A young Ghanaian girl identified as Blandine (pictured above) was on May 25th electrocuted to death after the power bank she was using to charge her phone got stuck on her skin and electrocuted her. According to reports from Dumsor, Ghana, the girl was chatting with a friend when she fell asleep and placed the power bank she was using to charge her phone around her breast region. She had connected the power bank to an electricity source so it can charge when power is restored. As power was restored to her area, their was a power surge, the power bank got heated and got stuck on her skin, electrocuting her to death. Her parents found her dead.

The new Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, says Nigerians should stop bribing policemen and instead report them if they ask for bribe. He made the statement today when asked during a press briefing in Abuja if bail in Nigeria was free or not...

We have a zero tolerance for payment of money to free suspect. I am appealing to members of the public, not to corrupt my men; It takes two to tango. If they ask you for bribe and you refuse to give, and you have avenues where your grievances can be ventilated, I do not see any reason why you should give them bribe. The Commissioner of Police is there; the Area Commander is there; the DPO is there; and the technical platform (to report corrupt policemen) is there. We have opened ourselves to public accountability. So, you cannot now say the whole problem should be blamed on the police force

I ate 3 plates of beans (which I know I shouldn't). When I got to my fiance's place for dinner,he seemed excited to see me and exclaimed delightedly "Darling I have a surprise for you tonight". He then blindfolded me and led me to my chair at the dinning table. I took a seat and just as he was about to remove my blindfold, the telephone rang. He made me promise not to touch the blindfold until he returned and went to answer the call.

The beans I had consumed was still affecting me and the pressure was becoming unbearable, so while my
fiancé was out of the room I seized the opportunity, shifted my weight to one leg and let one go. It was not only loud, but it smelled like a fertilizer truck running over a skunk in front of a garbage dump! I took my napkin from my lap and fanned the air around me vigorously. Then, shifting to the other leg, I ripped off three more. The stink was worse than cooked cabbage. Keeping my ears carefully tuned to the conversation in the other room, I went on releasing atomic bombs like this for another few minutes. The pressure was indescribable!

Eventually the telephone farewells signaled the end of my freedom, so I quickly fanned the air a few more times with my napkin, placed it on my lap and folded my hands back on
it feeling very relieved and pleased with myself.

My face must have been the picture of innocence when my fiancé returned, apologizing for taking so long. He asked me if I had peeped through the blindfold, and I assured
him I had not. At this point, he removed the blindfold.
To my utmost surprise, twelve dinner guests including his Mum and Dad were seated around the table, with hands holding their noses.....

Two suspected kidnappers, Celestine Emmanuel from Umuaka, Njaba Local Government Area of Imo state and Ibeawuchi Uzo, a native of Ohaozara, Ebonyi state who kidnapped a Catholic Priest, Reverend Father Philip Ojimmadu were gunned down during an exchange of fire with the anti kidnapping Unit of the Imo State Police Command.

The state Commissioner of Police, Austin Evbakhavbokun who disclosed this to newsmen in a press conference Tuesday narrated that the Catholic priest was allegedly kidnapped by the suspects along Odumara in Orodo, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of the state while driving his Nissan with registration number: APP 393 CP.
He was said to have subsequently taken to their den at Afor Umuaka where he was kept for a day.

He spoke at the Dr. Obi Wali International Conference Centre in Port Harcourt, where Peterside’s campaign organisation, Greater Tomorrow Campaign Organisation (GTCO) held a thanksgiving service to celebrate “God’s faithfulness throughout the electioneering period”.

Amaechi accused Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Solomon Arase of promoting policemen who assisted the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to rig the March 28 and April 11 elections.

Besides Amaechi and Peterside, the well-attended service, also had in attendance the Rivers governor’s wife, Judith; Peterside’s wife, Elima, a lawyer; his running mate, Asita Honourable and his wife, Patricia; as well as the Director-General of GTCO, Chief Victor Tombari Giadom, and other eminent personalities.

Peterside, in company with Asita, during testimony and thanksgiving, gave details of the killings and violence in Rivers State before, during and after the elections.

The APC’s governorship candidate declared that even with the stealing of votes by the leaders of the PDP in Rivers State, they could not write the results for themselves, noting that the challenges would not be greater than God, saying: “I am 100 per cent certain that we will come out victorious.”

The General Overseer of Gateway International Church, Port Harcourt, Rev. George Izunwa, who preached on the occasion, said before the end of this year, Peterside and his friends would gather for another thanksgiving service for victory.

Amaechi said: “God will bless all of you, for standing by us. On May 27, I will be 50. I never believed that I would be 50. Having got to 50, I must thank God.

“There is a man called John Amadi, the then Deputy Commissioner of Police (in Rivers State, during the 2015 general elections), who sat down and wrote a programme that embarrassed the APC and the incoming Federal Government, even after Gen. Buhari had won the presidential election.

“To embarrass us further, I hear he has been promoted to Commissioner of Police and transferred out of Port Harcourt. He will come back. The only way he will not come back is if we do not form government, but if we form government, he will account for his actions.
