Is this the almighty Abiokuta? Yorubas should please, stop making noise about Lagos if this how Abiokuta looks. A city that has been on from imemorial and never suffered any civil war. Next time any Yoruba makes noise or boast about anything again near me, i will just close my nose with my hands and walk away, as what they have got are dirty noise. |
If at all, the supreme court sustains his criminal selection and the rape of democracy perpetuated by Inec, then Nigerian should get ready for TAX HELL as it is in lagos. Because that is the only thing he knows and good at -Increment in tax systems motivated by stealing. People who deosnt know Lagos, people living in Oshogbo, abiokuta and Kwara are shouting Lagos, but they dont know what people are passing through in Lagos, courtesy of him. If at all, Nigerians should brace up for difficult times in all trials, with sophisticated and unsatiable excusses. |

This your post made me LOL! But let me help small. Nigerian politicians are very selfish, corrupt and eccessively avaricious. Igbo President may not even favour the Igbos more. What the Igbos want is a country govern on the basis fairness, justice and equity. And that is what the Yoruba and Northern Muslims do not want. |
Akpabio To Drop Senate Presidency Ambition, Lobby Tinubu For ‘Juicy’ Ministerial Position Strong indication has emerged that former Akwa Ibom State Governor, Senator Godswill Akpabio, may have dropped his ambition to run for Senate President of the 10th National Assembly. It was gathered that Akpabio may have decided to pursue a ministerial appointment in the cabinet of the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with his eye on a return to the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs or the Petroleum Resources Ministry. Recall that Akpabio, a former Senate Minority Leader, had resigned as Niger Delta Affairs Minister from the present administration following the provision of section 84 (12) of the Electoral Act of 2022 to contest the presidential primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Reliable sources told Vanguard that Akpabio dropped his Senate Presidency ambition because of the decision of the ruling APC to zone the position to the South-East, with an announcement for the zoning arrangements of all the presiding and principal offices both in the Senate and the House expected soon. Some of the contenders for the President of the Senate included a former Governor of Abia State and current Chief Whip, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, Senators Jibrin Barau (APC, Kano North); Sani Musa (APC, Niger East), Ali Ndume (APC, Borno South). Also speculated to be on the list against the ranking standing rule are the former Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari (APC, Zamfara West); the outgoing Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi (APC, Ebonyi South), and a former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole (APC, Edo North). Lobbying Tinubu But Akpabio has reportedly told his loyalists and aides to tone down their campaign for his senate presidential ambition in the media to soften the ground to achieve his ministerial reappointment in Tinubu’s cabinet. According to a source, Akpabio has begun reaching out to Tinubu directly to lobby for a ministerial slot. The source said: “To avoid losing out, Akpabio has since begun reaching out to Bola Tinubu personally and through his allies to return to any of the plum ministries which appears to be more favourable to the former two-time Governor when compared to the Senate President position. His chances are very dim, and he knows this, our Party and the President-Elect are committed to forming a Government of National unity and quell restiveness in geo-political zones in the country, beginning with the Southeast by giving them the opportunity to produce the next Senate President.” |
Former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, Alhaja Sinatu Ojikutu, has vowed to renounce her citizenship of the country if Bola Tinubu is sworn in as President. Ojikutu, who is the first female deputy governor in Nigeria served from 1992 to 1993. She was the deputy governor to Michael Otedola until the military takeover of 1993. SaharaReporters had reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the former Lagos Governor and the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Tinubu, as the ‘winner’ of the February 25 presidential election. According to INEC, Tinubu polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar who polled 6,984,520 votes. The Labour Party candidate and former Anambra governor, Mr Peter Obi polled 6,101,533 votes to come third. Since the election, there has been an outcry by members of the opposition who said the election was marred by irregularities. They argued that the results do not reflect the wish of the majority of Nigerians. Meanwhile, the PDP, Labour Party and their candidates have filed suits to challenge Tinubu’s victory. However, addressing journalists in Lagos on Wednesday, Ojikutu said she had directed her lawyers to start working on how she would renounce Nigerian citizenship should Tinubu be sworn in as President on May 29, 2023. She said she supports the Labour Party’s Peter Obi, adding that her life was not safe, Daily Independent reports. She said when she “heard Tinubu was asking if I am still alive, I had to cry out”. “I will also say that if anything happens to me, he should be held responsible,” she added. “I said it in one of my posts and I am saying it again that if anything happens to me, Bola Tinubu and his cohorts will be held responsible. Ojikutu said she hoped to “get the citizenship of a nation that I can be happy in because corruption is endemic in this country”. She said she was ashamed to call herself a former public officer, adding that “people are lobbying to occupy ministerial and other appointments”. “Nigeria is in a hopeless situation and when I heard Peter Obi speaking, I had no choice but to support him. Again, I am one of those who believe that it is time for the South-East to get the presidency. If we say we want to remain one Nigeria then we have to take equity into consideration. "You cannot say that you are one Nigeria and you are suppressing a particular region. You don’t want them to get the presidency shot. If you don’t want them as number one, let them go. If you don’t want them to go, then give them the chance to be number one,” she said. https://saharareporters.com/2023/04/12/former-lagos-deputy-governor-ojikutu-vows-renounce-nigerian-citizenship-if-tinubu |

As the plot to hijack the Labour Party gathers momentum in the country, Peter Obi’s traducers have orchestrated a sinister plot to rope him in shady criminal activities in London, the Obi-Datti Media office has alleged. The latest plot emerges following the revelation by the United Kingdom Immigration Service that the Labour Party Presidential Candidate is being impersonated in the United Kingdom by unknown person(s). Peter Obi, just back from London, United Kingdom where he celebrated Easter, has confirmed that he was harassed by London immigration officials and placed in detention but for the spontaneous reaction of Nigerians at Heathrow Airport. Confirming the alarming development, Diran Onifade, Head, Obi-Datti Media said the LP candidate in the February 25 Presidential poll arrived the Heathrow Airport in London from Nigeria on Good Friday, April 7, 2023, and was unusually harassed by immigration in a country he had previously lived for over ten years. The unassuming politician, according to a statement from the Obi-Datti Media office, had on arrival, joined the queue for the necessary Airport protocols when he was accosted by an immigration official who handed him a detention note and told him to step aside. He was questioned for a long time and it was very strange for a man who lived for over a decade in that country. “Since Obi’s face was already an international frame, especially for Nigerians, Africans home, and in Diaspora who are likely to be Obidients, the people quickly raised their voices wondering why he was being delayed. “The immigration officials who were also taken aback at the reaction of the people were forced to reveal that Obi was being questioned for a DUPLiCATION offense meaning that someone has been impersonating him in London. “The high implication of the offense is that the impersonator could be committing all kinds of weighty crimes and other dubious acts and it would be recorded in Obi’s name. “Since the impersonator is still at large, the scenario is unimaginable as Obi could be implicated in a series of forbidden acts and even be framed in a manner that could be a huge embarrassment to him, his family, his party, the Obidient Movement, and indeed Nigeria, where he currently and indisputably remains the conscience of the people”. Since he opted to challenge the February 25th, 2023 Presidential election in the court pf law, the Obi -Datti Media office notes that the Labour Party standard bearer has come under all manner of attacks. “He (Obi) put up an outstanding showing coming third out of 18 contestants as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, even though his supporters and many other election watchers including international observers believe very strongly that he won the election but was manipulated out. “Since he was told to go to court if he feels strongly about the election which all international monitors chorused were flawed and full of imperfections and he accepted, there have been severe attacks on him from all corners. “Even Federal Government who directed him to go to court even despatched the Minister of Information Lai Mohammad to the United States to attempt at de-marketing him and accused him of treason. “Obi’s telephone line was also bugged when they were possibly looking for information to portray him badly before a section of the country who had voted for him massively. “As if they were not getting the desired results of denting his image, and possibly placing the traducers under a heavier conscience load, they tried to persuade him to leave the country and go take a rest. “It’s also not impossible that those urging him to leave the country may have planted the impersonators ostensibly to tar the Eagle’s immaculate appearance”. Against the orchestrations, the Obi-Datti Media office has therefore assured all persons of goodwill especially the Obidients that no amount plot will make the party back down “The Rock is not deterred as he is ready to suffer the pain and remain even more determined to pursue whichever path his creator destined for him in Nigeria. “Finally, let it be known that In the face of the flurry of unwarranted attacks and cogs being placed in the wheel of rescuing our dear country, Obi strongly believes that a new Nigeria is possible where the people will be able to live in a secure and productive country they will all be proud to own. “Meanwhile, the former Anambra state Governor is back in the country and has continued his charity work visiting health and educational institutions making donations, and bagging awards.” |
Amid the ongoing faceoff between the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council and the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the fallout of the just-concluded elections in Nigeria, a chieftain of the Labour Party (LP) in Enugu, Ambassador Fidel Ayogu has come out to accuse the ruling party of attempting to smear his candidate who is known to be a politician without blemish. Speaking during an interview with The SUN a few hours ago, Ayogu, who is a former Nigerian envoy to Uganda and Ethiopia, alleged that despite its candidate being declared the winner of the February 25 presidential election by INEC, the APC has continued to churn out one propaganda after another against Obi, insisting that the ruling party is feeling threatened by the petition the Labour Party flag bearer has filed in court to challenge the outcome of the polls. Going further, the former Diplomat pointed out that every smear campaign that has been launched against Obi has failed because his integrity has been clear for all to see. He said; "APC knows that they lost the presidential election and the whole card will soon play out on the table of the judiciary and the whole world will know. If you have BVAS and what you uploaded does not correspond with the machine, then your upload is null and void. LP presidential candidate has gone to court to seek redress; you can see the fear that has gripped those that said they won the election. If you know you truly won the election, why are you afraid? Why use cheap blackmail, and propaganda to target a man all Nigerians and the international community knows is integrity personified? He is a subject of humility, and competence, and can deliver. Any effort at running him down amounts to increased electrification of his love in the heart of the people. And the people are watching keenly." |
Basic123:Continue to exhibit your uncouthness. Your tribalism and uncouthness is seeing by everyone. Apart from APC members and again, the Muslims who again is supporting him? You guys are attracting more hatred for him than his personality and more than he can handle to succeed. But alias arrogant ignorants, will you understand? |
I bet you, If supreme court do not nullify the election, Yoruba people will be the ones that will use their hands to distroy Tinubus's goverment. They have started it already by creating enemies for him -from East to North-central to South and accross all christains in the Nation. But who is smart enough to advice them. |
I respect Soyinka for the level he has attianed in litrature. But watch his purpoted activism very well, they are all embeded in attension seeking. |

wahahlawahala:Your scornfulness is natural, stop pretending you love us (Rivers/South-South). It is good you have barred your nature for all to see. You are not smarter than anyone. |
Eniitankorede:I hope you know how the election in Lagos went? That should tell you where the unity of Nigeria lies. Accept it or not, Yorubas are more hated now than ever due to the attitude of the muslems among you. I know two people (Yorubas) that are on suspensions from their department (Same depart) on a flimpsy excuss of coming to work late. But quite understably that it was due to issues of the election. The head of the depart is from a North Central State. You can not treat people bad and expect love from them. Also, a colleague was complaing how a Northern Mopol Okada rider he clambed was lampooning them (Yorubas) because of the election. Unfortunately, that is what you have brought upon yourself. Myself, i used to like the Yorubas, but with this election and they way they have gone and going about it. Every regard i have for them is dead. |
wahahlawahala:Well, you are knwon for courses and rubish talks for other people. But that does not change the situation on ground. Beyond wining on Nairaland here, try to sample the opinion of other people on you currently and know. Continue to chatise your liberals like Faz, Iyabo Ojo and anybody who speaks against your ills and think you are doing yourself any good. For your information, i am from Rivers. |
