Scammers only sells essential items and they put a price you can easily part with. So it’s affordable.

Scammer write long epistle during negotiations. It’s a way of trying to convince you

Scammers always have a story to tell, they could complain or rant or make unnecessary explanations

SOLUTIONS
1. Use a reliable escrow
2. Confirm item is with logistics (with receipt) before making payment
3. Ask anyone living in that state or area to meet in person and receive your item.

PS: In as much as there are few people that fits the above description and are not scammers, it’s important to be safe than sorry. Any of the solutions above will help.

I've sold to some people on NL that'll just credit my account while I'm still arranging for a dispatch rider, but some people are just out to tarnish the image of honest online traders. Pls, let's use escrow more to avoid issues such as this. Very pathetic tbh

The fact is you can’t be smart enough to identify an honest seller all the time, one day could be a bad day if you keep trusting people with your money before receiving items. Like you said, an escrow, a reliable escrow is fair enough but instead, for me, I use few trusted declutter online with good enough deals (I know they added their profit too) and if sellers disappoint, I can get full refund.

But here, I appear in person and I don’t do out of state deals. Hehehe
