately, that is completely false. I mean, there are states in Nigeria that have blasphemy laws, people who are facing the death penalty right now for blasphemy against Islam.

“There’s a person right now who is held in prison for defending himself from an attack by a Muslim militant from the Fulani tribe.

“He defended himself, and he’s facing the death penalty. So, there is a serious persecution happening in Nigeria, and President Tinubu, who is in a difficult position and trying to protect his interest there in that country, but they are complicit in this to one degree or the other with statements like this.”

On the Christian-Muslim killing ratio, Moore said, “There are Muslims that are being killed there, but the deaths that we have been able to garner from the facts on the ground are five to one, five to one Christians versus other minority, other religious affiliations in that country.”

He insisted, “It is five (Christians) to one Muslim who is being killed in Nigeria.”

When asked if the US should have a role in what seems to be an internal issue in another sovereign country, Moore said, “I think we absolutely do. We are a Christian nation and a nation that believes in the values and virtues of standing up for people who are being persecuted.

“That destination that the President just did to name the country a Country of Particular Concern unlocks … different levels the President can use against that country, sanctions being one of them, withholding development dollars, and restricting financing from financial institutions.

“So there’s a lot that can be done there, but the President has put all options on the table, including military kinetic action.”

Pope Leo XIV has voiced concern over violence allegedly targeting Christians in Nigeria and other countries.

The Pope’s comment on Sunday comes about two weeks after President Trump threatened military action in Nigeria over an alleged genocide against Christians in the country.

In a post on his verified X handle, @Pontifex, the Pope lamented that Christians were suffering discrimination and persecution.

He cited Nigeria and some other African countries, as well as Bangladesh in South Asia, as hotspot regions where worship centres were allegedly being targeted by attackers.

“In various parts of the world, Christians suffer discrimination and persecution. I think especially of Bangladesh, Nigeria, Mozambique, Sudan, and other countries from which we frequently hear of attacks on communities and places of worship,” the Pope said. “God is a merciful Father who desires peace among all His children!”

He also prayed “for the families of Kivu, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where in recent days there has been a massacre of civilians. Let us pray that all violence may cease and that believers may work together for the common good.”

Last week, US Congressman Bill Huizenga, during an interview with Arise TV, said Trump was unlikely to launch a military action in Nigeria.

According to the lawmaker, Trump probably wanted the killings allegedly targeted at Christians and other Nigerians to end.

“I too was surprised by the comments that they came out; that the President (Trump) came out that forcefully. I suspect that that is not a high priority of having actual military intervention, specifically in Nigeria.

“But I think he does want to make sure that, from his view, the genocide that is happening specifically against Christians, but also others in Nigeria, needs to stop.

“While I don’t envision a surprise attack, I don’t envision that there’s going to be a military response,” he said.

He added, “Frankly, this President has been someone who has pursued peace rather than just expanding war. So I think he would be very selective before he did anything militarily.”

According to him, economic sanctions would deter terrorists from funding their activities.

“Sanctions really cut off the flow of money, cut off the flow of travel. We don’t know who exactly is financing many of these operations, from the Fulani or Boko Haram in the past.

“And what I do know is, though, if we put economic pressure on them and the inability to move money around, that will have an impact, I think a positive impact,” he said.

He urged the Nigerian government to take action to check insecurity in the country.

In a bid to restore peace and foster inter-communal harmony in Plateau State, President Tinubu dispatched an emissary, Dr Abiodun Essiet, to the state last Thursday.

Essiet, a Senior Special Assistant on Community Engagement in the North Central Zone, met Christian clerics and Fulani Miyetti Allah community leaders.

She also paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Regional Church Council in Barkin Ladi, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, who has been a voice of Christian communities in the state.

According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), Bayo Onanuga, Essiet also held a closed-door meeting with the Irigwe community, the Miyetti Allah group, and representatives from the Youth Council of Bassa Local Government Area.

Essiet said the President remained committed to peace and inclusive governance, noting that the community-based peace structure served as a key instrument for grassroots unity, dialogue, and long-term stability in the North Central region.

PoliticsInsecurity Is Spreading, Terrorists Have Taken Over Parts Of Kogi, Edo, Osun by Masterstroke4(op):
Insecurity Is Spreading, Terrorists Have Taken Over Most Parts Of Kogi, Edo, And Osun State "–Dr. David Okoro

During an interview featured on Channels Television, security analyst Dr. David Okoro raised serious concerns about the rapid expansion of terrorist activities across several southern states in Nigeria.

Dr. Okoro stated that “this insecurity thing is spreading, terrorists have taken over most parts of Kogi, Edo, and Osun states.”

He described the situation as a dangerous escalation that threatens the stability of Nigeria’s heartland. He explained that the presence of armed groups in Kogi, Edo, and Osun signals a deliberate attempt by terrorist factions to establish new bases of operation outside their traditional territories.

According to him, this expansion shows that existing security measures have failed to stop the southward spread of violent extremism.

He noted that the geographical position of these states makes them strategically important for both economic and political reasons.

Kogi, he said, connects several regions, while Edo and Osun serve as vital routes for trade and transportation. Terrorists occupying such corridors could disrupt national commerce, movement, and agricultural productivity.

The security expert further explained that terrorist infiltration in these areas often begins subtly, with banditry and kidnapping, before evolving into organized insurgent activity.

He added that intelligence reports have consistently shown increased movement of armed groups along forest belts linking the northern and southern states.

Dr. Okoro warned that the failure to act decisively could allow terrorists to entrench themselves permanently in these regions. He emphasized that once terrorist cells establish supply networks and local collaborators, reclaiming those territories becomes far more difficult.

He criticized what he described as the government’s slow and reactive approach to security management. Instead of waiting for crises to escalate, he argued, federal and state authorities must coordinate early interventions that combine military action with intelligence-led policing.

According to him, the spread of terrorism into central and southern states also reflects broader governance failures.

He highlighted unemployment, poor rural security structures, and the lack of inter-state cooperation as factors that have allowed militants to move undetected across borders.

Dr. Okoro urged both federal and state governments to recognize that insecurity is no longer confined to a single region. He called for a unified national response that prioritizes intelligence sharing, technology-driven surveillance, and sustained community engagement.

He also noted that state governors have a direct role to play by strengthening local vigilante networks under proper regulation and oversight. Such community-based efforts, he said, could help detect threats before they grow into larger insurgencies.

Dr. Okoro warned that if the government continues to underestimate the scope of the threat, terrorists could soon hold significant influence over territories far beyond their current reach. He stressed that Nigeria’s unity and stability depend on swift, coordinated, and intelligent responses to what he called “a fast-spreading national crisis.”

PoliticsFull List: Tinubu Removes Maryam Sanda, Kidnappers, Drug Dealers, From Pardon by Masterstroke4(op): 6:07pm On Oct 29, 2025
Full List: Tinubu Removes Maryam Sanda, Kidnappers, Drug Dealers, Others From Pardon.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the removal of Maryam Sanda, sentenced to death in 2020 for the culpable homicide of her husband, Bilyaminu Bello, from the pardon list.

Naija News reports that this was made known in a statement on Wednesday by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The statement disclosed that Tinubu ordered the removal of individuals convicted of severe crimes, including kidnapping, drug offenses, human trafficking, fraud, and illegal firearms possession or trafficking, from the list.

Additionally, those who were previously pardoned on the old list have had their sentences reduced.

The statement reads: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has executed the relevant instruments of release to complete the process of formally exercising his constitutional power of prerogative of mercy to grant pardon and clemency to specific individuals who were earlier convicted for various offences.

“Following consultations with the Council of State and public opinion on the matter, the President directed a further review of the initially approved list for consideration in furtherance of the President’s discretionary powers under Section 175(1)(&(2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

“Consequently, certain persons convicted of serious crimes such as kidnapping, drug-related offences, human trafficking, fraud, unlawful possession of firearms/arms dealing, etc, were deleted from the list. Others who had been hitherto pardoned in the old list had their sentences commuted.

“This action became necessary in view of the seriousness and security implications of some of the offences, the need to be sensitive to the feelings of the victims of the crimes and society in general, the need to boost the morale of law enforcement agencies and adherence to bilateral obligations. The concept of justice as a three-way traffic for the Accused, the Victim, and the State/Society also guided the review.

“The approved list of eligible beneficiaries has been transmitted to the Nigerian Correctional Service for implementation in line with the duly signed instruments of release.

“Furthermore, to ensure that future exercises meet public expectations and best practices, the President has directed the immediate relocation of the Secretariat of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Prerogative of Mercy from the Federal Ministry of Special Duties to the Federal Ministry of Justice.

“President Tinubu also directed the Attorney-General of the Federation to issue appropriate Guidelines for the Exercise of the Power of Prerogative of Mercy, which includes compulsory consultation with relevant prosecuting agencies.

PoliticsFG, Senate Leaders Head To America To Stop US Sanctions Over Christian Genocide by Masterstroke4(op): 8:46am On Oct 23, 2025
Top officials of the Federal Government and the National Assembly are set to travel to Washington D.C. in a diplomatic move to stop possible United States sanctions over alleged persecution and genocide of Christians in Nigeria.

The high-powered delegation, which includes federal lawmakers, senior military officers, and heads of security agencies, will meet with members of the U.S. Congress to clarify Nigeria’s position and counter the growing narrative of “Christian genocide.”

The trip follows an urgent resolution by the 10th Senate, sponsored by Senator Ali Ndume, who urged the government to “put the record straight” and prevent sanctions against the country.

According to sources, the delegation will present evidence to prove that the security crisis in Nigeria is not religiously motivated but rather a result of terrorism, banditry, and communal conflicts. The team is expected to depart Abuja early next week.

In recent months, U.S. lawmakers and advocacy groups have increased pressure on Nigeria over rising attacks on Christian communities. Senator Ted Cruz recently accused Nigeria of “mass murder” of Christians and introduced the “Nigeria Religious Freedom Accountability Act of 2025” (S.2747).
The proposed bill seeks to list Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern,” a move that could trigger travel bans, arms restrictions, and other economic sanctions.

The Nigerian Senate had earlier dismissed the genocide allegations as “false and dangerous,” warning that such claims could damage the country’s image and inflame religious tensions.

Lawmakers maintained that the ongoing violence is complex and tied to criminality and resource struggles, not state-backed religious persecution.

Data from the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (ACLED) shows that between January 2020 and September 2025, over 11,800 civilian attacks were recorded in Nigeria. Among them, 385 incidents involved Christian victims, while 196 targeted Muslims, reflecting the widespread nature of insecurity across regions.

The Federal Government considers the Washington mission crucial to maintaining bilateral relations with the U.S. and protecting Nigeria’s access to international security partnerships.
Officials fear that any sanctions could strain cooperation in intelligence sharing, counterterrorism, and defense support.

Meanwhile, some U.S. lawmakers remain firm in their stance. Representative Anna Luna said, “Christians are being hunted and slaughtered in Nigeria for their faith — and the world stays silent. If this were any other group, there’d be global outrage.” Nigerian politics book

Her colleague, Nancy Mace, added: “Defend Nigerian Christians. Islamic terrorists are killing believers for worshipping Christianity while the world is looking the other way.”

It could be recalled earlier this month, the Nigerian Senate condemned similar claims made by foreign advocacy groups, describing them as politically motivated and disconnected from the realities of the country’s security challenges.

PoliticsNnamdi Kanu Lists Wike And Others As Witnesses - A Shocking Strategy Unfolds. by Masterstroke4(op): 7:51am On Oct 23, 2025
Breaking News:

Nnamdi Kanu’s Mention of Wike and Other Powerful Political Figures Becomes the Greatest Court Ambush of All Time — Even Mandela Never Pulled This Stunt!

“Kanu didn’t just defend himself,” said a senior lawyer, “he turned the courtroom into a battlefield — and walked in as the general.”

Tension shook the courtroom as Mazi Nnamdi Kanu made a shocking move that no one saw coming — he mentioned Wike and other powerful political bodies right inside the court.
The atmosphere changed instantly. Every lawyer, journalist, and even the judge was caught off guard.

Observers say this single act might be the greatest ambush in Nigerian judicial history. None of those mentioned would dare appear in court, and by that alone, Kanu has already won before the trial even begins.

“By mentioning them, he didn’t just talk — he attacked,” said one political analyst. “Those names were the untouchables, and he touched them in open court.
That’s not courage; that’s strategy mixed with destiny.”

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo couldn’t hide his reaction as he mocked President Tinubu, saying:

“At this point, Nnamdi Kanu has suspended the Nigerian judicial system.
He is walking freely inside the minds of his enemies. They are called Igbos for a reason — people you simply can’t defeat.”

According to a close source from his legal team, Kanu mentioned those names for a reason:
“He wanted the truth to face the truth.
He wanted to expose those who hide behind the curtain of power but control the chains of injustice. He wanted their shadows to walk into the light.”

Legal experts are calling it “a courtroom ambush crafted by destiny.” Even international observers say “Mandela never pulled a stunt this direct.”

“Kanu didn’t just enter court to defend himself,” another lawyer said. “He entered to shake the pillars of Nigeria.
He came as the voice of the voiceless — and he has spoken

PoliticsRoxettes Motors Produces the First Nigerian Electric Cars In Abia State. (Photo) by Masterstroke4(op): 12:53pm On Oct 17, 2025
New Made In NIGERIA Electric Cars Revealed!

How They Are Produced In ABIA State.
A new chapter in Nigeria’s homegrown auto story is unfolding in Abia State.
Roxettes Motors, formerly trading as Roxettes Eco Drives Ltd, has transitioned from showcasing announcements and glossy concept images to assembling vehicles at a newly built facility in Obu-Aku Industrial City.

The company says it intends to produce tens of thousands of cars a year, with a heavy focus on electric and CNG powered models. If it delivers, Roxettes will join Innoson and a handful of other local firms attempting to prove that Nigerian-made vehicles can go beyond nostalgia and meet modern mobility needs.

Roxettes emerged publicly in 2023 and 2024 as part of a wave of Nigerian firms pitching made in Nigeria vehicles that mix conventional engines with greener options such as electric, hybrid and CNG.
The company’s campus, the self-styled Eco Drives Green Metropolis (EDGM) in Obu-Aku, is described on its site as a Free Trade Zone style industrial city intended to host assembly and conversion lines.
Roxettes’ public rollout accelerated in 2024 when the firm announced plans for an assembly capacity of roughly 40,000 units per year, with a large share earmarked for EVs and CNG vehicles.

At the centre of Roxettes is Arc Dr Kaycee (Kelechi) Orji, identified in company materials and professional profiles as the founder and CEO.
He is presented publicly as an industrialist, architect and humanitarian who has championed the Abia plant as both an economic investment and a regional jobs engine.
He is also associated with KKH Group, a firm involved in engineering and sustainable infrastructure development.
Local media reports and company releases show Roxettes engaging state institutions, for example delivering fleet vans to the Abia State House of Assembly and making donations to development bodies, as it builds local legitimacy.

Roxettes’ public showroom and press pieces list multiple model names and body styles, mixing passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.
The lineup promoted in 2024 and 2025 includes names such as Blaze X, a pickup or van variant heavily marketed for commercial fleets, Aero U75 Plus, Surge X, Lumen vx7 and the upscale Volta X.
The company also advertises a CNG conversion capability, a potentially important product in Nigeria given the high cost of petrol and strong local interest in gas conversions. Roxettes’ website and social feeds show product photos, factory addresses and booking or test drive options.

Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) is the best known indigenous automaker in Nigeria and has been publicly developing and marketing EV models since 2024.
Innoson’s EVs, for example the IVM EX02 and a family of IVM Link variants, have been promoted with claimed ranges in the 200 to 400 km band depending on model, and with an emphasis on compact, city-friendly packaging.
That company’s brand has a longer track record in bus and utility vehicle manufacturing and is therefore often seen as the benchmark for local industrial credibility.

Roxettes’ positioning is slightly different. Its public messaging stresses a mix of EV, hybrid and CNG options and a high annual throughput of 40,000 units, an ambitious number that, if realised, would require a rapid scaling of supply chains, workforce and after sales infrastructure.
Innoson, by contrast, has leaned into incremental EV releases backed by an existing manufacturing base, which may give it a practical edge in supply chain depth and consumer trust even as Roxettes attempts to win market share with competitive pricing and fleet deals. In short, Innoson may currently have the edge in brand familiarity and demonstrated EV specs, while Roxettes is positioning on volume, variety in CNG and EV, and an Abia-based industrial campus.

A functioning assembly plant that reaches scale will create direct jobs on the factory floor and indirect roles in parts suppliers, logistics and services in Abia and surrounding states. That kind of industrial activity is exactly what policymakers have chased for decades.
If Roxettes succeeds at local assembly and partial localisation of parts, some models, especially light commercial vehicles like the Blaze X, could undercut fully imported alternatives on price and servicing costs.
CNG conversions could also reduce running costs for high mileage operators.
Having a domestic player focused on multiple powertrains such as EV, hybrid and CNG gives consumers options and forces competitors to improve value and after sales support.

However, the most immediate and glaring challenge for any EV push in Nigeria is power. Regular, reliable electricity is still a problem in many cities and nearly universal in rural areas only via generators.
EV adoption requires charging networks, dependable mains power or hybrid business models such as battery swap and solar-assisted charging.
Without robust public and private investment in charging stations and stable grid power, EV ownership could mean expensive home charging upgrades or heavy reliance on diesel generators, which defeats much of the environmental argument.
This is a practical barrier Roxettes and competitors must confront.

Industry observers argue that part of Roxettes’ long-term success may lie in developing a network of public charging stations across the country.
Plans are reportedly underway to work with energy partners and state governments to build solar-powered charging hubs in major cities such as Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, Port Harcourt and Aba.
These stations, according to insiders close to the company, could serve both individual owners and fleet operators, allowing drivers to recharge vehicles in under an hour.
If successfully deployed, this network would not only boost confidence in owning EVs but also position Roxettes as the first Nigerian automaker to integrate nationwide charging solutions with vehicle production.

Such charging units, if placed strategically in public spaces, malls, highways, motor parks and petrol stations, could transform the perception of electric vehicles in Nigeria from luxury items to accessible means of transport. It could also reduce range anxiety, one of the biggest fears among potential EV buyers.
Moreover, Roxettes is said to be exploring partnerships with independent power providers to create standalone solar and battery-powered charging units, particularly in areas with unreliable grid electricity.

There is supply chain dependence on imported battery cells, semiconductors and critical EV components that can drive up costs and complicate timelines.
Affordability gaps are another issue, as EVs typically carry higher upfront costs than conventional cars; without subsidies or financing innovation, take-up may be limited to wealthier buyers or fleets.
There is also the question of after sales and safety standards; to compete with imports, Roxettes must build credible service networks, parts availability and quality control at scale.

Roxettes’ next big tests are operational, meeting its claimed capacity ambitions, proving the reliability and range of its EVs in Nigerian conditions, and building credible after sales support.
The company’s ties with state authorities and donations of fleet vehicles suggest a strategy of public sector anchoring, a pragmatic way to build initial volume.
But long-term success will hinge on tackling electricity and infrastructure gaps, managing imported components, and convincing ordinary Nigerians that a locally made EV is practical, affordable and serviceable.

For now, Roxettes is a headline-worthy addition to Nigeria’s small but growing cluster of indigenous vehicle makers. It is ambitious, regionally rooted and product diverse, and its fate will say a lot about whether Nigeria can convert manufacturing promises into durable industrial outcomes in the green mobility era.
The possibility of having Roxettes charging units in many parts of the country might just make the dream of sustainable, Nigerian-made mobility a reality sooner than expected.

I’m Seeking Forgiveness for Nigeria: Peter Obi Runs To Pope With Nigerian Problems

Former Nigerian presidential candidate Peter Obi has concluded a spiritual and diplomatic journey to the United States and Rome, dedicating his travels to seeking forgiveness and divine intervention for Nigeria’s challenges. In a heartfelt statement, Obi detailed his activities, which combined advocacy for Nigeria’s youth and a profound pilgrimage during the Catholic Church’s Jubilee Year.

Obi’s journey began in the United States, where he addressed the Friendship Club on October 4 and spoke at the inaugural Ubuntu African Youth Assembly in Washington, D.C., on October 5.

That same night, he departed for Rome, joining his wife for a pilgrimage focused on Nigeria’s unity and healing. “This Jubilee Year, celebrated every twenty-five years, was an opportunity for my wife and me to dedicate our prayers to Nigeria,” Obi said, expressing gratitude for the nation’s endurance despite its challenges over 65 years of independence.

In Rome, Obi and his wife embarked on a spiritual journey through three of the four major Papal Basilicas. On October 7, they passed through the Holy Doors at St. Mary Major, St. Paul Outside the Walls, and St. John Lateran, praying for God’s mercy on Nigeria.

At St. Paul Outside the Walls, Cardinal James Harvey welcomed them, sharing insights into the basilica’s history and the significance of the Jubilee Year. The couple also visited the Scala Sancta, the sacred steps associated with Jesus’ trial before Pontius Pilate, where they prayed with reverence.

On October 8, Obi attended the Papal General Audience at St. Peter’s Basilica, where he heard Pope Leo XIV’s catechesis on hope and perseverance. Passing through the final Holy Door at St. Peter’s, Obi completed the pilgrimage, later meeting with the Pope to appeal for prayers for Nigeria.

“We humbly sought His Holiness’s prayers for our beloved country,” Obi said, noting encounters with Nigerian pilgrims whose faith inspired hope.

Obi’s prayers focused on seeking forgiveness for Nigeria’s “national transgressions” and imploring God to raise selfless, competent leaders committed to the common good. “We prayed for leaders whose hearts God would touch—truthful, altruistic, and dedicated to the welfare of all,” he said.

While emphasizing the power of prayer, Obi stressed that faith must be paired with action. “As Nigerians, we must each continue to do our part—with honesty, diligence, and love—for the healing and progress of our country,” he said, reiterating his belief that “a new Nigeria is POssible.”

Obi’s journey underscores his ongoing commitment to Nigeria’s renewal, blending spiritual reflection with a call for collective responsibility. As the nation grapples with economic and political challenges, his message resonates with those seeking hope and transformation.

PoliticsRe: Breaking: Anglican Church In Nigeria Pulls Out Of Church Of England. by Masterstroke4: 10:04pm On Oct 07, 2025
tommy589:
See me wondering how many times are they pulling out. It is now known as Church of Nigeria (Anglican)
The Church of Nigeria cited two main reasons for pulling out from the Church of England

1. Opposition to Same-Sex Marriage:
The Nigerian Church strongly disagrees with Bishop Mullally's support for same-sex marriage, viewing it as a moral decline within the Anglican Communion. In 2023, the Church of England voted to approve blessings for same-sex couples, a decision Bishop Mullally described as "a moment of hope" for the Church.

2. Objection to Female Headship:
The Church of Nigeria also expressed concerns about Bishop Mullally's elevation as the first female Archbishop of Canterbury, stating that it disregards the conviction of many Anglicans who cannot accept female headship in the episcopate.

Enugu Air To Add Six Aircraft By End Of 2025 – Governor Mbah.

Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) “Meet The Governor Series” in Lagos
Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has announced that Enugu Air will take delivery of six new aircraft by the end of 2025.

He made the announcement on Thursday during the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) “Meet The Governor Series” in Lagos, according to a statement by his spokesperson on X.

The expansion is part of Enugu’s plan to grow its aviation sector, enhance connectivity, boost tourism, and attract investment.

The governor said the state partnered with an investor to concession Akanu Ibiam International Airport, which is being upgraded with an international wing and a cargo terminal expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2026.

Mbah added that the additional aircraft, arriving ahead of the Christmas season, reflect Enugu Air’s rapid growth, having surpassed projections within its first month of operation.

“Our plan is to bring in three million visitors. So, we worked with an investor to get the concession of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport. Hopefully, the international wing of the airport will be operational by the first quarter of 2026.

“We are also investing in building the cargo terminal. We are looking at bringing in an additional six aircraft for Enugu Air for the Christmas season. We are obviously going to expand very quickly because we have surpassed our projections within one month of operation,” he said.

Mbah noted that the aviation expansion is complemented by ongoing improvements in security and infrastructure, with crime in the state reportedly down by over 80%, creating a safer environment for businesses and tourists.

The governor also noted that the state is pursuing a broader strategy to position Enugu as a business and tourism hub.

He highlighted coal-to-power projects designed to generate 1,000 megawatts of electricity using the state’s low-sulphur coal, saying this would make energy generation more sustainable and prevent coal from becoming a stranded asset.

He added that the state is investing in tourism infrastructure. The Enugu International Conference Centre recently hosted 20,000 participants during the 2025 Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference, while a five-star hotel and the Cross of Hope religious tourism landmark are nearing completion.

Enugu State Partners with Songhai, Tribu Seal N100 Billion Deal To Revive Heneke Farm

Enugu State government has signed a landmark N100 billion joint venture agreement with Songhai Sustainable Initiative and Tribu Limited to rehabilitate and transform the dormant Heneke Integrated Farm into a world-class agro-industrial hub.

This deal was announced in a statement by Dan Nwomeh, Senior Special Assistant to the Enugu State Governor on Media.

“As part of efforts to reposition Enugu State as a hub of agro-industrial excellence, the state government has signed a landmark N100 billion joint venture agreement with Songhai Sustainable Initiative in Nigeria and Tribu Limited for the rehabilitation and transformation of the moribund Heneke Integrated Farm into a world-class agro-industrial hub,” he stated.

The deal establishes Enugu Tribu Songhai Farms Ltd, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to oversee the project on a sprawling 10,000 hectares of land in Ezeagu Local Government Area.

During the signing at Government House, Enugu, Governor Peter Mbah, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, described the agreement as a major milestone in the state’s efforts to industrialise agriculture.

“Today, we formalise a partnership that will breathe new life into the Enugu Songhai Initiative, transform abandoned assets into thriving agro-industrial hubs, and advance food security, regenerative development, and inclusive growth for Ndi Enugu,” he said.

The Heneke farm was originally established in 2013 but left incomplete; the farm is set to become a multi-sectoral ecosystem integrating crop production, livestock, aquaculture, processing plants, renewable energy systems, and eco-tourism facilities.

The project will not only rehabilitate 10,000 hectares with secured land titles but also establish a 25-hectare training and incubation centre for youth and women.
It is expected to create thousands of jobs across agriculture, processing, and export value chains while promoting modern, sustainable farming practices.
Governor Mbah emphasised that a robust governance framework will ensure transparency, compliance, and protection of state interests.
Hon. Patrick Ubru, Commissioner for Agriculture and Agro-Industrialisation, said the project will be sustainable and transformative:

“We have the land, water, good soil, and the right people. This initiative will create thousands of jobs, boost food production, and change the mindset of our people towards agriculture.

It is going to be an integrated system of crop, livestock, aquaculture, processing, export, and ecotourism driven by the community, private sector, and government,” Ubru said.

Prof. Godfrey Nzamujo of Songhai Sustainable Initiative pledged technical support for the project, emphasising integrated farming that combines crops, livestock, aquaculture, renewable energy, and human capital development, while encouraging youth to view agriculture as a viable career.

Ozor Silas Nnamdi, CEO of Tribu Limited, stated that the state is going to build one of the best Songhai resorts in Africa and noted that it is a shame Nigeria still imports what it eats.

The state government recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lion Business Park Limited to develop a world-class industrial and commercial hub within the Enugu Industrial Park Free Trade Zone to elevate Enugu’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from $4.4 billion to $30 billion.

The initiative is set to promote human capital development, stimulate innovation, and create employment opportunities, contributing to shared economic prosperity for Enugu State, the South-East region, and Nigeria as a whole.
The industrial hub is strategically located three hours from Onne Sea Port in Rivers State, less than two hours from Asaba in Delta State, and less than 25 minutes from Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu.

PoliticsGov. Mbah: Enugu To Generate 1,000MW Electricity From Coal. by Masterstroke4(op): 10:10am On Sep 19, 2025
NBCC President: “Enugu a state on the move, witnessing infrastructural expansion under Mbah.

Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, has declared that coal deposits in the state would be used to generate 1,000mw of power, and would not be treated as a stranded asset without adequate compensation.

Mbah explained that coal deposits in the state have about 0.5 sulphuric content, saying he was counting technology to make the impact of coal utilisation on the environment minimal.

Mbah made these declarations Thursday in Lagos when he was the guest of the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) “Meet The Governor Series,” where he presented a business case for investing in Enugu State.

He said: “We cannot treat our coal as a stranded asset, particularly the Enugu coal, which is a premium coal.

“Our target is to see how we can use our coal to generate at least 1000 megawatts of power. We do have technology today that makes coal utilisation less adverse to the environment. Essentially, that is the direction for us.

“Coal deposits in Enugu have less than 0.5 per cent sulphur content. For a lot of coal, if you have 1.0 per cent you are still okay. But we have 0.5 per cent.

“Our coal is also very good to fire power plants due to its high calorific value. So, we are on that and we are not going to warehouse our coal resources.

“However, if we have to warehouse or treat coal as a stranded asset, then there has to be a conversation on compensation.”

Mbah also said that his administration had cut crime rate in the state by 80 per cent and was putting infrastructure in place to attract three million visitors per year.

“Businesses are not designed to absorb security challenges. So, we have to get that out of the way. That is why we invested hugely in the area of security to build infrastructures that will enable us to defeat criminal activities.

“Today, in Enugu we have reduced crime rate by over 80 per cent,” he said.

Mbah revealed that in furtherance of tourism contribution to the state’s economy, he completed the Enugu International Conference Centre, ICC, that hosted 20,000 participants during the the 2025 Nigerian Bar Association’s Annual General Conference, while the ICC 5-Star Hotel was nearing completion and would be delivered soon.

“Enugu naturally lends itself to tourism. We are building the Cross of Hope, which is something we want to put in place to attract religious tourism.

“The highest point in Enugu State is about 580 metre above sea level and we are bringing a massive cross of about 100 metres to put on its highest point.

“Our plan is to bring in three million visitors. So, we worked with an investor to get the concenssioning of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport.

“Hopefully, the international wing of the airport will be operational by the first quarter of 2026. We are also investing to build the cargo terminal.

“We are looking at bringing in additional six aircraft for Enugu Air for the Christmas season. We are obviously going to expand very quickly because we have surpassed our projections within one month of operation,” he said.

The governor added that the state would have four branded hotels by the end of next year. “If you are expecting three million visitors hotels will be on huge demand,” he said.

The President of NBCC, Mr. Abimbola Olashore, in his welcome address, said that the timing of the “Meet The Governor Series” could not have been more fitting because Enugu had become a state on the move under Mbah’s administration.

“We have seen bold steps in digital governance, in infrastructure expansion, and in creative public-private partnerships.

“Each of these signals a state that is not waiting for the future, but actively shaping it.”

Meanwhile, speaking, the British Deputy High Commissioner, Mr. Jonny Baxter, said the United Kingdom (UK) and Nigeria share a dynamic, long-standing and multi-dimensional trade relationship that is currently valued at £7.9 billion, the highest figure since records began and which continues to increase every year.

Baxter added that the United Kingdom is currently the biggest investor in Nigeria, accounting for about 65 per cent of all foreign direct investment (FDIs) flows into Nigeria. He described it as a demonstration of the depth of commitment based on historic ties.

“Nigeria is also the United Kingdom’s second largest trading partner in Africa and its largest export market, and in February 2024, we signed something called the Enhanced Trade and Investment Partnership, which is about trying to make trade smoother between our two countries.

“It is the first of its kind that we have signed with an African country, and in fact it is the second globally, the first being with India, and you have seen where the trade relationship between the United Kingdom and India has gone. So, we certainly hope for the same sort of trajectory between us and Nigeria.”

PoliticsPiracy: Two Nigerians To Face Jail Terms In Liberia For Hijacking Cargo Ship by Masterstroke4(op): 11:29am On Sep 16, 2025
Monrovia-Criminal Court ‘D’ Resident Judge, Her Honor Mameita Jabateh-Sirleaf, is expected to rule in Libera’s first-ever piracy case involving two Nigerian nationals this week.

The suspects are accused of hijacking a commercial vessel on the high seas, a crime that has drawn both national and international attention.

According to court documents, the accused were arrested and brought to Liberia after reportedly hijacking a Liberia-flagged cargo ship earlier this year.

Liberia's news publication Front Page Africa, said the vessel, which was transporting goods through the Gulf of Guinea, was intercepted by international maritime forces following a distress signal sent by the ship’s crew.

The suspects were later turned over to Liberian authorities under maritime cooperation protocols, as the hijacked ship was registered under the Liberian flag, giving Liberia legal jurisdiction under international law.

This case marks a moment in Liberia’s legal and maritime enforcement history.

Although Liberia has one of the largest open ship registries in the world, actual piracy cases prosecuted within its domestic courts are unprecedented

Prosecuting foreign nationals for piracy in Liberia sets a precedent for how the country intends to enforce maritime laws and safeguard international maritime commerce under its flag.

Legal analysts suggest that the court’s handling of this case could influence Liberia’s standing as a responsible maritime nation.

The trial took a dramatic turn on Monday, when defense counsel, Cllr. Bestman Juah, informed the court that his clients have admitted to the crime and are seeking a plea-bargaining arrangement.

State prosecutors, in a move signalling possible leniency, raised no objection to the plea deal.
The plea deal, if accepted, could result in reduced sentences in exchange for full confessions and cooperation with authorities.

Criminal Court ‘D’ primarily handles armed robbery, hijacking, terrorism, and now, increasingly, transnational crimes such as piracy.

Judge Jabateh-Sirleaf’s forthcoming ruling could determine sentencing, formal acceptance of the plea bargain, and recommendations for possible deportation following incarceration.

As of press time, no official date has been announced for sentencing.

This case underscores the growing complexity of transnational crimes in West Africa and the evolving role of national courts in addressing crimes committed far beyond territorial waters.

Politics2027: Step Down For Peter Obi, Obidients Beg Goodluck Jonathan by Masterstroke4(op): 4:36am On Sep 13, 2025
OBIdients (supporters of Peter Obi) have appealed to former President Goodluck Jonathan to support their principal instead of contesting against him in the 2027 presidential election.

This comes after Obi and Jonathan held a closed-door meeting on Thursday.

Obi posted pictures of himself and the former president on his X handle, describing Jonathan as “a very dear elder brother, statesman, and leader”. He added that their discussion centred on the state of the nation.

Although it is being speculated that he will contest the 2027 presidential election, Jonathan has yet to make a public pronouncement on the issue.

OBIdients have, however, urged the former President to step aside for Obi in the interest of fairness and national progress.

The National Coordinator of the OBIdient Movement, Dr Yunusa Tanko, said while both men are respected leaders, Obi remains the preferred choice of millions of Nigerians seeking a new direction.

They have been friends for a long time. The meeting was for them to fraternise and discuss how to rescue Nigeria. But for us in the Obidient Movement, it would be great if Jonathan remains the respected statesman he is known for. He has done his best as President, he is respected, and this is the time for him to support his brother,” Tanko said.

Politics2027: Details Of Jonathan, Peter Obi Meeting Emerge by Masterstroke4(op): 4:18am On Sep 13, 2025
Details have emerged regarding the recent closed-door meeting between former President Goodluck Jonathan and former presidential candidate Peter Obi.

The two leaders are reportedly discussing strategies for a unified front in the 2027 presidential election.

TRIBUNE ONLINE reports that the meeting took place on Thursday, with Obi disclosing insights about the engagement on his Facebook and X accounts.

The meeting was a continuation of previous conversations between the two leaders over strategies for the 2027 race.

The National Coordinator of the OBIdient Movement, Dr Yunusa Tanko, confirmed this in a statement on Friday.

“They (Jonathan and Obi) have been friends for a long time. The meeting was for them to fraternise and discuss how to rescue Nigeria.

“But for us in the OBIdient Movement, it would be great if Jonathan remains the respected statesman he is known for. He has done his best as President, he is respected, and this is the time for him to support his brother,” Tanko told Daily Trust.

Tanko further alleged that some politicians were plotting to use Jonathan against Obi but maintained that the Obidient Movement would not allow such a plan to succeed.

“We are aware of such moves, but we strongly believe they will not succeed.

“Many Nigerians believe the next president should come from the South, and for fairness, the South East should get the chance. Peter Obi is the ideal candidate,” he added.

INEC Publishes Names Of Authentic Leaders Of ADC

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has approved the executive of the African Democratic Party, ADC.

The electoral umpire on its official website confirmed David Mark as the party’s National Chairman.

Others are the National Secretary, a position held by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Mani, Ibrahim Ahmad is the National Treasurer of the party while Akibu Dalhatu serves as the
National Financial Secretary.

The National Legal Adviser of the ADC is Prof. Oserheimen Aigberaodion Osunbor.

Recall that following the decision of the coalition of political leaders to use the ADC as its vehicle for the 2027 general elections, a faction of the party had resisted the move, insisting they were the original owners of the party.

According to them, the likes of David Mark, Aregbesola and others were not duly registered members of the party and had no right to lay claims to the party.

Now INEC have gone on to recognize the David Mark led faction of the party and published its executives as the authentic leadership of the party.
