Christianity EtcPope Leo Visits Great Mosque Of Algiers, Removes Shoes by Mattswaggz(op): 6:55pm On Apr 13
Pope Leo on Monday visited the Great Mosque of Algiers, often referred to as the “Mosque of Algeria”, as part of his 11-day tour of Africa.

According to EWTN Vatican, upon entering the mosque, which is home to the world’s highest minaret, the Pope removed his shoes as a gesture of respect.

At the mosque, Pope Leo reportedly highlighted the site’s spiritual significance and paused in silent meditation.

“Welcomed by the Rector of the Mosque, Mohamed Mamoun al Qasim, who offered words of fraternity, the Pope said.

The Grand Mosque of Algiers is reportedly the third-largest mosque in the world, capable of accommodating up to 120,000 worshippers.

The US are always hijacking and seizing ships on international waters. It's high time the world stops that nonsense.

It's the same with High way robbery

I didn't know that the Iranian army are very good comedians if not what's this.......it was all fun when they were blocking the straits from US and her allies but now that they're about to be beaten in their own game they're crying foul.....funny enough they're still blocking the strait while cracking the comedy. grin .

The US restrictions on maritime navigation and transit in international waters are illegal, Iranian military says.

The Iranian military says an announced naval blockade on vessels by the United States in international waters would be illegal and amount to piracy, warning that no Gulf ports would be safe if its own were threatened.

The US military said it would begin a blockade of all Iranian ports on Monday at 14:00 GMT, after talks between the warring sides in Pakistan collapsed.

If China somehow decides to go ahead with the plan then global economy could suffer immensely from the ripple effects of this conflict.....no fear of world war though as it is now but y'all should brace up for potential economic instability and countries like Nigeria that are import dependent could be affected.
Foreign AffairsTrump Warns China Of "Big Problems" Over Potential Military Support To Iran. by Mattswaggz(op): 10:18am On Apr 13
President Donald Trump warned that China would face serious consequences if it supplies weapons to Iran amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

“If China does that, China is gonna have big problems,” Trump told reporters on Saturday afternoon while leaving the White House to travel to Miami.

The president's comments follow a CNN report, citing three people familiar with recent intelligence assessments, that Beijing is preparing to ship air-defense systems to Tehran in the next few weeks.

WHY IT MATTERS:- The prospect of China directly transferring weapons to Iran during the ongoing regional conflict risks deepening the war and triggering broader geopolitical consequences, particularly for U.S.–China relations already strained by trade disputes, military tensions, and the war in Iran.

Any confirmed transfer of Chinese weapons would mark a new level of involvement by Beijing in the conflict and could undermine diplomatic efforts aimed at extending a fragile ceasefire. It would also put Trump in a delicate position ahead of a visit to China planned for mid-May.

Foreign AffairsCuba President Díaz-Canel Talks Tough About Trump As Nation Braces For US Attack by Mattswaggz(op): 9:59am On Apr 13
Cuba president talks tough about Trump as nation braces for US attack: ‘If we need to die, we’ll die’

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel has revealed that his island nation is bracing for an attack from the US and declared that he is willing to die resisting President Trump.

Since last December, the US has imposed a blockade around Venezuela as part of its Operation Southern Spear effort, and used that to cut off oil supplies to Cuba, which has since plunged further into an energy crisis.

“I don’t think there would be any justification for the United States to launch a military aggression against Cuba, or for the US to undertake a surgical operation or the kidnapping of a president,” Díaz-Canel told NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, per a translation.

If that happens, there will be fighting, and there will be a struggle, and we will defend ourselves, and if we need to die, we’ll die, because as our national anthem says, ‘dying for the homeland is to live.’”

The Trump administration has privately signaled to Cuba’s communist government that Díaz-Canel must go, the New York Times reported.

Díaz-Canel, the first pol outside the Castro family to lead the island nation since the Cuban Revolution, has refused to step aside.

Yes....this is called beating them at their own game.
Foreign AffairsRe: US Navy To Start Blockading All Ships On The Strait Of Hormuz - President Trump by Mattswaggz: 9:13am On Apr 13
Neoteny:
Nope.

Only because the US basically is a colony of Israel, owned and controlled by the Jews. Almost everything the US does in the middle-east, outside protecting its petrodollar collaborators on the GCC, is for the interest of Israel. Have you so soon forgotten WMD Iraq? Libya? Syria? Yemen? Gaza?

Let's not pretend that Iran was ever any threat to the US. Besides China and Russia and maybe North Korea, hardly anyone in the world has ICBMs capable of striking the US mainland, and if any of those did the concept of Mutually Assured Destruction will ensure their obliteration. So no, no one in the middle-east is any sort of military threat to the US.

Israel, on the other hand, has lots to gain by neutering its neighbors, either via the so-called Abraham Accords, or militarily, with the understanding that in no scenario would Israel allow anyone in the region to match or surpass its military power. And for this, the US (and formerly most of Europe) is a dependable workhorse.
Good....so now you know how America are involved in this then. cool .

For the 47 years the Ayatollahs have been in power and chanting "death to America" mention one instance they actually attacked the US. There's a reason all past US presidents refused Netanyahu's desire to have the US attack Iran, until this bumbling oaf came along.

Or how about North Korea which is kinda technically still at war with the US via South Korea, has nukes pointed at Washington, and threatens the US nonstop on the daily?
NK is threatening and shouting d*ath to America.....Iran has used it's proxies to actually attack Israel and has made it clear that they would annihilate them.

LoLz. NO! Iran would not be using the strait as a bargaining chip if the US has not attacked them. Now the US has to commit resources to something that wasn't a problem. That is not a good strategy at all.
Were all the people affected by the illegal blockade also attacking Iran?. undecided .

Amazing how you're all focusing on the seeming political optics and overlooking the most important factor: global economics including the US. Russia has zero oil passing the Strait, China has like 30% of its needs transiting there....but US allies Japan and South Korea each has like 70% of its oil needs passing the Strait.

So Trump is going to roil the world's economy and further impoverish Americans in a critical election year just to own Iran at its own game, during a deeply unpopular war, and when a recession is all but guaranteed for the US economy because of trump's bizarre foreign policy?

You all can bask in your support for the US and Trump's misadventures, but there are real world repercussions that will affect almost everyone. Nigeria is already grappling with gas at like N1,300/liter and further strangulation is what you're all advocating.... strange way of looking at things.
True the effects will be felt globally....but this is war!!!.

Tell that to Iran that started this game.
Foreign AffairsRe: US Navy To Start Blockading All Ships On The Strait Of Hormuz - President Trump by Mattswaggz: 7:57pm On Apr 12
Neoteny:
No no no.

Even if the strait was opened a week ago, it'll be months before oil falls and stabilizes. Further impeding passage would only strangle oil flow, spook the markets, and deepen the oil price crisis all over the world.

To you, it's a masterful gambit of an eye for an eye; for the world, it's complete blindness.
Well.....Iran should also feel how the pressure to make a deal from their allies is like.... beating someone on their own game is much more better than trying to use force only to win them especially when it isn't working.

US has no option. Trump is in a confused state and he was looking for an off ramp to get out of the middle east.

Iran is down and fears no fall.

Inflation is brutally dealing with Americans and Trump has become an unpopular president. Americans get no chill, Trump knows what is coming in the mid term election.
They produce a significant amount of oil and they have Venezuela to get from as well.....increases in price wouldn't be that much of a problem to Americans for now while Iran not being able to use the straits will also hurt Iran significantly.

What's excellent about blocking what's already blocked because he caused it to be blocked when it was previously open, and the blocking would only worsen US economy and send gas over $5 and hurt his voters and cause him the mid-terms? huh
Seems like you haven't been following up then....Iran allows some countries to pass and they charge them as well while stopping US and her allies from using the straits....US creating a blockade will also stop both Iran and her allies from using the straits which means 50/50.

Iran made it clear that they can hold the world hostage, remember another passage where the houthis(Iran sponsored terrorist) block the water ways in Yemen, Iran is also doing theirs via strait of Hormus.
Since they want to use it as a leverage, they have made it clear to the world what they can do and US will not have any of that.
Exactly....US is about to use their own weapon against them...and funny enough US has options for oil but Iran doesn't have options for revenues because they'll also need the straits to export and US wouldn't let them pass.
