What do you expect? We Nigerians are quick to turn against each other whenever the opportunity arises, bantering online. There have been worse countries than ours, but we just find it easier to mess up our self-image online and still expect people to hold us in high regard. |

Obaaderemi2: Looking good and working towards wealth are not mutually exclusive. If you like don't take care of your looks and health. I never said one should abandon their health. Here's my point: pursuing wealth at a young age gives you an advantage among your peers and earns you respect due to the network of people you build around you. However, the person I quoted seems to dismiss these points, believing that everything will eventually fall into place, which might be misleading. |
Romance › Re: For Men: Is This True Once You Hit 30 Years? by Maxxim: 4:11pm On Jan 21, 2025 |
EmperorCaesar: His point is, You can take care of your looks/be obsessed with your looks as a guy and still strife towards financial stability. These things arent mutually exclusive.
We should learn to balance things up.
Its even more funny when people assume that disagreeing with a random online opinion means you're a joke offline
This is 2025 abeg, be flexible in your reasoning. No that's not what he meant, He claimed it's a social construct and it's all BS, but the reality remains. No matter how much we try to bend reality or follow our own truths, social constructs exist, and their impact is visible all around us. You can't fight it; you just have to learn how it works. Looking good and taking care of one's health is necessary, but discrediting the fact that, at a certain age, these qualities matter less is ignoring reality. People begin to judge and respect you based on specific perspectives and what you can offer. This is a fact we must all embrace. It's almost like someone in the future giving you a cheat sheet on the world's expectations of you. And yes, what the oP mentioned are indeed real facts. |

This is bs and everyone isn't thinking uniformly cos we're not robots but they've been trying to turn us into that with the media and internet now Play with your life till you enter 40 |

I'll be 30 in five months, and my way of thinking has shifted. In the past few years when attending occasions and functions with family and friends, I realize it's no longer just about appearances. The image you project now revolves around financial capability. You start to understand that every action you take has an impact on the years ahead, and you don't want to jeopardize your future with unnecessary and unproductive things. My level of sobriety over the past year 😬 |
