If you're in lag I can help you check if the motherboard is fixable.

However, getting another mobo for this laptop is a cheaper than getting a another laptop.

As long as it is only the motherboard and keyboard that is the issue.

To get a good core i3 laptop UK use ,you will have to budget like #80k-90k

Changing the motherboard for this particular laptop (used) should be around #25-30k.

Getting a brand-new laptop with core i3 ,will have to budget like #250k above cos most of the laptop you will get now are 10th gen above.

Whether you get a brand-new laptop or UK use, it doesn't mean the laptop can not develop fault after 1hr of using it, that's why there is warranty on all products.

Unless you don't like the laptop,for me I'll advise you get another motherboard either used or new.

if the motherboard is not yet damaged, try to repair it and change keyboard. but if it requires changing of motherboard, buy a new laptop

The technician I took it to spoke of changing the motherboard. I guess a new one it is.

Hello everyone!

I have a laptop given to me by my sister. According to her, the laptop suddenly switched off and it has keyboard problems. I'd like to start freelancing and web development but I'm faced with two options:

1)Buy a new laptop
2)Repair the one my sis gave me even though it is likely it will soon get spoilt again (I don't even know how much the total repair will cost me).


Kindly advise me on what to do.

Good morning. How were you able to get a freelance job, as an absolute beginner?

To be honest with you, it wasn't easy. I got my accounts registered on Upwork and Fiverr around February, ad I recently just got my first paid hire.


Back to your question, you just have to create your professional accounts on your preferred freelance platforms, learn how to send buyer requests (on Fiverr) and how to draft cover letters and proposals(on Upwork). I believe as time goes on, when you do the right things, you will get your first job.


You could watch more videos online or in Youtube. There are a lot of free contents online.
