Whatever deal that will stop Iran from making nuclear weapons will not signed. You have to understand that Iran has proven their point and they will not be bullied...

As a matter of fact Trump has indirectly encouraged Iran to build a nuclear weapons,this will prevent attacks in the near future. USA or any country will want to attack a country that has nuclear weapons... Iran has fully realized and they are now more willing to build one.

Trump or the Republican party will not be in power forever. So any new government that comes into power after Trump will now have a great deal of work to do in order to negotiate Iran from the nuclear power program.....I see this impossible to do

You guys know nothing. Iran will never compromised their enrichment in totality, that's their lifeline and they know well if they commit to total abandonment they are done for it.

They have propose long ago the pause in their enrichment activities for some like 10 years but the felon and Satanyahu refused it demanding more. And the conditions for such pause if for lifting of sanctions.

US President Donald Trump says an agreement with Iran has been "largely negotiated" and details will be announced soon.

The deal would include the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, he said on Saturday, without giving further details.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei earlier told state television that US and Iranian positions had been converging in the last week, but warned that did not mean agreements would be reached on key issues and accused the Americans of "contradictory statements".

On social media, Trump said he had a "very good call" with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and others about a "Memorandum of Understanding pertaining to PEACE".

"An agreement has been largely negotiated, subject to finalization between the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the various other Countries, as listed," Trump said.

"Final aspects and details of the deal are currently being discussed, and will be announced shortly."

He also said he had a call on Saturday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which "went very well".

The president has not given any further details on the deal, but has insisted any agreement would "absolutely" prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

The US and Israel launched wide-ranging strikes on Iran on 28 February, sparking conflict across the Middle East. Iran responded by launching attacks on Israel and US-allied states in the Gulf.

A ceasefire in Iran was agreed in early April, and since then Washington and Tehran have engaged in talks over a long-term peace deal.

Speaking to state television on Saturday, Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei also described a "memorandum of understanding", saying Iran's intention was to reach an agreement "in the form of a framework, consisting of 14 points".

Baqaei said they were in the process of finalising the memorandum, so further talks could be held within 30 to 60 days "and ultimately a final agreement can be reached".

Two people have been wounded in a shooting near the White House, including a suspect and possible bystander, law enforcement sources tell the BBC's US partner CBS News

At around 18:00 local time (23:00 GMT), a volley of gunfire was heard by multiple journalists who were present at the White House.

Members of the Secret Service ushered them inside the building to the press briefing room, and the White House was placed under lockdown.

Sources told CBS News, the BBC's US partner, that between 15 and 30 gunshots were fired, and that it appeared to be a single gunman who had approached Secret Service agents and shot at them unsuccessfully. Those agents then returned fire.

US media has since reported that two people were wounded in the shooting, and both have been taken to hospital. CBS reports that one of those people is the suspect, who they say is in critical condition, and the other is a possible bystander.

The lockdown at the White House was then lifted at 19:00 local time (00:00 GMT).

We have not yet heard anything from President Donald Trump, who was in residence at the White House at the time of the shooting. It comes just one month after a gunman opened fire at the White House Correspondents Dinner.

Sources say it appears a person shot at Secret Service agents unsuccessfully, and the agents returned fire.

Several Secret Service agents were evaluated at the scene, but none of them were deemed to need hospital treatment.
