PoliticsStay Off Our Internal Politics. by Mastersure(op): 7:23pm On Jul 15, 2023
STAY OF OUR INTERNAL POLITICS:
The sign of illiteracy of a people.

Honestly, why are SOME yorubas seriously out to embarrass the Yoruba race with some benighted statements and lowbrow attitudes.

Statements like this, make one wonders the education of the Yoruba man of today.
Is this a case of ignorant mischievousness or plain illiteracy on those who make this statement not understand the meaning of internal Politics?

How does National conventional politics of electing a head of the state government that involves all qualified citizens of the state becomes an internal politics of a tribe?

There are some attitudes that make mockery of ones knowledge.

I think some Yorubas should stop making mockery of the Yoruba race.

PoliticsNigerians' Again, React And Condemn President Tinubu's Decision To Share N8000. by Mastersure(op): 2:33pm On Jul 13, 2023
According a twit made by Bashir Ahmed -the aid to former President Mohammed Buhari, Nigerian have once again, reacted and condemned President Tinubu's decision to share N8000 to 12million poor families for a period of 6 months as palliative for the current economic hardships.
With many doubting the transpirancy in the means of distribution of the cash.

Ahmed's twit
"President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in a letter to the House of Representatives, said that 12 million families would get N8,000 over a period of six months to ameliorate the hardships faced by Nigerians as a result of subsidy removal. The President said the initiative was aimed at helping poor and vulnerable Nigerians cope with the cost of meeting basic needs"

PoliticsWhy The Court Is Going To INVALIDATE And Order A RERUN Of The Presidential Elect by Mastersure(op): 10:41am On Jul 10, 2023
Why the Court is going to INVALIDATE and order a RERUN of the Presidential Election within 90 days.
====================

1. The Supreme Court has held that Accreditation by BVAS, Results on form EC8A and Voters Register are the three foundations of collation of election results.

2. The Supreme Court equally has held that VERIFICATION of Accreditation, Results on form EC8A is mandatory to assure the integrity of the election process. Please see attached.

3. Also the Supreme Court held that regulations 48(a) and 38(i, ii, iii) provided that results from the Polling Unit must be scanned and transmitted to the electronic collection system and IREV.

4. In addition the Supreme Court held that the VERIFICATION of accreditation number on the INEC hard copy with that on the physical BVAS machine; The results scored by political parties must be VERIFIED with the results scanned and transmitted,at the Polling Unit, onto the electronic collation system and the IREV.

5. INEC Collation system forms the backend of IReV, it is the mirror. In other words INEC collation system is a copy of the IREV viewable only by INEC staff.

6. INEC at the court said it did not use the electronic collation system or IREV for collation.

7. INEC implied it did not verify the results scored by political parties on the hard copy form EC8A with the scanned copies uploaded onto the collation system and the IREV

8. INEC admitted that by the time it declared results only about 31% of the results had been uploaded onto the electronic collation system and the IREV.

9. The IREV shows that results from over 18k are unreadable for reason of not being clear, mutilated, wrong documents etc.

10. Evidences also show that nearly nearly 10k Polling units have no accreditation or incorrect accreditation and subject to cancellation.

11. IREV portal shows that nearly about 10k of the results are yet to be uploaded.

12. From the above a total of about 38K or 22% of the PU units results are either unverifiable or questionable. If one uses average of 500 PVC collected then we talk about 19m disenfranchised voters. If we would take average 100voters per Polling Unit we land at about 4m votes. In either case much more than the margin of lead of 1.8m votes.

13. The courts have only two authorities: (a) To Invalid the election or (b) Change the winner of the election. See section 134 and 136 of the electoral act.

14. The court has no power to declare a runoff between two candidates according to the law. It is for INEC to decide depending on the condition of the outcome of the election.

15. Judging from the position of INEC which is clearly contrary to the law and the enormous verifiable evidences of non-compliance or malpractices, I believe it is safe to expect the courts to ANNUL the Presidential Election and order a complete rerun wherein all the qualified candidates could participate.

16. It is therefore not too soon for various candidates and their parties to start strategising and preparing for the inevitable rerun maybe between Dec, 2023/February 2024.

CrimeThe Case Of Rapes In South-west Nigeria by Mastersure(op): 9:36pm On Jul 08, 2023
The case of rapes and incest in South-West Nigeria have become so alarm.
I have noticed, there is no week that passes by without the report of one case of rape or the other. But what surprises me the most is nobody is talking, everybody seem to be normal with it.

Why are the people so cool with these heavy atrocities and evils?

Since the Mmesoma issue, i personally decided to be quite until what happened is unraveled.
But what surprises me the most is, in this whole brouhaha involving Mmesoma, who is still a juvenile, even when there was no investigation yet, the people were criticizing and calling for her head were the same people who hailed a Militant -Asari Dokubo for using a state house to discredit the Military.

Can Nigeria ever be a sane country?

PoliticsGanduje Leaves Kano With Over N241 Billion Debt - Abba Yusuf by Mastersure(op): 4:25pm On May 30, 2023
The outgoing Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, on Monday handed over to the incoming Governor, Abba Yusuf, alongside N241 billion debt.

The event took place at the Government House, Kano.

In his speech, Mr Ganduje said that his administration collected N1.2 trillion in the last eight years and spent the amount, leaving behind a total of about N241 billion in debt, made up of loans, contractual obligations, and others.

Earlier, Governor-elect Abba Yusuf expressed dismay over the debt profile left for the incoming administration.

“We will carefully study the reports and come out with our position on the debt and other matters. I am surprised that the outgoing governor is not around to hand over to me as a democratically elected governor which has been the tradition.

However, we will carefully study the reports and come out with our positions.

He called on the people of the state to pray for the success of the incoming administration to ensure it met the expectation of the governed through good democratic governance.

PoliticsNigerians Know That Tinubu Was Not The Winner, But I’m Not Surprised By S’ Court by Mastersure(op): 3:03pm On May 28, 2023
According to Vanguard, Femi Falana, Nigeria’s leading human rights lawyer and senior advocate, told SAN he was in no way surprised by the Supreme Court’s ruling, which paved the way for the president-elect’s swearing-in Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, on Monday, May 29.

However, In a statement made by Falana on Saturday which says, all Nigerians know and are aware that the mandate does not belong to Tinubu, I will never be surprised if a court declares him victorious.

Falana explained this in an exclusive interview with our correspondent on Saturday.

Recall that the Supreme Court, in a unanimous decision by a five-member panel, dismissed as unfounded an appeal by the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to challenge Tinubu’s eligibility to run in the February 25 presidential election.

It found that the appeal noted: SC/CV/501/2023, had been lodged in bad faith, and stressed that the PDP, whose candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar came second in the presidential campaign, was deprived of legal standing ( legal right), to challenge a nomination by another political party.

The PDP, in its appeal, had asked the court to annul Tinubu’s candidacy, claiming that vice-president-elect Senator Kashim Shettima had voted for more than one ahead of the 2023 general election.

The court was told that Shettima had been nominated twice, both for the Borno central senator seat and for the position of vice president, but when speaking about the development, Falana noted that he was not surprised, since he knows the federal and appellate courts have dismissed the lawsuit, and the legal luminary said the Supreme Court merely upheld the simultaneous judgment of the two courts.

Falana said, Under the current electoral regime, everyone who has been cleared by INEC and received their certificate of return must be sworn in on May 29. That is the law.[img][/img]

PoliticsShettima Rejects Akpabio, Says South East Can Produce Competent Senate President by Mastersure(op): 2:05pm On May 15, 2023
The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, AYCF, has kicked against the nomination of Godswill Akpabio as the next Senate President.

AYCF National President, Yerima Shettima, said the South East can produce a competent senate president.

Shettima urged the APC to encourage national unity by reviewing Akpabio’s nomination.

”The APC brought a zoning formula and came up with someone from Akwa Ibom and this character, we know him very well. Because it is a party politics, they want to put it to be superior, it is not done anywhere

”APC needs to encourage national unity by demonstrating it. Let them look and their position and review it clearly. They should look at the issue of bankruptcy, debt and agitation from every part of the country and insecurity. We are in a fragile situation,
we cannot afford to collect more debt if not we are finished

”Although, I am of the view that the APC should reconsider positions. The South East is not helping themselves to be part of the national bureau. They need to be nationalistic in their approach.

”I am of the view that the government should encourage unity, we should carry our brother in the South East together,”

PoliticsAn Igboman From Delta Replies Sunday Oliseh. by Mastersure(op): 7:11am On May 06, 2023
ANIOMA IS IGBO-I AM FROM ANIOMA,I AM IGBO:SUNDAY OGOCHUKWU OLISEH DOES NOT SPEAK FOR ME

I cannot pretend not to have read all sorts on this subject. My response to one of such posts on Oliseh, was a response to my friend, Zion Ose. I hope my comment below clarifies the controversy for some of us:

No, no, no. You have mixed up too many things here.

That some Southeast Igbos are condescending to Delta/Western Igbos and some Delta/Western Igbos feel insulted enough by it to no longer identify as Igbos, does not alter the true historical fact of their shared linguistic and cultural heritage.

“A whole Zik of Africa” who hails from Onitsha was called “Yoruba Igbo”, which is what the core Igbo-speaking areas call Anioma/Delta Igbos, but did you ever hear Zik saying he is not Igbo?

I am from Ogwashi-Uku, headquarters of Aniocha South LG,Delta State,I speak a dialect of Igbo language: I AM IGBO.

The same applies to all these other places you have mentioned: Ika, the Agbor area where Abavo is located; the Kwale/Ukwuani people of Ndokwa East and Ndokwa West local governments…

History, not personal sentiment or preference, is a discipline that requires rigorous study and deep reflection, and it is what must guide any discussion of this sort that wishes to be taken seriously by serious-minded people.

I was born in Yorubaland and I speak and read and write the language. I can tell you that Oyo Yoruba is drastically different from Ekiti or Owo or Ijebu Yoruba dialects enough for them not to even understand themselves, but none of the latter has ever disclaimed their shared Yoruba historical, linguistic and cultural heritage.

A while ago,the infamous bungler called Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, who comes from the same Ika LG as Oliseh, wanted everyone to believe that he is Igbo as he flirted with the Southeast Igbos for their votes.

Sunday Oliseh’s case is purely an aberration and he’s entitled to his preference of self-identification, but his preference, whimsical or legitimate, cannot eraze shared communal/historical/and linguistic heritage with the fiat of a personal disclaimer.

He is just a single man out of a community of millions of people that share same bond culturally and historically in a fairly contiguous geographical location.

No one is forcing anyone to belong to any group. Such coercive mantra that you must identify with us by force is not even enforceable.

So, it’s the loony talk by the ignorant.

Even when that is conceded, there is no single individual who can out of personal preference suddenly stand up and wish away or eraze a shared cultural heritage.

It’s not only hubris. It’s stupid!

PoliticsWho Is Afraid Of David Hundeyin? by Mastersure(op): 1:11am On Apr 21, 2023
WHO IS AFRAID OF DAVID HUNDEYIN?? Yes! The irrepressible David Hundeyin is back after the Agbadorians’ failed attempt to permanently take him out of twitter. The man I call The Scourge of the Corrupt can be slowed down for a few days but can’t be stopped.

I celebrate this young investigative journalist for his contributions to the national discuss. If we have just 10 stubborn investigative reporters like him, taking on our politicians on ALL sides, Nigeria will be a better place faster. Most in the 4th estate have sold out to filthy lucre and just can’t stand a man with no staff, no office buildings, and no decades of ‘experience’, coming up with global exclusives practically every month on their paymasters.

We can all disagree sometimes with David’s conclusions, but nobody as yet faulted his research, or facts as stated by him in his exposes, or faulted any documents he always submitted to back up his exclusives as fake.

I think it’s sad that evil doers and their vacuous-minded supporters would want to talk about his personality or alleged bias against politicians of shady character and unknown provenance, rather than argue on the issues raised by him, but that is IRRELEVANT. Let’s all engage him on his articles and his research and his conclusions. Prove him wrong or eat your breakfast and hope he sets his sights on your enemies next.

Welcome back buddy. I wait for your next serving of pepper-soup. Las Las some Nigerians will have sense.
